The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact was informed by a mobile safelite technician that there were minor spider web cracks on the windshield. The windshield was replaced by safelite. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The contact also stated that upon pressing the push to start button to turn off the vehicle, the vehicle shuddered, made an abnormal sound, and then turned off. The contact stated that the failure recurred while starting the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that a transmission bolt was missing. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that upon parking and turning off the vehicle, the message "shift to park" was displayed while the gear shifter was in park(p). Additionally, the contact stated that while driving with no vehicles nearby, the automatic emergency braking system engaged, causing the vehicle to jerk. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that an unknown sensor had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Windshield has considerable distortion and causes visibility problems while driving (especially in traffic). Gm claims this is normal and will not replace the windshield. This is a significant safety concern.

The windshield cracked on the inside about 4 inches long. It started in the middle of the windshield. There was another one that was parallel to it and that was about an inch long. Noticed this on July 1, 2005. Contacted the dealer on July 26, 2005 . They told consumer bring in it on the 9th. They said it looked like vehicle hit a rock, and they do not cover it windshields. The consumer stated after talking to a manger, he stated it was not due to a rock hitting the windshield.

The windshield in my 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was defective from the factory. It had such bad ripples in the glass that it made me feel as if I were looking through a pair of bifocals. After a couple of trips back to the dealer I finally convinced them to replace it! the new one is better but still has flaws in it. I've been looking at other Trailblazers now and see the same defect in many other vehicles. I feel that could be a serious safety concern and that something should be done about it!.

But is worse on the driver's side. Also, on the windshield there is a wavy effect through the field of view and makes this distracting for the driver.

Consumer bought a new vehicle that had a defective windshield. Result, poor visibility. Took vehicle back to dealer, and the windshield was replaced again. Consumer took the vehicle back a third time. Gm had sent the dealership a notice not to replace any more windshields for the Chevrolet trail blazer.

At 25mph they heard a popping noise and then front passenger's window was shattered. Cause unknown. Dealer notified.
