Check Engine Light On problems of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Nhtsa. Gov/vehic I was going down the interstate and the stabilitrak, traction control, check engine lights all came on. Engine reduced power light came on I lost all power of the vehicle, I was in heavy traffic and forced off of the road because my engine died. I went from doing 70 mph down to 10 mph and came very close to getting rear ended. This would have caused a chain reaction rear end crash with multiple vehicles. When I got to the shoulder of the road I wasn't able to get my vehicle started. I waited about 10 minutes tried it again. It turned over with yellow engine light remaining on. This has happened on multiple occasions. 1 have seen where this is a problem in this year model of this vehicle and wondering why it hasn't been recalled yet by the manufacturer before someone loses there life. This is my only vehicle and I feel that it is unsafe to drive. I have a one year old granddaughter and her safety is at risk. Please help fix this problem as we need a car to drive.

While driving the vehicle the engine will cut out. The truck will stutter and the check engine light will go on. A message will appear on the display: service stabilitrack, traction control turned off. A secondary message will display as reducing engine power and then the truck will stall. This has happened on several occasions while in traffic or driving down the highway in normal driving conditions. It has been occurring more frequently. Once the vehicle sits for 20 to 30 minutes it will usually start back up. The check engine light remains on. Once the vehicle is parked overnight the check engine light usually goes off. I have seen that this is a common complaint with this vehicle. I fear for the safety of myself and my family as this can happen at any time. We have almost been rear ended by a tractor trailer doing 65 mph on the highway. Luckily I was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road where it had to be towed. It was looked at by a service station and they were unable to diagnose any problem. The most recent occurrence was 1/20/21 while driving on city streets.

The Traverse randomly loses power and stalls while driving. The check engine light illuminates and a message stating vehicle reducing power appears on the display. The engine then cuts out. This has happened several time recently while in traffic as well as on the highway. It is very dangerous especially when on the highway doing 65 mph. It has been happening frequently with the latest occurrence 01/20/2021. Once the truck sits for approximately 20 to 30 minutes the vehicle will start and run. Sometimes the issue will happen again while driving, sometimes it will not. Typically once the vehicle sits overnight the engine light will go off by itself. I fear for the safety of my family while driving the vehicle as we have almost been involved in a couple accidents due to this issue.

After making a right turn while driving in traffic in a school zone traction control went off then on check engine light went on service stabilitrak flashed engine power is reduced flashed had to pull over and restart car, engine light remained on ecm was replaced less than 3 yrs ago for the same thing at ed morse sawgrass in sunrise, FL.

My 2014 chevy Traverse has been having this issue for months now. I will be driving and my service stabilitrak, traction control off, check engine light will light up, and engine power reduced will pop up. I can not go over 20 mph. At times the engine will become very stally, jerky, my steering wheel and brakes will be very hard to use. These are very random and non patterned I will have to safely pull over rather it be on a back road or a highway wherever it happens turn the engine off for 5-20 minutes and it will eventually clear everything but the check engine light; which will clear within that day or the next until the next time it happens. It has also cause my key to lock up in the ignition. This is very unsafe and scary. This is my family car and will eventually cause an accident and hurt myself, my kids, or someone else. If you google the issue there are tons of forums, websites, blogs that have the same issue with this car. I have spent numerous hours investigating the issue, lots of money replacing parts as recommended or by the check engine light and it continues to do this. Gm is going to have a lawsuit on their hands when someone gets seriously hurt over this issue because they are not doing anything about it.

1st the a/c would flash and quit working, 2nd the check engine light came on, 3rd the temperature gauge quit work, 4th the engine fan keeps running after taking the key out. 5th sometime the radio controls will not work. And and the outside mirrors will quit working both in motion and not. I took into the dealership and replaced the ecm connector and it immediately did the same thing.

Ac won't come on or just shuts off while driving, sometimes the service airbag warning comes on, sometimes it sets a check engine light code p0119, if the recirculate button is not on then it lights up and ac compressor shuts off, pull over out of traffic and shut the car off and let everything come to a complete stop and restart the car, sometimes every thing clears up but sometimes it takes several restarts to get car to function properly. Happens driving on road or stationary. Checked battery but seems to be ok, checked fuse box and the entire fuse box is loose, the hold down screws in the fuse box appear to be stripped and will not tighten, shimmed the box to the frame to prevent it from shaking around in the engine compartment. Car was purchased from lakeside Chevrolet in rockwall, TX as a certified used car, it has been back to the dealer for the service airbag issue but they did not resolve the problem. Has been happening every since we purchased the vehicle. Keep looking for recalls but nothing yet. There are considerable complaints about this problem or similar problems. The problem with carrying this vehicle back to dealer is that they don't seem to know how to fix it. General motors should recall this vehicle and repair it because it is obviously factory defective.

On more that one occasion but most recently on 03/16/2018 I have driving my vehicle and I get the first message of, "service stabilitract". The next message is, "traction control off". It is then following by, "engine power is reduced" and my check engine light comes on. The vehicle then decelerates to 10-20 mph. This has occurred to me twice while on the highway travelling in excess of 60 mph. (not while accelerating). This has occurred while accelerating from 0 mph, 30+ mph, 60+ pmh and decelerating from 60+mph, 30+mph and from 0 to 30 mph. It has occurred while turning a corner, driving in a straight line. The dealership said to bring the vehicle in after an incident without turning off the vehicle. I have not been able to drive the vehicle without ever having to stop and turn off the vehicle. The power steering is almost non-existent after reduced engine power occurs. It feels like it is running on three of the six cylinders and has almost caused me to have an accident. I almost hit a school bus once. The vehicle is at the dealership again for it's second week of diagnostics.

While driving the reduce engine speed, traction control, stabili-trac, and the check engine light flashes. The engine speed was reduced to a crawl. This has happened three times now and the speed doesn't seem to make a difference 30mph - 65mph. While we have been able to turn the car off and get it to drive home after 5 mins, it is dangerous because it happens while driving at higher speeds in the middle of traffic.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that on various occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled and completely shut off with the check engine light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle would operate normally after waiting a while to restart the vehicle. The contact also stated that the vehicle became unbearable to steer. The vehicle was towed to koons tysons chevy Buick GMC 2000 chain bridge rd, vienna, va 22182 (703) 790-9800 where the ignition control relay was replaced but the dealer was not sure if that would repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,646. Dr.

Takata recall, driving on the highwau my traction controll and check engine light came on. The powere of my engine reduced and my speed would not go faster 25mph. This is the second time this has happen but when I taken the vehicle to the dealership the first time the problem does not occur and nothing is fix.

Purchased the vehicle in Jan/2017 certified pre-owned. After about 2-3 months I would notice a lack of power when trying to accelerate. It seemed as though the vehice was trying to keep up on a 25mph street. The vehicle would also "jerk" when accelerating. And just today I got a flashing check engine light and a warning that the traction control was off, has a loss of engine power, and after about 30 seconds the warnings went away and the car began to gain acceleration.

The check engine light keeps coming on, but no problem can be found by the dealership. The transmission keeps "jerking" or it even feels like it is falling out. I've read that it can take a while for the vehicle to "learn" how you drive, but this doesn't feel right. Almost too scared to drive. I was stopped at a stop light and my vehicle stalled (I didn't realize this until I tried to go at a green light) and wouldn't move. . . Even when I didn't have it in park. I had to turn it off and on twice before my vehicle would move. I've had electrical problems with the vehicle as well. It's only a 2014. This should not be happening!.

My car has been in the dealership three times for the same problem. After the car has been sitting, within 5-10 minutes of driving it will run rough, buck and not accelerate. The check engine light flashes in addition to the service traction control light. When you stop and turn off the car all of the system lights turn off. This happens intermittently the first time it was serviced the dealership changed the injectors on one side, then five months later it started again. Went to another dealership and they said they could not replicate the problem. Now at the first dealership that replaced the injectors and no system codes presented and they are not able to replicate the issue.

As the vehicle was drining 50 mph, the car pulled to one side and slowed. And was not easily controllable. Nearly causing an accident I had to go over 3 lanes of traffic to safely pull over. The "traction control is off" light came on at the dashboard and the check engine light flashed several times. I hit the button to turn on traction control but it did nothing.
