The 2024 chevy Traverse has super cruise. It is basically an auto drive feature. It has sensors in the top part of the steering wheel. This plastic area is known for cracking and the dealership said there is nothing they can do. This is absurd. They know there is an issue with the wheels cracking and they are not fixing them under the warranty.

Emergency braking occurs at random, even if I'm the only vehicle / object on the roadway. This has been ongoing and has been to the dealership three times. It starts back up each time the vehicle gets an update. Adaptive cruise will brake hard due to false emergency braking, but does not always stop accelerating at the set point (has gone as high as 20 mph over the set point previously and brakes would not respond during). Vehicle was not starting and "press brake to start" warning was showing even though brake pedal was pressed. Brake master cylinder had to be replaced along with brake module. When picking the vehicle up afterward, warning light came while vehicle was warming up "service brake assist" and then shortly after the yellow-circled abs dashlight came on. Dealership said this was a new problem and separate from the brake master cylinder and brake module.

Vehicle currently at dealership for esc, brake system and abs warning lights coming on. Unable to use cruise control once these lights came on.
I own a 2025 GMC Traverse purchased in July 2025. The vehicle is experiencing ongoing electrical system issues. The gps and onstar systems are inoperative, including vehicle location services. The vehicle cannot connect to onstar or detect a WI-fi connection. In addition, the adaptive cruise control is not functioning properly. These systems have been inoperative for approximately 4 weeks. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and I was informed that parts are required, but no repair timeline has been provided. The loss of gps, onstar emergency services, and adaptive cruise control presents a safety concern, as emergency response, vehicle tracking, and driver assistance features are unavailable while driving. The issue remains unresolved.
The car is equipped with a supercruise feature, which should ideally enhance the driving experience. However, I've encountered a significant issue: even when this feature is not activated, the vehicle tends to oscillate between the lane markers. This problem becomes particularly pronounced under poor road conditions, such as when it's raining. The moisture on the pavement obscures the lane markings, and in these instances, the car automatically drifts toward the right side of the road. As a result, I find myself constantly struggling to maintain control of the steering wheel in an effort to keep the car centered within the lane. When it veers off to the right, I must exert extra effort to correct its direction, which can lead to a hazardous driving situation, regardless of the weather conditions or time of day. The need for constant corrections not only creates frustration but also increases the risk of losing control, making this a serious concern for both my safety and that of other road users.
Super cruise not working.
Started 09/17/while braking, a front-end clunk or thud occurs. Directly afterwards, a cluster of warning lights appeared including brake, abs, collision avoidance/forward collision, and stabile track stability control) brake pedal is now inconsistent and soft. Every time the brakes are activated, the thud or clunk occurs. When I start the vehicle, I get warning messages of service brake assist, service esc on the dash that I must acknowledge. Called hendricks chevy columbia SC on 9/18/25. Told to bring into dealership on 9/19/25. Dealership attempted diagnosis but could not. They bled brakes and reset all warning lights. I drove car approx. 10 miles and symptoms reoccurred, including all warning lights and thud/clunk. Called dealership again and told to bring into on 9/22/25. It is now 9/23/25 and they have not diagnosed it yet. I was assigned a loaner car for 5 days.
The first component to fail was the brake booster module which controls the abs, forward collision, adaptive braking, adaptive cruise, traction control system, etc. The malfunction started when the forward collision assist activated to prevent me from hitting a deer in the road. We avoided hitting the deer but all of those lights came on immediately. We contact friendship Chevrolet the dealer we bought the car from had us bring it in to be checked. They confirmed the defective module and said that it was a reported issue that gm had it's engineers looking at. They said they would have to wait for the part to arrive, advised that we could continue to drive the car even though there was a major malfunction with the critical braking systems. Did not offer any type of loaner to ensure my family's safety. We had to wait for more than 30 days for them to receive the part and complete the repair still driving this unsafe vehicle because we had no other choice considering how high the msrp & payment is on the vehicle. Once the repair was finally completed we immediately began to notice that the brakes were consistently screeching when in slow moving traffic like car rider pick up line. I reported the issue to the dealership and they gave me the answer that it was due to a more abrasive brake pad being used due to it being a passenger vehicle and it's weight. We continued to deal with the squeaking for months then we noticed a coolant leak. Dealership again said had to wait for part. After they did not contact me back I contacted gm and opened a case. When they got it in I also had them change the brakes out of my own pocket. Now the brakes squeak anytime pressure is applied and when coming to a complete stop they grind so loud you can hear and feel them digging in. Gm still says nothing is wrong and brakes are a maintenance charge and are not covered for any reason. I feel the vehicle is still extremely unsafe and my family is at risk of possible crash.
While driving the automatic brake assist failure light came on. I was unable to stop at a very busy intersection and was forced into traffic even though I had a red light. The parking brake, engine light, and light came on.
I star failed and I could not use any of my lane assist. All features quit working that were to help me with other cars approaching failed. Radio quit work it working. Battery in car needed to be replaced and car needed to be jumped started. Curse control did not work. Had less than 2000 miles on car. Safety features in car quit working.
Parked the vehicle a Saturday evening went to get into it Sunday morning and the dash was lit up with abs light, service esc, traction control, check engine light. Called the dealership I bought it from to tell them what was going on, brought it in on a Monday evening to be looked at Thursday. Was called to be informed the master cylinder went bad. Was told by the service manger part would be in to be fixed Wednesday. Wednesday came and gone with no call, finally got a call Thursday evening that the part did not arrive and now they have no eta on the part.
On 6/18/25 vehicle started displaying "service braking system" and "service electronic stability control" warnings along with warning chimes and various malfunction indicator lights. Malfunction indicator lights included service brakes, abs, and esc. Vehicle taken to dealer service department on 6/18. Service department has replaced the battery and brake assist module, but the problem persists. Gm says to replace the brake master cylinder, but no parts are available. Dealer has impounded the car as a safety concern and has provided a loaner vehicle. Because this involves the service brakes it is a safety concern.
Had lights on my dashboard when I turned it on the morning of 6/1/25. Brake light, traction, abs, and forward collision. Cruise control also stopped working. Brake module needs to be replaced.
My vehicles battery died, camera systems unavailable, cruising systems unavailable, breaking system breaker on clear highway at 55mph with my kids in the back. The car is faulty!! 8+ months now waiting on a resolution! 7+ service visits now I’m being ignored!!.
2021 chevy Traverse went out in September, it would shutter causing take off to jerk so hard and cause traffic to stall, hurting passengers necks, and almost causing accidents.

This vehicle was advertised as having the super cruise feature along with "following distance indicator", "forward collision alert", "lane keep assist with lane departure warning" and "intellibeam" (auto headlamp dimming feature). We purchased the vehicle expecting all of these to function. When we took delivery and went on our drive with the salesman so he could explain all the features, we found that the adaptive cruise control and the super cruise would not work at all. We thought maybe we were trying to engage it incorrectly, so the salesman advised he would check into it the next day (we took delivery after regular service hours) and get back to us. We took the vehicle home. Upon driving the next several days, the forward collision alert malfunction indicator light came on in the driver information center. We had made an appointment and took the vehicle to the dealer. We were advised that bulletin #pit6167a was issued by gm on 6/20/2024 stating "super cruise unavailable" and it was a known problem and at the time there was no fix. We were advised by the dealer that the issue was a software engineering issue that gm does not have a solution for repair. Gm allowed this vehicle to be sold knowing that the automatic driver assist (adas) safety systems on this vehicle would not function at all. We knew the adaptive cruise control and the super cruise systems would not work, but we found out on the road in the dark that the "intellibeam" system was not working when oncoming traffic started flashing their bright lights. This was a safety concern. This was very irresponsible of gm to sell these vehicles with adas issues. How did this vehicle pass the quality control process at the factory? research shows there are other models affected. Today I learned that there is a newer version of the gm service bulletin (new number is pit6167c) that states there is still no repair process for the super cruise (and other affected adas systems) available yet. Gm refused to buyback.
I was driving on I-20 with cruise control on @ 71 mph (night time) @ 7 min into using cruise control, the SUV acted like it stopped for a quick second (scaring me) I remember rubbing my neck afterwards, thinking it was almost like whiplash. I pulled off the road into parking lot. I thought maybe I had a flat or tire issue, no tire issues. I then stopped @ a store, when getting back into the SUV, I could smell something awful. Like something had burnt. Still don’t know. I have not used the cruise control since this incident. It was xmas weekend, so I have to wait till dealer opens back up to have it checked out.
I was unable to stop my vehicle from accelerating. The brakes were engaging but my vehicle continued to build speed. Myself and my family, as well as others on the road, were all put at risk due to my vehicle not responding or failing to control speed; cruise control was not engaged. My insurance company, usaa, is currently investigating and determining total damage estimate. No warning lamps, indicators, or messages were presented prior to collision. The rotors and brakes were glowing red after collision from continuous attempts to stop the vehicle.
Vehicle has been owned for 15 months. This vehicle has been to Chevrolet dealer for the same problem over 7 times. Radio and instrument cluster has turned off and screen has stayed black. I’m August it made vehicle unsafe to drive and operate and had to be towed. Dealer replaced radio screen twice and problem still persists. Cruises control becomes unavailable at random times and won’t function until you power cycle vehicle. Phone and radio will not pair or function together at random times. Pedestrian warning would randomly brake vehicle when driving and no obstacles nor pedestrians were near by. Was almost involved in a collision due to this. Chevrolet dealer has been unable to diagnose electrical problem even after changing radio twice, amplifier once due to it having overheated and burned out, pedestrian module once. Continue to have same problems. Current odometer reading is at 37,200.
