The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v334000 (air bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving off the lot when purchasing vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The dealer was informed and diagnosed the vehicle with fuel system failure. The water pump was replaced; however, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle with the same failure. The dealer cleared the code. The contact stated that the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump and dashboard needed to be replaced. The mechanic also determined that the shock absorbers were leaking and needed to be replaced. The fuel pump was replaced. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the recall repair was completed; however, the parts were not available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. Tl the contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse. While the contact's brother was driving 35 mph, all the warning indicators illuminated. The driver informed the contact that there was a burning wire odor under the hood, which entered the vehicle throught the vents. The vehicle stalled on an incline, but the driver was able to place the gear shifter into neutral. The vehicle rolled backwards and the driver was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart. The following day, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the high pressure fuel pump failed due to fuel in the oil. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no open recalls. No further assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. While driving 70 mph on the highway, the vehicle stalled and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and towed to joe bowman Chevrolet Cadillac (2455 e market st, harrisonburg, va 22801, (540) 434-6731) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump was damaged. While performing the repair, the dealer fractured the tube that connected the fuel pump to the vehicle. As a result, there were three more failures with the fuel pump that were currently linked to the engine. The dealer refused to repair the tube. The manufacturer was made aware and did not assist. The failure mileage was 15,000.
