1 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/26/2020

Couple months ago I was out with my family and noticed that the car was almost stuttering when I placed it in reverse. A little like when you drive a car with a manual transmission and you depress the clutch but don't give the car enough gas and is starts to jerk backwards instead of roll smoothly. Then as I traveled home I noticed a sort of shutter when the car shifts at 25 mph- I'm guessing around 3rd gear. No shuttering at a higher gear. It has been in my garage since that day and I have not driven it. From what I been reading & learning it has to do with the wave plates on the inside the transmission. Please help.

2 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 07/22/2019

After reaching the 100,000 mile mark, my Traverse ran rough, had slow acceleration, and sometimes low power. The mpg went down drastically from aprx 320 per tank to btwn 230-250. It was well maintained with routine oil changes, recently with synthetic oil due to the high mileage. I changed the spark plugs and air filter, which helped for a short time. It began revving at high rpms on the freeway and not shifting. After aprx five months of experiencing the symptoms periodically, the engine light finally came on and alerted there was a problem just over 108,000 miles. The code p0008 indicated a timing issue, resulting from either a stretched timing chain or bad tensioner. The light was off the next morning, but returned later the same day. I did not drive the Traverse for aprx two weeks in fear of the timing chain breaking. The day I was taking it to the dealer, I attempted to start it and blew the engine. The chevy mechanic confirmed it was a result of the timing chain. Doing research, there are several cases of the 3. 6l engine having problems with the premature failure of the timing chain stretching. I am just thankful I was not driving at the time it broke. I want to know why it took so long for the engine light to come on after experiencing the signs for months. Chevy had the same problem with the 2009 Traverse and extended the warranty to 120,000 miles. They need to do the same thing with the 2010's as well. The maintenance manual indicates the timing chain doesn't even need to be checked until 150,000.

3 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/22/2016

Takata recall, when I give it some throttle I heard the front driver side making a funny noise like a grinding/jumping/popping noise and my traction control symbol comes on my dash its loud enough that everybody inside and outside my SUV can hear it especially when I'm turning when its wet or snowy out. My heat and ac take half hour to start working about 70% and I had it checked, it's not my thermostat or it also doesn't need to be flush or recharged because I already had it checked this is how it was since I've purchased it. And my drivers door lock, locks and unlocks whenever it wants to I about 95% of the time have to do it manually. I had it checked by the dealership and by a different mechanic and nobody knew what was wrong with it. All four doors always squeaking and I've been putting grease every few weeks to month plus I see that there bearings looked like they becoming shot and now my doors seemed to look like they starting sag. I'm just tired of paying mechanics to take a look and can't fix my issues. 1.

4 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 07/11/2014

Opened the lift gate with the key fob, made a loud noise when fully extended and immediately started shutting while I was getting something out of the back. Don't know if the door would have bounced back up if it hit me and would have started coming back down again since it doesn't stay up. Used manual mode and door does not stay up. Googled it and apparently there have been problems since 2007 with the power lift gate in the Saturn outlook, acadia, Traverse, enclave, and equinox.
