1 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 05/19/2026

Approx 5/19/26 forward collision detection check light randomly came on when driving home and showed notifications showing "service esc" "service traction control" then started showing notifications for the collision sensors unavailable and continuously flickering them across the dash. The fwd collision symbol would come on and off randomly. Finally was able to take it to the dealership on 6/8/26. Dealership found 6 codes and updated the image processing module. The fwd collision symbol is back on and off, notifications are flickering across the dash more frequently and now the check engine light is constantly on as of 6/14/26. Car is currently back at the dealership. Pictures and videos were taken of the issue happening to provide extra proof and given to the techs. These sensors failing at any time could cause the vehicle to randomly brake, not brake, and possibly not register a potential accident and avoid it. This vehicle is our daily driver and is the vehicle my son's car seat is in so it's not just my safety, it's the safety of my wife and baby. It's the safety of anyone else who has this type of vehicle with these issues. Understandably it's always the drivers responsibility to pay attention to the road and surroundings but there's nothing the driver can do if the vehicle randomly shuts off or stops or slams on the brakes or another type of malfunction while out on the road. This vehicle has been in and out of the dealership 5 times now for three different things, every time it's picked up, the problem is still there or comes back within days. It's a pain moving all the baby gear back and forth, on top of the rentals we have been given have been so small, you can't even fit a stroller and groceries per-say in the trunk.

2 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 04/16/2025

I have a 2014 chevy Traverse I got December 2024. Up until 4/16/2025 I noticed a little cutting in and out of the radio and of course took it as the connection being back but yesterday after working I notice my radio isn’t giving out sound , my blinkers not giving sound and neither is my back up camera or seatbelt notifier. I’ve seen a ton of forums online where people are complaint of this same problem so I’m sure since 2014 this issue has been brought up. The question is what is chevy going to do about it. This fix could be costly. I did get my fuses checked and nothing is bad in that area. What will chevy recommend me to do?.

4 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 12/02/2024

I am writing to report a serious safety concern with my newly purchased. I believe this issue, if unaddressed, could lead to accidents. Specifically, when I am stopped at a stop sign with another vehicle behind me and the light changes to green, I begin to drive forward. However, as the vehicle behind me starts moving toward me, my car suddenly and violently applies the brakes. The force is so strong that it feels as if I've been rear-ended. This abrupt braking creates a dangerous situation as it increases the likelihood of me being rear-ended by the car behind me. It is important to note that I am in "drive" mode and moving forward, not in reverse, so I would not expect the car to brake under these circumstances. This issue is not isolated, and I have experienced similar sudden braking on several occasions, but this scenario is the most concerning due to the potential for accidents. I took the car to the dealership, assuming it might be a programming error. However, the dealership informed me that this is a known issue with this model, but no recall has been issued to address it. I strongly urge the ntsb to investigate this matter further, as I believe it poses a significant safety risk to drivers and passengers. Thank you for your attention to this issue.

5 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 12/01/2024

Recurring failures related to brake system. When reversing, the rear brake assist system slams on the brakes for no reason even though no obstacles are present. This startles everyone in the vehicle and nearby traffic. On other occasions, the vehicle shows an error on the instrument cluster stating "rear brake assist unavailable". More recently, a persistent error began appearing on the instrument cluster stating "service brake monitor", indicating a failure of the brake pad sensor. On top of all of this, the brakes are noisy and squeaky to the point where it wakes up my neighbors.

6 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/20/2024

When driving my vehicle with the air condition on after about 25 minutes, the audio system completely goes out. No sound from the stereo, the backup camera alert, the blind spot alert, the "clicking" sound from the blinkers, all chimes, everything. The mechanic looked at the car and stated that this is a result of the condensation from the hvac system entering the active noise cancellation (anc) module through the module vents. He stated this should have been a recall as it is an extreme safety hazard as it prevents any audio alerts of the blind spot or backup camera warning systems. He states the anc module should be replaced and a secondary shield should be installed to prevent this in the future. The sound eventually comes back once the condensation dries up but once the air condition comes back on again shortly all the sounds go out again.

8 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 02/15/2022

Side blind zone detection system reported service required in the driver information center. Upon further investigation drivers side model pn 22844861 was swollen with corrosion. This eventually led to other issues on the vehicle including the turn signals dash information and air bag warning and remote key fob not working. Gm issued service bulletin 16-na-178 for repair. I initiated a case number with gm 9-7646907751. I also found gm n172097060 special coverage for the same issue for the 2013-2014 GMC acadia, which uses the same system as the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. I would like to get this resolved by gm and I’m unsure why they do not include the Chevrolet Traverse and the Buick enclave for this special coverage for side blind zone alert module water intrusion.
