36 Wheel problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 11/03/2016

I recently noted severe dry rot or cracking in the tire tread. The car is less than 2 years old and has 22k miles. There was a recall for this specific issue (premature tread cracking) for the specific oe tire model and size that my vehicle has. However, according to Chevrolet customer service, my vehicle is not included in the recall. It is apparent from the condition of these tires that the recall must be expanded to cover more vehicles than originally thought. Information about the recall: the rec all began on March 9, 2015. Owners may contact gm customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). Gm's number for this recall is 15025/15067. Note: this recall is for goodyear p255/65r18 fortera hl tires installed as original equipment.

39 Wheel problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/15/2015

6/9/2015 my car was serviced at the chevy dealer’s repair shop to prepare for a long distance trip. They reported I needed 4 new tires. I only agreed to replace 2 rear tires. I received my car 6/10/2015. 6/15/2015 only 4 days later one of the new tires blew out into 3 pcs (just missing serious or fatal injury). Once aaa installed the spare tire I called the manager of the chevy repair shop in NJ to report the blow out & to request they pay for pending repairs. He stated he did not have a way to pay for the repairs. He advised me to pay for the tire repairs a reimbursement. 6/15/2015 I was advised that the tire sensor was destroyed in the blow out. I only replaced the tire to get home (forced to purchase a tire @ $193. 77). When my car returned home. I contacted general motor (gm). A gm rep said that gm would speak to the chevy garage on my behalf. Gm called and requested I take my car to a goodyear repair shop for inspection, poss repairs and poss refund. Furious at shop & gm for placed defective tires on my car and for a lacked of accountability and a lack of over site for such a dangerous act. Online I discovered that the tires placed on my car on June 10, 2015 were recalled by goodyear between December 2014 and February 2015. My tires:type: goodyear hl edition fortegra; size: mts p255/65r18; dot# 4bxm ardr 4614 & dot# 4bxm ardr 0515. I found an online letter from goodyear to all dealers mandating them to return all recalls. I shelled out $777. 31 to have my car ready for travel. During the blow out I put out $193. 77 to get my car safely back home. I paid out $1,051. 21 to replace 4 new tires. I then had to cough up $380. 60 to get brakes and rotors which stopped wheel vibration. The grand cost was more than $2,402. 89 which ddi not cover tire removal and donut installation. Still my car has not been totally repaired or inspected from the blow out.

40 Wheel problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/12/2015

One of the tires on my new chevy Traverse went flat and I was told that the tire could not be repaired because it wasn't a puncture hole. I was told it was more of a tear and when I looked at the tire the split looks like it was a continuation from the part of the tire that has the tread line. I find out there was a recall on this tire and even though my tire was manufactured a few months past the recall date (13th week, 2015 year), my vehicle is from the same plant and the tire size is the exact tire--goodyear fortera p255/65r18 109s. I do have the tire in question at my house and can take pictures if you need them. I was very concerned about this issue when I took my vehicle in for repair and asked how this could happen with brand new tires and was told there was nothing wrong with the tire(s). I am very concerned about driving this vehicle after reading the recall notice because I drive on a lot of secondary highways that are very isolated and I do not want to become stranding. I would like to know if I have a case in regards to this matter. Thank you.

41 Wheel problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 05/20/2015

I have a 2013 chevy Traverse that has massive cracking around the whole tire both on the inside 1st rib and the outside rib, I found cracks running across the wear indicators, I notified the dealership who after finding a recall (the recall was for years Nov 14 to Jan 15) agreed the description given by goodyear for these tires (p255/65r18 1095 fortera hl) asked for the car so they could replace the tires. As of yesterday goodyear claims all the issues are from ozone cracking and they are not liable for this, even though by definitation this occurs on the outside sidewall not the inside of the tread or across the wear indicators, I have repeadedly asked about the 6 year warrenty that is suppose to be on these and still have no reply, I do know there are multiple complaints filed against this specific tire from 2012 forward for the same issue and extreme tread wear. With the cracks running the full lenth of the tread on the inside and the cracks across the wear indicators this creates a massive danger in tire seperation or blow outs at high speeds especially in the summer.

43 Wheel problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 07/16/2014

Since buying this vehicle, my service airbag light has been on. I've taken it in three times to the dealership I purchased it from and once to another dealership to no avail. My tire light /warning also continues to show despite the dealership not finding a problem.

44 Wheel problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/25/2014

The tire pressure monitoring system warning light wont go out. This light came on and flashed and then went off. We had the dealer check it, but they said that this was normal. It came on again a month later, but went off. It was checked by dealer again. A few days later it came back on and stayed on. The dealer keeps saying its a quirk in the system fo the car, but this sounds like bs. It may be a failed sensor but it needs to be replace or corrected. This is a major safety issue because lack of adequate pressure in all four tires can cause an accident, especially when the system no longer tells you which tire is the issue.

45 Wheel problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 10/05/2013

I did not have a accident but I am sending this with a concern about what might happen because of an incident. Chevrolet Traverse does not come with a spare, (temporary or full size) or jack. It also does not have a place to put a spare tire. I had a flat tire that could not be repaired and all that came with the vehicle is a can of sealant and air tank. Now I will have to buy a spare and put it in back of my vehicle and this will be a huge safety issue. I bought this Traverse for the 3rd row seating but will not be able to use it because I have no other place designated to put a spare other than just place in the back section. I have 4 small grandchildren and in case of an accident the tire will be a major concern but we live in an area where sometimes phone/onstar does not work so we have to have spare tires. Everyone that I have told about this is shocked that it these vehicles does not come with at least a " temporary tire". I have contacted Chevrolet and they want to charge $700 for the cable, tire, jack to be added to vehicle.

46 Wheel problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 07/29/2013

Two things #1-travling on interstate 95. Right rear tire blow. The inside of the tire rip all around. I have a picture of the tire in two pieces. If you are interested in seeing the picture email me and I will send it to you. #2-also ever since I bought the vehicle in September 2010 the breaks squeaks. Its been looked at multiple time by two dealers. To this day the breaks still squeak. Very annoying. The warranty is out now but the problem still exist. Look at the history of the break issue.

47 Wheel problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 11/26/2011

I purchased this vehicle as a gm certified used vehicle in late December 2010. Nov26'11 @ 37,395 miles the front brake pads were replaced and the front brake rotors were resurfaced. In may 2012, I was rear ended at stop light and a couple of days later, I started experiencing shaking when applying the brakes and was told it was a maintenance issue when taken in for repair. Jun15'12 the front brake rotors were replaced. Nov30'12 vehicle taken in for service once more with same complaint of shaking when applying brakes or when coasting - front disc brake pads were replaced and front brake rotors were resurfaced. It is now may'13 (52k mi) and I am experiencing the same issues once more, however the shaking is much worse to the point it feels as if the front wheels will come off while braking. I contacted dealer to get service history, and found that this issue was present before I purchased the car.

48 Wheel problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 10/01/2011

The tire pressure sensors for the front and rear tires are reversed. For example, the warning light has been telling me for a week that the front right tire pressure is low (psi 15 or less). I have put air in the front right tire multiple times trying to fix the problem identified by the warning light, and the tire gauge would read above 35. I thought the sensor was reading incorrectly until I noticed the rear right tire was low. Once I put air in the rear right tire, the reading for the front right tire went from 9 psi to 36 psi.
