Air Bag Problems of Chevrolet Trax - part 2

I was driving speed limit, car in front of me stopped without enough notice and I hit the vehicle in front of me. Driver's airbag deployed with a loud pop and a cloud of smoke poured out from the airbag. My left forearm was burning and when I looked at my arm I watched my skin blister while the skin peeled away. 2nd degree burn was treated at local urgent care. The car I was driving is a company vehicle owned by my employer.

My car is a 2019 not 2020 and white not gray. The gas gauge doesn’t read pressure and drops by 1/4 up or down. I don’t have all the features which were supposed to be on the car. The rear door doesn’t close. I have ice inside my front windshield in the winter. I took the car back immediately. They refused to change the vehicle to the gray Trax within the 48 hours. They sold me the car in the dark. The brand new tires skidded on wet pavement, and suction cups for placing a windshield appear in the ice on the inside of the front windshield. The car is dangerous. Continental. All foot tires just replaced. I wrecked my car and the air bags didn't deployed the fire department was worried why they didn't the wreck totalled my Trax. I was a main highway.

Relay system- truck relay went out multiple times, unable to open trunk. When replaced caused all relays including (airbag, headlights, dash board, and trunk relays) to no longer work. Have had mechanic reprogram system but no longer works.

2019 Chevrolet Trax. Consumer writes in regards to takata airbag safety recall. The consumer stated the dealer has had possession of the vehicle for 103 days. The manufacturer was contacted and stated the parts necessary to complete the repair were unavailable.

I hit a deer at 55 mph on highway destroying the entire front end including the radiator. No air bags deployed. Police report number 2019-00700.

My car has a light on for the airbag system (which remains on the entire time the car is running) but when taken to the shop to have it read, no codes are showing. After research, I see this could potentially be a software problem, although my specific car has not been recalled. I have concerns with the airbag(s) deploying unnecessarily or not deploying at all in an accident (according to the information in the owner's manual).

When I bougt it my vehicle was just like that. . . .

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that while his wife was seated in the front passenger’s side seat, the passenger’s side air bag warning light indicated that the air bag system was turned off and remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 7,305.
