Notably, no warning lights or dashboard messages appeared prior to the failure, making it difficult to detect the issue early. At this time, the vehicle is available for inspection and can be evaluated by a dealership, certified technician, or manufacturer representative upon request. Since brand new the electronics have been defective. The lane keep assist has to be turned off during slippery road conditions because the computer jerks the steering wheel during normal driving where white road markings, such as merging lanes are present. During highway speeds on slippery snow or ice it nearly sends the vehicle into a dangerous maneuver. The backup camera was defective intermittently since it was new and was unable to be corrected by the dealer shop during its first new vehicle service. The rear camera has now gone completely out which is standard safety equipment. A dealership has ordered a new backup camera part. The transmission jerks and lurches. Odd shifting is normal for this vehicle which could lead to transmission failures which could lead to a collision.

Digital dash went black when I started my vehicle, remained black even when I turned off the vehicle and restarted.

On March 22, 2026, I was driving at approximately 45 mph, and my daughter was in the passenger seat, trying to connect her music to the car radio and the instrument panel (dashboard) screens went completely blank. For several seconds, I had not readings from the dashboard lighting. It went completely black. It then reset itself, much like a computer when you restart it. Within a short time (less than a minute) the instrument panel began working again. This was the third time this has happened to this vehicle. The first time was in July 2024 and the second time in November 2025. Both of those incidents were reported to NHTSA. There had been a software recall for NHTSA 23v744000 for this very problem in 2024 Chevrolet Trax, but my VIN was not included in the safety recall for increased risk of crash. I brought the Trax to the dealership after the third incident. They did a software update on 25-na-071. I hope this remedies the problem.

I was driving 70mph down the highway, electronics blacked out, when they finally came back, the check engine light came on. Got to dealership, had 18 codes, engine, transmission, and electronics issues. Car is two weeks old with 498 miles on it.

The bluethood and carplay not work everytime I conect and driving long drives take me out I can cinect back and driving I don't feel save drving with the map using my carplay take me out so for safty I use my phone insted I car bcs I try to ge some on time and follow the map but take out and I don't where to you get distrstive no redcomend usinf the carplay map no safe is better to use the phone my point is I am paying for this to carplay to work and I can't use it I am goimg to call lemon law th4y sell me a difect car can be fix is not working correct I have this issiue for almos a year my car is a 2025 Chevrolet Trax activ I take 4 time to the dealear to fix it but they told they can't and call more then 20 time to on star and still have the issue.

My 2024 chevy Trax’s engine (1. 2l turbocharged i3 engine) went out while driving on the expressway (about 70mph) in the middle to left lane. I had to come to a complete stop and safely and immediately get my car on the left shoulder without injuring myself or others around me. My own safety was severely at risk as I was as close to the dividing wall on the left side as I possibly could be but cars are racing through right next to me. Another safety risk to be added is I was dropped off in the most sketchiest plaza and stranded from 12/1am-3am. I was left to lock myself in my non operating vehicle in a country I do not reside in. Issue was confirmed the following day or two at a dealership I got the car towed to, they found a hole in my engine block due to a rod. And all documents can be provided. Police and blocker trucks were unable to arrive to the scene for 40+ min and the car was fully investigated by gm. There were no engine lights or warnings on the Chevrolet app or car dash. The only thing I can mention is on my last documented oil change, the oil was low due to high consumption, no leaks were located. Dealership also found the fuse box blown, I assume hot oil gushed all over my wire harnesses or the oil switch flipped the sensor which caused further issues, or simply a power surge. Current cause is unknown.

I was driving down the highway going with the flow of traffic and my car caught fire. I was told by the mechanic that “the turbo line combusted and put a hole in the engine” I’ve also been told “oil got on the turbo belt and caught fire” I’ve also been told “the software recall actually had nothing to do with the software and it was an issue with turbos and something was mechanically wrong with this car. I was in the car with my 9 month old daughter. In the middle lane in the highway. The car instantly stopped accelerating leaving us going very slow compared to others. We could’ve been killed! I had to figure out how to get over and then get my daughter out of the car safely and wait on the side of the highway with a baby for fire and police to come put the fire out. When I was driving it sounded like pressure popped under the car and then I could almost hear pieces flying out. And then the dash lights came on telling me to turn the engine off. It was extremely unsafe and now I’m afraid to even drive with my baby in any car.

The windows will not go down !!! it’s a safety issue as well as the car is fully shut down and the system will not shut off. . I have removed the keys opened the doors locked the doors everything is still on besides the engine. I tried restarting the car and turning off again it will not shut down ! everything is still on! the main safety concern is the windows !!!!.

Vehicle randomly shuts down for few seconds and then restarts - occasionally it will not restart the engine and I have to manually turn the key. This occurs when I am driving and is a safety hazard. I have had battery checked several time and it always passes - I was directed to open a ticket for a recall - as this issue is known with other chevy's. A couple times it occurred while turning the corner - luckily no accident occurred.

When driving, speedometer/rpm dial both go to 0. The “service stabilitrak” message comes on followed by the “service power steering, drive with care” message. The check engine light will also sometimes appear. The transmission is also affected (jerking when changing gears, inability to accelerate properly, revving). Power steering goes in and out. Car doesn’t feel safe to drive while it’s happening. No triggers or commonalities known. Car goes back to normal when left off and turned back on. Code u0073 "control module communication bus 'a' off” appeared with at home obd2 scanner.

The turbocharger gave code p0299 then more extensive look when you try to increase speed the turbo will not boost to allow you to go. 40-45 miles is the highest you can go . Dealership said there we complaints and recalls. The recalls are for 2017 and 2018 chevy Trax. 2019 having the same issue. .

The turbo charger failed suddenly without a prior display of a warning light and was replaced by an independent service center in June 2025. I received a letter from gm in November 2025 stating there was a known "condition" that may cause the turbo charger to need replacing but a recall was not issued. On 1/22/26 the vehicle suddenly went into "limp mode" while driving. The throttle body injection unit, engine coolant water outlet, and coolant were replaced. The coolant had been topped off on 1/20/26. On 1/27/26 the vehicle began shuddering and lost power while I was driving on the highway. As I attempted to get to a gas station off of the next exit, it intermittently lost power and began smoking under the hood. It seemed to be overheating but there is no temperature gauge on the display. I had it towed to my service center again. At that time, four spark plugs and an ignition coil were replaced. After these repairs, I have continued to have significant power issues, the engine warning light has come back on, and the "service brake assist" warning light has come on. Additionally, the instrument panel frequently goes blank or displays what can best be described as "static" and the a/c and heat do not work, making it difficult to defrost and defog the windshield. The wiper fluid will not come out even though the reservoir is full. Due to prohibitive diagnostic fees at the dealership, which I was told would not be waived or reimbursed, I have continued to utilize my independent service center to maintain basic drivability. My service center has advised me that the engine may fail completely within a short time frame. I have reported these issues to the manufacturer and have been assigned a case number. I'm concerned that this may indicate a potential safety defect and/or premature engine failure affecting my vehicle and others of the same model. The vehicle has 2 permanent codes. One is a communication blackout, the other code means the hardware is melting. Gm is doing a formal inspection in April. The ucode meant that the engine stopped talking to the transmission or visa versa. The vehicle “ran my daughter and I” off the highway into the dirt, on 2 different occasions. They are described as “catastrophic engine failures”. The last one occurred on mlk jr day 2026, before the vehicle was permanently grounded. It could have been fatal. Gm is doing a formal investigation to see what liability the have for it because the vehicle is now considered a “lemon”. There were no external (dashboard) warnings before the events, but, there may have been internal ones that require a professional grade scanner to detect. The permanent ucode, which causes a communication blackout, never appeared in the vehicles memory, on a scanner, until after the local gm franchise conducted “repairs” (unsuccessfully) to fix the vehicle. (it wouldnt start, which is often a symptom of a permanent ucode. The gm investigation will determine if the dealership knew the safety liability, (the permanent ucode) and they tried bypassing or ignoring it, or, if they caused the safety defect. Also, the vehicle is now showing a permanent pcode, which means it is now a potential fire hazard.

We have a 2024 Chevrolet Trax purchased in July 2024, brand new with 6 miles. On Jan 9, 2026, we towed it to serra Chevrolet for service due to repetitive screen blackouts and the inability to start the car. On Jan 16, 2026, we picked up the car. The car was diagnosed with a radiator leak, a replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump, and an update to the information system. Within two hours, the car would not start again, and we had it towed back to the dealer. We have been told that it now requires an entirely new engine, and we have been renting a car since January 9th, with no reasonable solutions from the dealer or gm customer care. We have also been informed that the engine is on backorder, and we have no timeline for its repair.

Dashboard screen and video screen have randomly "blacked out" multiple times. Pairing with I-phone and android randomly stops working, wifi and bluetooth randomly not working. It happened on day of purchase and was supposedly fixed. About I month ago I had regular service and has frequently occurred since then. Brought it in today, they couldn't fix and said they needed to call chevy engineer team. Was told car not safe to drive, was given a loaner/rental.

The first problem began at approximately 5,000 miles. After refueling, the vehicle’s transmission would slip severely. The slipping continued to occur intermittently after that point. I brought the vehicle to a dealership initially, I was told that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. After further testing, the dealership identified a transmission issue related to technical service bulletin 25-na-211 and stated that the repair was completed. At approximately 8,000 miles, an additional issue occurred where the check engine light illuminated and a warning appeared indicating that the brakes had stopped working. This was extremely concerning and created a serious safety risk. Following the transmission repair, a new and more dangerous issue developed. The vehicle now fails to accelerate properly from a complete stop. When attempting to accelerate, it becomes stuck at approximately 1 mph for around 45 seconds before finally moving. This happens intermittently and creates a high risk of collision when entering traffic or crossing intersections. These issues—transmission slipping, brake warning alerts, and failure to accelerate—pose a serious safety hazard to myself and others on the road. The vehicle has been taken in for service, but the problems have not been fully resolved. I am requesting that this issue be investigated as a potential defect affecting this vehicle.

The carplay no longer gives me accurate directions. The directional arrow drifts on the map and sends me everywhere except the direct route. I've tried using both google and apple maps to no avail.

I was driving at a low rate of speed after leaving my house and the instrument panel (dashboard) screens went completely blank. It was as if the computer system was resetting/rebooting. Within a few seconds, the instrument panel screen started working again and I could see the instrument panel readings. It was unnerving as I had my daughter with me. This is the second time the instrument panel has gone completely blank. The first time was in July 2024, and I filed a report with NHTSA in complaint number 11677778. That complaint generated no recall for my vehicle even though there is a recall NHTSA 23v744000 for 2024 Chevrolet Trax vehicles with the same problem I have now have had twice. Since this problem has occurred twice, and there is already a recall on 2024 Trax vehicles for the problem I am reporting, there is an electrical system issue that should be corrected as it is clearly a safety issue.

My car has been to the dealership over three times to have my digital dominator and my touchscreen looked at as a blackout in the middle of driving I could be using gps or just talking on bluetooth and it kicks it back onto my phone then I’m becoming a distracted driver because I have to use my gps and now I have to pick up my phone and look at my phone until it decides to pick back up on my screen my screen would blackout. This has been three years of dealing with us. General motors still has no solution to it refused to do a buyback in my car offered me an extra warranty on electrical components but that you can’t even figure out what the issue is. I’m paying almost $700 for a car that I have nothing but issues with.

I am reporting a safety concern involving my 2025 Chevrolet Trax 2rs (VIN: [xxx] ). After a service visit at autonation Chevrolet spokane valley concerning all the following issues on October 31, 2025 (repair order #xxx), the lane keep assist system stopped functioning entirely after that being the main concern I was going into the dealership to get resolved once it tried to automatically steer me into the other lane at 60mph almost causing a life threatening collision. Prior to the visit, the system worked but was malfunctioning— the dashboard displayed the green lane symbol, and the activation button engaged the feature. After service, the symbol no longer appears, and the button lights up but does not activate the system. This change was not authorized, not documented in the repair order, and was never disclosed to me. I believe the lane keep assist system was intentionally disabled or tampered with during service, which poses a serious safety risk. I am also experiencing other unresolved issues including engine ticking, dashboard brightness malfunction, infotainment freezing, and transmission hesitation. I am requesting a formal investigation into whether this dealership improperly disabled a federally regulated safety feature without consent or disclosure. I began experiencing multiple mechanical and safety-related issues within the first few hundred miles of ownership. These include a persistent metallic ticking noise from the engine compartment, sluggish acceleration, infotainment screen freezing and bluetooth malfunction, lane keep assist attempting to steer the vehicle into another lane at highway speeds, and a non-responsive brightness knob. These issues pose safety risks and match known gm bulletins (e. G. , 23-na-094, 24-na-242, 24-na-063, pit6362). I’ve scheduled my first service appointment for October 31, 2025, and installed a dash cam to document future incidents. I am concerned about the vehicle’s reliability and safety.

Blind spot indicator, as well as radio and gauge display are acting less than appropriate blind spot indicator/driver side: engaging without any presence of caution radio and gauge displays: turning back on after vehicle has shut off forward crash collision detection intermittently functions less than equal- has failed in heavy traffic upon forward cars braking, leading to the need to hard-brake.

•the instrument cluster in front of the driver seat went all black. Wouldn't show lane assistance icon, rpms, speedometer, turn signals, warning lights, adaptive speed control. It would show when I clicked the auto stop on/off button if the auto start was turned on or off. Currently is still installed on vehicle. I'm going to the dealership tomorrow after work to see what they will do. •safety of myself by not knowing what speed I'm going or if any warning lights turn on including the brake warning light or the tcs light. Safety of others is the same as safety for myself. •so far the problem is intermittent for me. It happened for the first time today after I left the store, then got home and restarted the engine and it still was a completely black instrument panel. Then I turned it off and disconnected the battery and reconnected it and the instrument panel currently is working again after that. •the component hasn't been inspected by anyone yet but I'm bringing it to the dealership after I get off work. •there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problems prior to the failure. I don't know if there were any when it first appeared because the instrument panel is the problem. . .

The electronic instrument cluster and all gauges (speedometer etc. ) goes blank while driving the vehicle. The instrument cluster comes back on in about a minute. This was a recall item on the 2024 chevy Trax but apparently has not been recalled on the 2025 (same issue on the same car). This has happened multiple times on this vehicle.

There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the battery was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.

I just purchased this vehicle. I found that the fuel filler neck has a leak which is a fire risk. I was initially promised that the part would be replaced in a week, but recently found that the part is back ordered because this is a prevalent issue with 2025 models. At the dealer I was mislead into thinking this isn’t a big issue when it is, I was told I could continue to drive the vehicle with minimal risk but gas has been leaking in my grass and causing it to change colors as well as paying more for gas despite being sold on great gas mileage. To make matters worse worse the vehicle is starting to sputter and has less than 2k miles. I feel that this should be a national recall before someone gets hurt. Chevy Trax are affordable for tons of people if all of us are in combustible vehicles the environment is bound to take a hit. Please help.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Trax. The contact smelled an abnormal burning odor and became aware that the a/c unit failed to operate past level 4. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the connector for the a/c unit had failed and needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic became aware that the wire for the a/c unit was burned, causing the a/c unit to malfunction. The a/c resistor, connector, and a/c blower motor were replaced. The contact stated that the resistor and connector had been burned 3 times and needed to be replaced again. The failure persisted, and the a/c unit continued releasing the burning odor. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was 71,200.

The vehicle shut off completely while driving twice in 24 hours. Lost all power, brakes locked up, first incident on July 26, 2025. Vehicle did restart after and was able to drive home. Would not start, had no power on July 26, 2025. Tow truck came, jump started the vehicle. I pulled out of my driveway to take it to the dealer for service of issue, vehicle shut off as soon as I pressed the brake to stop at a stop sign and lost all power again. Brakes also locked up again after the vehicle lost power. Tow truck transported vehicle to the dealer from there.

The coolant reservoir is missing hoses which are supposed to be connected. The head gasket is completely blown out, which is under warranty. Excessive overheating—three signs light up on the dashboard: red thermometer indicating an overheating engine; check engine light; and check engine light with arrow pointing downward indicating engine speed to be reduced. Trax stopped in the middle of the traffic light on and 7/26/25 and had it towed.

Complete bluetooth failure. Apple carplay and android auto constantly disconnect. Has happened since driving off of the lot.
