Warnings Problems of Chevrolet Trax

Blind spot indicator, as well as radio and gauge display are acting less than appropriate blind spot indicator/driver side: engaging without any presence of caution radio and gauge displays: turning back on after vehicle has shut off forward crash collision detection intermittently functions less than equal- has failed in heavy traffic upon forward cars braking, leading to the need to hard-brake.

On October 8, 2025 my cousin, [xxx] , and I were on highway mile 113, 65 north and were about to exit when an ambulance exited onto the highway ahead causing the traffic to suddenly stop. As the traffic stopped, I hit my brake, which usually jolts when I hit it but it didn't this time, the brake didn't feel the same, the brake was soft and it felt like my car wasn't stopping. The warning red light that usually goes off didn't and I hit a Jeep at a speed of about 55 to 60 mph yet none of my airbags diployed. We smelled fire and saw some smoke come in from the vents but couldn't see over the hood that had been bent up, both of our seatbealts had been stretched out so that when we took them off, we could not put them back on, and the adjuster I had on my seatbealt to keep it off my shoulder completely broke off. I pull over as far as I could safely since I couldn't see. The driver of the Jeep got out of her car and inspected it, she came back to the passenger side of my car and said that she was in a rental, there was no damage and couldn't afford to turn in accident in so she had to leave, and left the scene. Both my cousin and I were feeling pain in our chest so when 1st responder came, he called for an ambulance. My car was towed and we were both taken to eskenazi er where my cousin was treated and released the same day. I was admitted into the hospital icu and had emergency cervical fusion spinal cord surgery on October 9, 2025 and wasn't released until October 17, 2025 with ongoing treatment for therapy and loss of mobility of my right arm which is due to nerve damage and abdomen bruising, I am still recovering and have ongoing treatments for my spine. I noticed the alarm didn't sound when it should have times before but since nothing was said about any problem when I took my car in for service in September, I didn't think that there would be an issue like this. Ran into a cemex block with no light pole. The parking lot was dark and cemex block was not marked. Forward collision detection system did not work and airbag ejected some shrapnel cutting my arm and shatter ing my bone in forearm and wrist. I’m lucky it did not hit me in the head or I would be dead today. By the grace of god I’m still alive amen !.

When driving 70+ mph on a county highway a dog ran out in front of my vehicle. There had been a similar instance to this where a car pulled out in front of me on the same road and my car assisted in making a full stop to avoid the accident. However, this did not happen with the dog. There was full impact damage and vehicle has been in the shop for 3+ months awaiting parts for repair.

We have noticed that the check engine does not illuminate when starting or even with active codes in vehicle have brought this to the dealers attention several time to not be acknowlegded the rear brakes lock up when you touch the brake pedal have brought this up several time to not be addressed the vehicle when driving at speeds greater that 55 mph the vehicle goes sideways and scares you have brought up several times to not be addressed the forward collision does not work the vehicle has active codes and the check engine should illuminate and when take in for service we ask why and are just ignored all these problems started 2 days after buying the vehicle in September of 2023. In addition to the transmission leaking, was told however that it is not a big enough issue to be covered under warrenty. These have all been addressed with dealership as well as manufacturer, and as of today 09/20/2025 these issues have not been resolved.
