The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for the windshield wiper blades to be replaced. The contact stated that the mechanic was unable to find aftermarket wiper blades to fit the wiper blade arms due to the design of the wiper blade arm attachment point. The chrome trim reflects the sunlight directly into the drivers eyes anytime the sun is overhead. The sun visors are no help. This can cause temporary blindness. Suggest Chevrolet replace the chrome with a subdued color.

Wipers from the dealer are on back order in some cases and in the cases that they do have they they are trash wipers streaks and smears that just block visibility in snow and heavy rain additionally the arm attachment is completely different than any wiper attachment so you cannot get wipers from any auto part stores.

Oem windshield wipers are failing after only 7000 miles of light use. Wipers smear the water across windshield making visibility extremely poor. There are zero compatible aftermarket wipers that fit the wiper arm. I have visited 3 auto parts stores and none fit. Oem replacements from dealerships are on long back order. I either have to try to use wipers that may fly off during use because the proprietary wiper arm design isn’t compatible with any aftermarket wipers or wait months for another set of poor quality oem wipers.

Additionally, upon taking the vehicle to several independent mechanics for service, the contact was informed that the brake sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. There are no wiper blades available for the 2025 chevy Trax. It utilizes a unique and propertiary wiper arm that accepts no brand of commercially available wiper blades and the oem wiper blades have been "sold out" as long as the vehicle has been available. I've been reduced to using a wiper blade sharpener and universal wiper blade refills just to maintain basic visibility in rainy conditions. On mornings that the temperature drops close to freezing, the nozzles for the windshield wiper fluid freeze and do not operate. Not until the car is at operating temperature does the windshield wiper nozzles work. This is especially dangerous when roads are salted and a salt coating on the windshield leaves drivers blind without fluid to remove it. It also appears that the line to the rear wiper nozzle froze and broke and windshield wiper fluid is leaking. Chevy indicated that the fluid is put in the vehicle at the factory. Either the fluid was incorrect or the design allows for the lines and nozzle to freeze.

I’m reporting a recurring issue with the windshield wiper blades on my brand-new 2025 Chevrolet Trax vehicle. The driver-side wiper blade consistently leaves streaks across the windshield, especially during rain. This significantly reduces visibility, particularly dangerous at night when glare from oncoming headlights worsens the problem. I’ve already had to replace the wiper blades multiple times in just a few months, yet the issue keeps coming back. This poses a serious safety risk, and I’m concerned that it may be a manufacturing or design defect affecting more vehicles. I am told by chevy that I can only purchase the oem wiper blades and I have yet to be able to find any aftermarkets that fit this car. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue before it leads to accidents or injuries.

Unknown. The oem wipers have a large streak in the main field of vision on the drivers side. They only last a few weeks with new oem parts. I’ve tried getting aftermarket replacement s and they don’t fit properly.

On oct 08, 2024 milan tire and brake replace wiper motor part. Since then the wiper motor part only works for about 2 months . They replace it going on 3 times . Just went out yesterday again. On January 29, 2025 milan tire and brake and brake replace wiper transmission .

Chevy Trax has chrome in the interior that reflects the sun and causes blinding effects making the car difficult to control during sunny days. Causes driver to look away creating safety hazard.

I was driving to the post office and it was raining heavily so I turn on my wiper blades however after a couple minutes of doing so I saw my michelin wiper blade silicone pealing off I was about to stop the blades but the michelin blade broke in half and got blew away by wind if I was driving at night and the rain was more heavy and both blades were the same model I probably would’ve have crashed.

Since purchasing the car brand new, the wipers have stopped working mid snowstorm, one time in March and another in April here in colorado. I have had to take the vehicle in 2x to the dealership and waste hours of my time.

I am an 82 year old lady living on a remote ranch in northern montana. Owning a 2017 chevy Trax that has be in the repair shop 6 times since October 2023 to fix the heater fan blower motor that keeps burning up, leaving me with out heat or defrost. Driving home on the evening of 3/21/2024 the fan motor burned up again (6th time since oct. 23) and left me with out heat or defrost. At night, about 10 miles away from home, I tried to drive home. With no heat or defrost my windows started immedlately fogging up . I began to try to wipe the windshield with my hand to be able to see to drive. Frost appeared on the inside of the windshield because of being cold outside. I got to my drive way and went to turn in and missed the approach because I could not see. I ended up going down a steep ditch. When I braked my vehicle a stainless steel thermos dislodged from the center console and hit my right knee, injuring me. Chevy Trax and sonic vehicles from 2014 to 2018 have a defective pigtail from the factory, that causes the heater blower motor to burn up. No recall and as of today chevy has not manufactured a non defective pig tail. I feel this is a really dangerous situation for people in winter climates. Never knowing when the blower motor will stop working causing impaired visability due to the car windows fogging up. Spending over $1,800 on repairs, that can never be fixed and as my only form of transportation, I am left with out a safe vehicle to drive. On the chevy Trax forum you will see pages of people that have the same problem . The local chevy dealer garage will not make the damage right & are very reluctant to honor the 2 recalls I have had on this car. Arguing with me that there was rodent damage that caused the fan to burn up. Their work order says no damage to the wiring, or no short. Also blaming landreth automotive. The fan motor burns up with in days of repair even after the last chevy garage repaired my car themselves, after blaming it on others.

This vehicle currently had 48,568 miles at time of repair. Windshield wipers were not working properly. Had the issue diagnosed at rd banks Chevrolet in champion, OH. They determined it to be a windshield wiper motor. Seems too soon to have to replace. It did however, correct the situation.

Sun roof unexpectedly shattered.

Car was parked, idling, and suddenly the drivers side window shattered into many pieces. Some dropping into door but mostly window stayed intact.

When I am driving there is a loud knocking sound always. It happens while driving at any speed, turn, and parking. When I hit about 40 mph, the vehicle steering wheel starts shaking and it is difficult to control vehicle. I can feel the knock underneath my feet while driving. In regards to the electrical system the radio freezes frequently and rear view parking camera has malfunction. In regards to the windshield wiping systems it just stopped working. Fluid does not come out at all making it very difficult to see the in various conditions. I have to pull over wherever I may be, use a water bottle to throw water on window to see then turn the wipers on. I even have to do it while driving especially on the expressway in rainy/dusty/muddy conditions. My family and I are worried and definitely not happy about these conditions. Kingdom Chevrolet sold us a faulty vehicle and now claim that we have to pay $135 for each and every issue which is insane for a diagnostic.

A thick film appears on the windshield throughout the car as if someone was smoking cigarettes or some type of substance. This film shows up on the car windows every 3 days if you don't wash the windows it gets thicker. We have taken the vehicle back several times and they can't seem to find the cause. Also if you drive for more than an hour your eyes will start to burn and it will make you feel sleepy. This is not safe. The dealer just keep washing the windows. Something needs to be done.

I had just purchased my chevy Trax on July 10, 2018. It had 14,600 miles on it. I went out to my garage on July 31, got into my vehicle and shut my driver's door at which time the window glass behind me shattered into a thousand pieces. Glass went everywhere, inside and out. This happened while the vehicle was stationery and not running.

I scraped my passenger side rear view mirror and it completely shattered. I have been trying to get the part replaced since February 13, 2018. I had been told that it needed to be special ordered because parts were not available for my vehicle anywhere in the us. I was told yesterday that the part is on back order with no date of availability. Even with the side mirror the car has dangerous "blind" spots and without the mirror it is very unsafe to drive. I now find myself locked in a lease on a vehicle that cannot be repaired to a safe driving condition.

Visibility drops dramatically to low beam , it is terrible at night in rain. I have to brake when oncoming cars approach,almost to a stop. High beams very bright glare from road signs. It takes a few seconds to adjust from high beam to low beam,very dangerous . This happens when night driving on all roads. Happens in all rain conditions.

Nov 2015 radio continues to play after I exited and walked away, this happen 2-4 additional times. Nov. 2015 after a heavy rain there would be static in the radio, the inside door panel would be wet. 11/21/15 the inside windshield had condensation and frost, the videos provided will show 2 additional times the condensation inside was present. March 2016, check engine light came on and remained on for a few days. The following events all happened between Jan 2016- present, dashboard display would flicker, and go dem both daytime and night (while in motion). The back up camera would go black when it reappeared it would have red and yellow streaks. The display would go black, I could hear the radio playing but screen would be black( while in motion). The start up display would freeze as well as the back up camera freezes and I don't know that is anything or anyone behind me, check engine light came on again (while in motion). Most recently the dashboard display is not always present only a black screen, and the headlights are intermittently going completely out when put in park and after about 10-15 seconds comes back on. All other issues the vehicle was stationary. When filling up the gas tank I use to get approximately 370 miles until empty, however intermittently I now get 290-386. The file of all the receipts I've receive from billion when I would take the vehicle in, is to large to attach. Which are videos that show the condensation and the check engine light on.
