The dealer stated that this was normal and she could call the gm manufacturer. The contact called gm and they stated that it was a design flaw that they are aware of; however, there was no remedy. The current mileage iss 23,100. Updated 03/04/09. The door open warning system did not operate properly/ when the vehicle was starte with the door opened, the message remained illuminated even when the door was closed. The only way to clear the message was to turn the vehicle off and restart it. The parking brake message also illuminated. Updated 03/04/09.

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander. While driving between 30-40 mph, the rear sliding doors opened automatically. The contact pulled off the road and on star connected her to a dealer. The dealer instructed her to bring in the vehicle for service immediately. Once at the dealer, they could not identify any failures with the vehicle. The failure has occurred on three separate occasions (November of 2007, December of 2007, and on April 28, 2008). The dealer was notified after each failure. The manufacturer was also notified and took a complaint from the contact. The failure mileage was 30,037. Updated 07/15/08. The interior lights would flickered while driving. The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander. Whenever the headlights are activated, the instrument panel lights will flicker and the headlights will eventually shut off. The contact also noticed that the power sliding doors will not open unless the vehicle is restarted after being turned off. The door failure occurs intermittently, but the headlight failure occurs each time they are in use. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer, but the failures are still occurring. The current mileage was 19,104 and failure mileage was 80.

The vehicle's front suspension was inspected by the dealer who determined a front alignment was needed. Afterwards, the problem persisted, and the vehicle was returned to the dealer, who determined all four tires were worn and needed to be replaced. The tires were continental p225/60r17. Additionally, the dash instrument cluster panel lights and headlights flickered on and off while the vehicle was at an idle. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer, who determined the sensor for the exterior lights needed to be replaced. After replacement of the tires and lighting sensors, the problems persisted. The manufacturer was alerted.
