Daughter entered passenger side of van through large sliding door. Front passenger seat was fully forward. Fell on exposed seat adjustment rails. Required 13 stitches to close wound just below knee. Rails were manufactured with sharp 90 deg corners and no protection. Rails are exposed by approx 4 inches when front passenger seat is fully forward. Same problem exists on driver's side.

Several months ago, a hole appeared in the driver's seat of my year old Chevrolet Venture van. The dealership informed us that something about the way that the airbag was installed in the seat was causing problems and that they had replaced several seats in other Venture's, both for the hole and the potential safety defect in the airbag. Now, the same type of hole has appeared in the front passenger seat. The van is now 18 months old and has over 36,000 miles, so the dealer refused to be of any assistance with the problem. This is not an ordinary hole caused by wear. It was caused by a safety defect in the design of the seat which could affect the function of our side airbag, according to the dealers own remarks to us. Should not a safety defect caused by poor design be covered by the manufacturer whether the vehicle is under warranty or not?.

Consumer had noticed when covers on seats get hot they will open, side air bags and wires could be seen. Consumer believed it was a safety concern. Right third row seat was bent, dealer made adjustment. Vehicle is extremely hard to stop.
When brakes are applied seats dislodge, they do not hold in place. Passenger was thrown forward. Dealer not willing to do anything.
Was rear-ended. I was not moving at the time, was hit at approx 35-40mph. My(driver) seat flew back and collapsed, twisted. I was injured, resulting in possibly permanent nerve damage. Never occurred to me that this was a design flaw that contributed to my injury. Tv news program indicated there was a problem with gm seats and just this type of collision. I thought I should speak up! my van was totaled, as was the vehicle of the person who hit me. Very lucky that my pregnant passenger's seat did not suffer the same fate as mine, or her beautiful son might not be here.
Passenger kneeling on front passenger seat facing backwards, passenger slipped off the seat and hit by defective rail on which the seat moves forward. The rail is dangerous there should be a covering over the cut off metal. Yh.
Can raise bucket seat in 2nd row on passenger side. However, seat would not be locked on track, in position. Also, whenever brakes are applied, they would move either up or down & then squeal. Will be taking vehicle to dealer to have it checked.
Driver's side seat is poorly designed and leans on consumer's back. This problem is creating severe back problemsfor consumer. Manufacturer and dealer notified. However, dealer refused to return consumer's calls.
A child was sitting in the front passenger's seat. When the seat was pushed back, about 3 inches, that the seat slid back and forth on the railing. The sharp edge of the railing, cut the child's ankle. Dealer contacted and said that sharp edge should be covered with duct tape. Manufacturer contacted and was not aware of the problem. Ak.
Reported to dealer and showed my deep cut to my finger, no response from gm.

In rear impact 10-15 mph the rear left side bench seat collapsed due to a poorly designed weld to the floor that broke off during the rear impact.
Driver lifted the handle of seat and there was a hole which was located underneath handle. This hole caused the consumer to get finger caught and completely cut off. Dealer said when they come up with an idea to fix problem they would contact consumer. Only had the vehicle for 24 hours.
1. The automatic power door has no sensor. If you are standing in its way when the door is closing, it will close on you before it retracts. If my child would get caught in the door, it could do substantial harm. 2. There are 2 bucket seats in the back of this minivan. They are spaced 4. 7 inches apart. My son who is 2 years old (35lbs and 38") was inside the car and reached between the seats to retrieve something in the trunk area. He became wedged between the seats and could not free himself. Thankfully, we were able to lift him out before anything happened. If this incident happened during the summer and we did not notice he was in the car, he could have suffocated. 3. The way the car is designed with all bucket seats, it makes it impossible to attach booster seats and car seats properly. The buckles that clasp the seatbelts do not stand up to face upwards, they face to the front of the car. Therefore, you can not get a good connection for the seats to fit securely. I went to car seat clinics sponsored by chevy and the "professionals" could not get the seats to fit properly and without movement. For a car that was designed with children in mind, they did a sorry job. I feel this car to be unsafe for any child under 40 pounds! please do not take these problems lightly - my children's lives are at stake.
My 13 year old son reached under the rear bench seat to hide his cd player in a parking lot of a mall and was severly cut by a sharp plate that is part of the seat. We had to go to the emergency room where he received 5 staples in his thumb. Gm is taking no responsibility because they stated that you should not reach under any seat. The dealership checked the part and said it is faulty. It was left extremely sharp and had metal spurs sticking out. They believe it to be defective. They glued door trim to it for safety. I am concerned about this part. Please help.
Seat tracks are very sharp causing injury to child when he fell down in the car and hit his knee on the track, causing injury which required 5 stiches. Nlm.
