general problems of the 2012 Chrysler 200

For weeks now ive been noticing a weird grinding or dry rubbing sound underneath the front end of my Chrysler. Checked it out a few times, as though I am not a mechanic I can identify the basics of something not right. However, after my husband and his brother both looking it over on seperate occasions, they have noted a leak under the carriage of the car. Often here recently, the guage senses an over heating of some sort. Since this notice, we have replaced the oil cooler twice in a year; as well as flushed the hoses associated with the coolant reservoir. Fixed temporary but has now already started getting too hot. Which simply tells me that its something further internal thats wrong. I was informed of an engine recall: l33 of my Chrysler model. However havent seen one on this website. When driving yesterday, I noticed a light on my cluster that indicated the traction has failed. When I brake, all u hear or feel is a vibration under your feet, up front. I replaced my brake pads all 4, within the past 4 months and theyre now rusted over and u notice a brake fluid leak on the front right side. After a light, the grinding noise, the vibration and the overheating; I am positive that this will eventually cause a car stall or worse a fatal accident. My brakes could eventually fail while driving in traffic, causing a crash. Or my car could just all out stalland the cluster can trip and I could be in harms way if at the time it does this I could be goin 70 on the interstate or in a turninglane in town and without proper fix; it could easily cause a fatal accident and I could be killed or worse my children!.

When driving the vehicle will suddenly shut off. No warning of it about to happen just does. I lose steering and brakes and turns on only after time goes by or by removing negative terminal from battery. It's happened at 35mph and at 60 mph. I've gone a week with no incident to having it happen dozens of times on a single trip. Very scary situation. Especially in traffic.

I was driving my car on 295 s yesterday and it lost power and the hot oil light came on and I had to pull over because I was almost hit by an 18 wheeler and sit there for 30 minutes and it states it is a transmission problem and this is the second complaint I have sent to you and I have tried to call but no one is answering or they hung up on me. 05 .

To start off the abs and traction control will not stop turning off and on even after replacing everything . Almost all the time when it rains they will kick in the e brake and start grinding . No matter how many times I change the brakes and rotors and master control they never stop squeaking . Lastly almost all the electrical problems started after the alternator failed and I had to replace it . My speedometer just died on me today and I have no clue how that happened .

I have to replace my brakes every 2 to 3 months and it has become very costly for me. I have to replace my rotators twice a year.

"takada recall" while driving down the road at 40 mph. I heard a chime and looked down at my instrument panel. The abs and the electronic stability control was on. Light was on for both. But instead of the esc it was the little car with wavy,jiggly lines under it. These two lights have been on constant for a good 3 weeks. It has gone out while driving a few times for a few minutes just to come back on and stay on almost all the time. There is no flashing of the lights. I don't drive every day. I drive around 5 times a week and short distances of 2 to 4 miles for the most part. There is also a whistling nice coming from the front of the vehicle. I don't think it is very safe to drive since the brakes and traction of the car are all to important part of me and my families safety. Please help with this issue. I paid and am still paying a lot for this car that now has 62000. Miles on it.

Mold inside passenger door and back left side door, every time it rains, water collects in the door and never comes out - causing mold to form. Car has never been wrecked and it was bought brand new.

Our airbag lights are on. We got notified by the dealership of the recall. But this matter regarding the wheel bearings is a serious matter. I've repaired my car 5 times all around the car. That's not normal. All of these vehicles have a similar issue in the rear end where when I'm driving and hit a bump, the rear end shifts left or right.

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 200. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 13v282000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. On a separate occasion, when the brakes were applied and the gear was placed into park, the vehicle accelerated through a wall. The air bags deployed. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and later towed to geico. The front end of the vehicle was replaced. The dealer diagnosed the brakes. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.

When I brake on bumpy road the car drifts to a stop instead of coming to a stop.

Transmission rebuild and three torque convertors in 6 mo heater warm on left cool on right engine stalls on highway heat worked when taken to draler. They replaced sa clicking blend door actuator in the morning there was warm air on the left and cool air on the right' dealer says need a heater core and radiator. This happened overnight? recall onairbags. No airbag light on at dealer, they flashed the tipm as per recall, now airbag light is on code reads replace occupant controle module. They claim this not on the recall,11v315000.

I purchased a 2012 Chrysler 200 from carmax located in memphis tennesse back in July 6, 2015. After a few days of purchase I noticed the brakes were not working properly. I took the car back in immediately for service and the service manager advised it was just a small problem and assured me that it was fixed. In August I had the same problem and took it back to the service department ( please be advised I am employed and I have to drive from pine bluff to memphis) at that time the service manager advised that it was some kind of fluid and the problem was fixed. This was all done during the factory warranty. On November 8, 2015 my brakes began to drag and was barely stopping I took it back to the service department and demanded for the problem to be fixed back to factory profection. Mr. Joe brown advised that it would be covered under my warranty but I advised that the car was never repaired correctly under factory warrenty. I had to pay a 50. 00 dollar deductible and fifty towards a rental car deposit. I was called on 11/13/2015 and adivsed that my car was ready. I couldn't pick the car up until Saturday morning 11/14/2015. When I came to retreve my car my car was just sitting in the parking lot and no service worker was there to drive the car with me to ensure that it was working properly. In conclusion my brakes are still not working and it could have caused me my life on this morning 11/17/2015. The brakes are worse. I am in tears because I am a recent graduate and I am working to pay bills and student loans. This is what place american people in proverty when someone sales you something and it only works for a short period and you pay for warrenty and that doesnt help neither. Please help.

2012 Chrysler 200 shut off while driving 45 mph down the hwy with 2 children in the car. I lost power steering and my brakes. Luckily, I made it to the side of the road. It restarted once I turned the key to off first, but shut off on me a second time while idling a few minutes later. I have not driven it since.

After putting on 4 new tires and new front brakes, we noticed an issue with the steering column clunking, and feeling very loose. After three trips to the service counter at a Chrysler dealership, (you would think that they would know what the problem was), I have figured out the issue thanks to youtube. Apparently, I there are many others having the same issue. And, I called Chrysler directly, and the girl that I spoke with stated that the part had been recalled on other Chrysler products, but not on my car. This part needs to be recalled. You feel like you are driving down the road, and the car is falling a part. You feel like parts could fly off at any time. Very disappointing! and, just out of warranty. In traffic, steering wheel tightened up and all interior lights were off. Tried to brake but no response, shifted into neutral restarted the car and it turned back on. Seemed to mess up the shifter a little in the process, as well as almost hitting the car in front of me. Probably going about 10-15 mph, and I was lucky to throw the car in neutral and restart otherwise I would of floated into an accident.

Every time you reverse back-up the car you will hear a loud piercing horrendous and annoying sound.

Break light in dash comes on and off constantly.

The brakes have a high pitched squeal either in reverse or forward for the first mile of driving, but on occasion it has happened while driving for a while to. I took to the dealership and they said there is nothing they can do because they are steel brakes with metal on metal and it is normal. They said it replaces the abestoes brakes. I know other people with new cars and do not have this issue.

When in reverse brakes squeal, under any conditions. Took to dealer, was told by dealer that all cars do this when backing. Smh.

Driving vehicle to investigate symptoms and during regular casual driving the car stalled, hydraulic brakes went and steering locked while slowing through a school zone. I'm a certified tech with h-d, kawasaki, BMW, and have never had a service manager deny a request that involved serious systems like this until today. That is why I'm filing this complaint on your site, I was told by the s. M. That they couldn't get my 29 day old 200 in before next week Monday! this is not a safe car, anyone reading this please do not buy this car!!!! mdm.

Within 2 days of purchasing this vehicle, rear brakes were squealing like they would do if they were due to be replaced. I brought it back to the dealership and they supposedly inspected them and told me "its just rust from sitting on the lot and it will clear up after you drive it a while", it continued and a couple months following the first visit I returned with the vehicle and told them it still was making the noise and they checked it out again and said "OH, its just dust on the brakes and if you step on your brakes hard at about 40 mph that should take care of the problem". Here we are 2 years later and the rear brakes still make the squealing noise. About June/July of this year timeframe I brought my vehicle in to the dealership because I have about 5 different spots on the hood and grill of the vehicle has the paint "blistering" and rust underneath. The dealership didn't call me and tell me what they were going to do about it so I called them about a month later. The warranty guy at the dealership told me that Chrysler was going to "send a whole new hood" which I guess didn't make much sense to me but whatever. To date I haven't heard from the dealership any further on this matter and the vehicle is nearing the limits on the warranty period for mileage. Front brake rotor keeps warping and brakes do not work well until rotor is replaced. Car was like this from day 1, dealer said it was fixed 3 times but it wasn't. I have replaced all front brake parts myself 2 times, and it is still bad. Cannot drive the vehicle anywhere if the roadway is in a mountainous area. 05.

When slowing down almost to a stop, the vehicle downshifts hard. It cause a shutter or jerk and you can feel even in the brakes. Feels awful and cannot be normal. Also, when accelerating, the vehicle pulls hard to the right.
