1 Software problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2017

My stepdaughter's car (2012 Chrysler 200), apparently has a bad tipm. Took it to checker who diagnosed the "check engine" light which had come on and told us it was most likely the tipm. We then took it to the local Chrysler dealer (earnhardt, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, ram in gilbert, az) for an n38 recall issue (active head restraint/air bag) they told us they would reset the tipm module and we were hoping to have the issue resolved. It should be noted that before we took it for the recall issue, the car had seemed to be working fine and mysteriously the check engine light had turned off. Well, lo and behold after they reprogrammed the tipm and did the air bag recall we picked up the car and my wife immediately noticed that the check engine light had reappeared and the car was once again driving like shit! I came home and started doing research and found this webpage that told me to file complaints, however, I also noticed that there was apparently a software patch that Chrysler came out with as a result of this problem. I called Chrysler @ 800-992-1997 thinking I might get someone who could give me more information but of course this hapless character didn't know what the hell I was talking about in reference to a "software patch" he did call the dealership we were just at for the recall, but of course, got nothing but an answering machine. He told me he left a message and they would call back Monday to talk about our concerns. I'm not holding my breath waiting for the call. What bothers me most, and is extremely frustrating is the fact that thousands of people have contacted Chrysler and other sources and have gotten nowhere.

2 Software problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2017

I am writing this complaint in response to my 2012 200 Chrysler which has completely lost all power. It started out with the windshield wipers stopping on me and then one day while driving the car I lost power. The steering wheel locked up and the car came to a complete stop. Luckily I wasn't on the highway and was pulling into the parking lot of my office building. After speaking with Chrysler I was told there was nothing they could do since this part is no longer covered under warranty. It seems strange to me that this part on my car had a recall for the software a few years ago and now the hardware is bad. I see a ton of complaints on this very issue including a lawsuit. If safety is of concern, it would seem like they would anything in their power to help the consumer.

3 Software problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2017

My car received a software update for the pcm on 3/2/2017. On 03/6/2017 my car shut off completely in the middle of driving down the interstate.

4 Software problem

Failure Date: 04/29/2014

Wipers only work on high. Wiper motor shorted to ground causing internal collateral damage to tipm. Removed and replaced wiper motor. Removed and replaced tipm and updated software.

5 Software problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2012

First time car wouldn't start. Dealership charged battery and did software update. Second time car wouldn't start they replaced battery. Third time car wouldn't start battery completely drained they said it was a glove box switch. Fourth time car wouldn't start they said it was the usb cable keeping the radio powered on all the time. Same Chrysler dealership worked on it all four times. Brand new car bought August of 2012. All four times have been in less than two months! this car is not safe. Chrysler is not doing the right thing by their customers! any help would be appreciated. In the USA we should not have to put up with being ripped off like this.
