Unknown- I was driving and it was storming bad, I accidentally drove through this road that was flooded and my car then said throttle control and my car started to not drive as well then when I took a turn my car stopped and it would not move. I turned it off and it started going again, then when I was going up a hill while I trying to turn my car would not move, the vehicle stability indicator turned out and so many more signs, so then I tried to turn my car off again and it was stuck in drive and would not turn off, I wasn’t able to move the gears it was locked on drive but not moving so I had to disconnect my battery and then it started moving again, not safely but I made it home. Please what do I do.
Vehicle has 46,000 miles on odometer. A year ago the "service airbag system" light would intermittently illuminate. It is now staying lit all the time. I was speaking with an acquaintance as they had the same vehicle. Theirs caught on fire under the seat in the electrical connection box for the airbag. I took it to a few of our local mechanics and they say it is a substantial safety issue as they pulled the codes b0028-13 and b0020-13. Right side and left side seat deployment squib circuit open. The airbags will not deploy upon impact. The consensus from the mechanics was that Chrysler has known this is a common problem in these vehicles and needs to address the repair. After calling Chrysler and finding out they do know this is a problem in design it will still cost $4000. 00 to repair as it's not covered under warranty. This vehicle is unsafe and it makes me wonder how many people are driving these vehicles not knowing the potential danger. It will be going to the dealership when one of them can "fit me in".
I took my car to carman Dodge chrylser dealer located 196 s dupont hwy , new castle DE, 19720. My car was scheduled for a recall repair u90 and power train software update. I took my car in 4-10-25 and it stayed overnight until 4-11-25. When receiving my car I was presented with new issues that caused a no bus code and radio died. My car had no internal issues prior to taking my car to the dealer for recall repairs. I have all the documentation and employees names for the service department. I was told by my advisor lance grey and supervisor joseph troboletti that there is nothing else they can do. Other than these new problems that occurred just so happened to be coincidental. And in order to get things replace I would have to wait until July and I may be eligible for a small discount on the parts. So that means I would have to wait 3 months to get repairs and drive a car with my children with no working windows , radio and etc.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the instrument cluster flickered, and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The transmission jumped into neutral while going 65mph also indicating “service park brake” and “service transmission”. The vehicle slowing down almost caused another vehicle to rear end me as I was looking for a safe place to try and pull over. No one has inspected properly these vehicles despite numerous customer complaints of the same nature. The car had no lights on but afterwards the power train light came on.

I believe the brake or something related to the brakes failed. I ran a stop sign, with no evidence of brake marks on the road. I crossed over a highway hit a side walk almost hit a house. The safety of myself and others was at extreme danger. When finally came to a stop I couldn't put my car in park, or back in drive or shut my car off, I beleive I had no braking or something electrical failed. My car is totaled. The only light on was the airbag light before the accident.
Throttle- my car just shut off and won't turn back on I had a computer update last week and then a week later I shut the car off like normal and tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't do nothing. The dealership did a pcm update of service bulletin 18-020-17 on 6-1-23. I had drove for 2. 5hrs without any warning lights or anything suggesting a problem.
While backing up in my parking space, my car completly shut off. The steering was locked and the car would not start back up. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to restart.
My vehicle Chrysler 200 2016 has several car mechanical issues. The shifting gears. Rough shifting while driving. The affected vehicle would lurch through gears, and it would sometimes shut down or automatically shift to neutral. Grinding or a crunching sound. Clutch slips or doesn't “feel right” burning smell or high engine revs. Car started rough, shifting and having transmission problems a year after we had it. Airbag sensor won’t turn off.

Electrical system under the seats smoked and went out for the air bags. Cost me $2,200 dollars out of pocket. I am on social security. Can't afford such dept. Brakes are sluggish and can't be trusted to stop quickly. Power train ,electrical system,engine not safe. Electrical system, service brakes, forward collision avoidance system needs to be looked at and replace if needed.
My car stalls when cranking and has shut down before while on the interstate. I think it’s an electrical problem no signs on the dashboard and saying key fob not detected.
Car is stalling for unknown reason without any warning or light appearing on dash. Feeling unsafe especially when driving on the highway because I never know when it will happen. Has been happening every day for the past 3 days. Happened in the beginning after a couple months of having the car and the first time I took it in, they couldn't find anything wrong or replicate the problem.
Driving and the car just completely shuts off and/or malfunctions. It’s been when I’m slowing down to make a turn. The computer system/car shuts off and it’s impossible to get it turned back on for 1-4 minutes. Very dangerous and almost gotten into an accident twice now.
About 2 weeks ago , my car began malfunctioning and randomly shutting off while driving. The car gives no indication that there is an issue before hand which is dangerous. It has happened to me while entering the freeway and while on regular streets. In addition, when this happens, my gearshift somehow gets stuck which makes me unable to move the car. Sometimes I cannot turn the car off, it would get stuck running. The shift would malfunction illuminating other shifts even though it is stuck. This issue has happened to me again in the wee hours of this morning at 3am on a dark road. I feared for me life… I see that this is an ongoing issue in many complaints that I see but there has been no resolve from the manufacturer. Please help.
Airbag light has came on with dealership replacing the wiring harness under the seat twice. The light is now on for a third time. After online forum research, I learned that wiggling the wiring connections can get the connection back and airbag light to go away. It worked. Numerous complaints of loose wiring. Purchased the vehicle brand new currently with 125k miles. First repair was free. Second was out of warranty and I had to pay for parts.
The Chrysler 200's engine keeps suddenly shutting off while driving, mainly while making turns on streets and freeway on/off ramps. There are no warning lights, sounds, or visual cues to indicate any sort of problem. Sometimes the vehicle may just stall, most other times it just turns off and asks that I switch the shifter to park to then turn the vehicle back on. My car gave me a service airbag message when I started it on July 31st. I already had an appointment scheduled with a Chrysler dealer to resolve an unrelated recall issue, so I asked them to look into what was causing the airbag issue, as well. They told me that the jumper wiring needed to be replaced on both sides of the vehicle in order to resolve diagnostic code b0020-13. They quoted me over $2,800. 00 to fix the issue and told me that my airbags would not go off if I were to get in an accident unless the repairs were made. I am unable to afford this, so I contacted fha customer service to seek cost assistance, but was told my car is too far out of warranty. My car only has 78,000 miles, so I should not have any safety issues with it. I was told by the technician that this is a common problem with my vehicle. Seeing as this is a safety issue and it is a common issue, I believe it is worth investigating to determine if it is caused by a manufacturing defect. I, like most people, cannot afford this costly of a repair, so I am putting my life at risk each time I drive my car, which I now know will not deploy the safety bags if I get in an accident. To make matters worse, I had to pay a $150. 00 diagnostics fee just to find this out.
The airbag light comes on constantly, it puts myself or anyone who is in my car at risk. It says to check the airbag and the wiring under the seat is the problem. It's loose. I constantly have to wiggle it for it to go away and a dealership wants to charge 300 dollars for a diagnosis and repair. If I crash, I feel as if the airbag will not deploy and it seems a lot of people online have the same issue when googling the problems.
3 ongoing problems. 1. Our car dies while driving. This is dangerous. Tonight is the 3rd (maybe 4th) time in about a year or year and a half or so. The first two times modesto Jeep Dodge Chrysler determined it was too low on oil (but the mileage was much less than when oil change was due according to my oil change sticker. Also very dangerous because there is never an oil light that comes on the dashboard to warn oil low. About 3 months ago it died 500 miles before oil change supposed to be due. Tonight it died again with no warning. Oil change is not supposed to be due for another 1000 miles. Very scary. No warning light. 2. After I'm stopped at a stop sign or light then during acceleration car jerks. 3. I've had this car about 3 years. The airbag light came on shortly after I owned the car. Never been in an accident in this car.
My service airbag light comes on and off frequently. Sometimes it'll be on when I start my car, and the it'll turn off again when I make a turn, adjust my seat, etc. Its a strong belief that im having the underseat wire harness issue that many others are having. I have yet to take it to a mechanic to have it looked at as I don't readily have the money to repair an issue, especially considering I've seen a few people say they have this issue addressed repeatedly. This is a major safety concern and I fear if I happen to get into an accident that my airbag will not deploy because of it.
My car is stalling and having trouble to restart I have had more than five occurrances the car was in motion as I slowed down to make a turn does it more when I turn left.
When I accelerate from a stop sign or from a stopped position the vechicle will rev high and not pick up speed. It will stall in the middle of an intersection or as I am driving. This has been occurring since I purchased the vehicle in March 2016. When the vehicle is being started, the car engine and electrical system flickers uncontrollably. All of the lights on the dash board goes off and on the dials goes up and down. The engine shacks as it would like to start but doesn't. It would take up to 2 to 3 times to restart the car to work properly. Recently April 2, 2021, as I was driving majority of the lights came on, transmission, parking brake, abs lights came on. The power steering is not fully functional and the transmission is not reacting normally. As I accelerate during tgis time the traction control symbol flashes and yhe car has difficulty picking up speed. The car has a increasingly difficult time accelerating. If I were to accelerate too quickly the vehicle will rev high and the fears will not catch properly.
Car is stalling while making turns. There is no indication, no warning lights on the dashboard. There is a warning advisory that the safety passenger bag is not working.
Car stalls loses power dies in the middle of intersections and busy highways has very high oil consumption no low oil indicator light has ever been displayed I have almost lost my life my children's lives even my family and friends lives due to this issue it's also causing me lots of extra expenses which might I say have gotten very expensive time after time again replacing the burnt oil all the time tow truck fees mechanic fees hotel fees part fees rental car fees all because the manufacturer of this vehicle could care less the safety of the people should always be more important than anything else point blank.
Blower motor resistor fails causing heat to stop working causing check engine light. The car was making a raddling sound than the heat shut off the car was stopped.
Wire connector under the passenger seat disables the airbag and turns on the srs light with the code b0028-13 right side airbag circuit open. I have noticed that fca is aware of the problem as the fix is to replace the wire connectors under the seat. As an alignment mechanic I am in and out of a lot of vehicles and just about all of the 2015 to 2017 Chrysler 200s I have worked on have this code, some also have b0020-13 which is the left side seat air bag circuit open.
Engine stated overheating. Sometimes will not start and acts as if it will shut off while driving. I was told the active grille shutter failed on the car and have only had it for 3 yrs. I see a lot of review on these parts failing meaning they were made poorly. You don't know if the vehicle is going to cut off on you while your driving due to the air not being filtered to the engine. I feel like this is a safety hazard and should not have failed this fast.
Switching the gear knob when trying to park, it switches back to neutral. . Have to try a couple of times before it actually switches and goes into park.
My car will not recognize my key fob. All the lights in my car will light up on the inside but it will not unlock. If I unlock it with the actual key in the door, the alarm will go off. I will be driving and my car will notify my that my key fob has left the vehicle when it clearly has not. I have had the key fob replaced and changed batteries in both key fobs that I own. It also will not allow me to start it. This started in June 2020 when I purchased the car new in may 2020.
As I drove the vehicle off the lot located in modesto, CA I drove to my home address which is located in antioch, CA. On my way home the car started jerking when I notified the dealership they said they will fix it and to drop it back off. They had the vehicle for 7 days and did not fix a thing because the vehicle cuts off any power and gas control on the freeway.
I have been informed that I need engine and transmission mounts due to jerkiness in car. I have also had issues with the car shutting off at lights, or any driving situation where I may be at standstill waiting to proceed. Traffic clearing or waiting for parking space. At times it take 3-4 tries before it restarts and there is no warning that it is going to cut off. Lastly, the electrical systems inside car are unstable. The air bag light goes on and off, the bluetooth connection for phone isn't always reliable. Overall I am disappointed and wish I was in position to trade it in. Please encourage people to note issues they are having as well.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at approximately 55-60 mph the vehicle unexpectedly stalled without any warning lights illuminated.
