8 Headlights problem of the 2015 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 05/26/2018

While driving the vehicle the dashboard/instrument cluster keeps on flashing in and out, staying off for at lease 5 seconds at a time. At night the headlights also flicker on and off. The car also tends to pick up speed while braking. Lets talk about the brakes, the brakes absolutely suck, they don't hold properly at all. While coming to a stop I often have to sink my foot into the peddle and give myself extra feet to stop.

9 Headlights problem of the 2015 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 03/26/2018

I have a 2015 Chrysler 200 that has been having some issue with the dash lights flickering and now the lights are going completely out. I thought the instrument panel was the only feature affected until today on my way to work the headlights completely went out as well creating a very bad situation on the highway. I was unable to see while driving down the road for a brief period of time. I just check it for recalls but did not find my vehicle however there are other earlier models that appear to be having a similar issue that were covered by recall is there any way that a recall may be arriving on this vehicle? I have also noticed that the service air bag light came on shortly before all of this started as well as a code was tripped for faulty coolant sensor as well. All maintenance and upkeep has been done on this vehicle including tires pressure sensor replaced and routine oil change as well.

14 Headlights problem of the 2012 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 04/25/2017

Takata recall unknown my car stalled out on the side of the road and I left it there to be picked up by my mechanic the next morning. I found out the next day that my car had been crashed and I went to the tow yard where the vehicle had been taken to retrieve my personal items from the vehicle and noticed that my airbags did not deploy. My car has been considered a total loss by geico car insurance. Geico claim number 0582164930101094. I still have my title, it is a rebuilt one. Geico has been taking their sweet time to reimburse me for my vehicle. The actual accident occurred on April 25th, 2017. The police report is inaccurate. Today is August 30th, 2017 and I'm still waiting on a check. The tow yard has apparently become the lienholder so I've been told and geico has to pay them off before they can pay me? I don't know it's crazy. There would be no lien if geico had handled this in a timely manner. I have had to come out of pocket to purchase a cheap car in the meantime while I wait. I have just recently received emails from carfax saying that my car may be at risk of being recalled so I put in my VIN number (1c3ccbhg0cn327222) and it says that my Chrysler 200 2012 is a s61. However, I was aware the passenger seatbelts were locked but I was still able to wrap the driver's belt around me. Furthermore, I've had numerous headlight issues in both headlights and the ac eventually stopped working. There was also a check engine light on that could not be turned off. I spoke with Chrysler and they told me nothing can be done as far as reimbursement at this point because I have no possession of the vehicle. However, the title is still in my name and the possession issue is geico's fault. I am looking for some type of justice in this situation it could have been me in the crash. I am krista ricard and it says under federal law that my vehicle can be replaced. #16v-668.

16 Headlights problem of the 2015 Chrysler 200

The low beams are blocked by assembly and in order to get them pointed high enough to do any good the high beams dont work correctly. This occurs at all times. If pointed at a wall you can cycle between high and low beams and the low beams show up as a if you were covering half of a normal headlight with a book.

17 Headlights problem of the 2012 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 12/06/2016

The headlight illumination of the 2012 c/200 is driving blind at night and dangerous. There is an extremely limited field of vision and feels like driving with curtain over the lights. The light aims real low and the bulb is too small. Using high beam is not much better. Several times I came very close to hitting another car and person. I feel like I am driving blind and have confined myself to not driving at night. There has to be a remedy for this problem.

20 Headlights problem of the 2014 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 09/01/2016

I purchased a 2014 Chrysler 200 convertible in late August this year, the headlights are so dim in low beam that the vehicle is dangerous to drive. This vehicle is still under factory warranty with only 24k miles. Also when turning, you cannot see road. Have read on internet many complaints of owners. Chrysler has no solution. Driving in low beam is like driving with just parking lights on. I've only had this vehicle 3 months, and I am afraid to drive it at night. Many, many owners have same complaints on internet sites. When I purchased this vehicle, I had to take it in for a right side front alignment,, now I know why, you can't see the road when making turns. There needs to be an investigation regarding the defective design of these headlights.

21 Headlights problem of the 2016 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 05/09/2016

I have noticed that many new led headlights are out and without exception, this is on new Chrysler vehicles. I notice this several times a week. 25 Headlights problem of the 2013 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 10/14/2015

While driving my vehicle in the dark when headlights are on low beam there is no gradual falling off of the light. They light up the road for a few yards ahead and the light immediately ends. It is like there is a wall that stops the light abruptly, I feel very unsafe driving this car after dark and my husband does also. Adjusting lights does not help it is the design. On oct 14, 2015 a deer ran into the side of my car because I was driving with low beams on I never saw her in the road.

26 Headlights problem of the 2015 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 07/01/2015

During normal driving at night, any speed, any type road. There is very limited low beam projection. Appears to be approx. 50' or less(3 white stripes ahead of vehicle). Appears the design of the headlight assy. . The placement of the bulb is either too deep or too high and the top of the assy. Is blocking from a higher projection angle. High beam projection is good. I have contacted my local dealership who advised they have had other customers complain about this but no adjustments have helped. They had no suggestion for remedy. This is very serious safety concern for me and any other owners of the same model vehicle.

27 Headlights problem of the 2015 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 05/18/2015

1) power train-while traveling on interstate at 65mph the transmission pops out of gear. I had to pull over put the car in park and then back to drive before it would go. It also happened when I was pulling away from a stop sign making a right turn it popped out of gear and wouldn't go. I drifted to the side of the road stopped, went to park and back to drive. The car acts confused form time to time. From a stop position at take off the transmission jerks and then thumps before it goes into gear. 2). Cruise control- traveling down interstate in the mountain region of n. Georgia, my cruise was set for 55mph. The cruise picked up speed up to 70 mph then the car started jerking very confused at what it was suppose to be doing. The brake wouldn't release the cruise control. I did get it released once the rpm's settled down. It has happen several times at various locations in the mountains and on flat ground. 3) the head lights are the worst lights I've ever seen on a car. When going down the road you may have 30 ft. That you can see in front of you. When going up and incline what so ever. Your visibility from the headlight is approximately 20 foot in front of you. Terrible headlights. Its scary going up any incline not being able to see what's 25 foot in front of you. All of these issues have been reported at my dealership. All of these issues have happen on more than one occasion.

32 Headlights problem of the 2013 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 09/29/2014

At night 8 pm driving south on I-4 to tampa in rainstorm. Heavy traffic with rain and water off other cars and trucks. Traffic speed 60 mph. Headlights stopped working. Repeatedly turned headlights on and off to try to get them on again. Most of the time you could see the parking lights go on but not the headlights. Twice the headlights flashed on for less than 1/4 second before turning off. After driving 10 miles to the nearest exit and exited I-4 and stopped the car. At this time it was only drizzling and no spray from other cars or trucks. Turned the headlights off again and on and this time they stayed on for the last 50 miles where we had only drizzle and no spray from any cars or trucks. Drove the car another 200 miles but never in anything but mild drizzle but always in the daylight but could not tell any malfunction. Will return to enterprise today and report incident to them.

33 Headlights problem of the 2013 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 06/26/2014

On the drivers side headlight at night after 75 feet their is a black shadow. Leaving you blind when driving thru streets and hillside at night. Traveling at 75 mph on highway leaves no time to stop. Have taken into dealer and told that Chrysler says this is normal will not fix even though they feel it is a hazard. Talked with other owner they also say it is a problem for them and have quit driving at night. Have a printout from Chrysler stating the above.

34 Headlights problem of the 2012 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 12/01/2013

My complaint about this vehicle is the headlights. They are aimed to low, do not project out far enough and the low beam appears to have a dark 'shade' or 'cutoff' at the very top of the light beam. I've never experienced this on any other vehicle and I attribute it to the one bulb system with a 'shutter' this model uses for low and high beams. The high beam is doing what the low beam should be doing. Low beams are completely useless in heavy fog, this is contrary to every other vehicle I've owned. When driving at night, I must resort to high beams when I shouldn't need to. This is especially a factor when descending hills and driving through turns and corners. The headlights on the last three vehicles I've owned were far superior in every way compared to the headlights in the 2012 Chrysler 200 touring model sedan. I took the car to a aaa shop in glen burnie, MD, the service manager said an adjustment would probably not make any difference and the cost was nearly $55. 00. I have not taken the car to a Chrysler dealer because I was quoted $115. 00 for an 'adjustment'. I like this car otherwise and I don't want to trade it in just because the headlights are lousy; they should be a lot better than they are. There are hundreds of posts on the internet of owners having the same issues with the headlights on this model as me. I purchased this vehicle used in March of 2012 and it now has 38,500 miles. Thank you.
