While driving home from dinner my husbands heat stopped working on the passenger side of the vehicle. Ohio winters a very cold. Defrost on the drivers side was working bust the passenger side was not. Within minutes of driving the passenger side of the windshield frosted over making it impossible go see. It was unbearable being in the vehicle it was so cold. We have 2 small children and with a wind chill in the negative digits there is risk for frost bite. They are my biggest concern however what would normally be a 35 minute drive turned into over an hour becaise of poor visibility. How is this not a recall yet. Not being able to see is dangerous and being in a freezing car for over an hour is dangerous.

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 200. While driving unknown speeds, cold air blew out of the passenger side vent without warning. The contact called a local dealer (bob caldwell Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, 1888 morse rd, columbus, OH 43229) and was informed to schedule a service appointment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 56,000.

Clogged heater core on passenger side vents, all floor vents, and now also affecting driver's side. Defroster does not work properly on either side. Only blowing cold "air conditioning" temperature air. This occurred slowly over time but we noticed it the first time while traveling down the highway at 75mph in sub zero temperatures for 13 hours - the issue has progressed over the 13 hour trip and is completely clogged now. Took to an auto shop once at destination but they cannot flush the system because of the poor heater core design that won't allow for the fluid to flow through the dual system.

I have read up on numerous complaints of this and I cannot believe there hasn't been a recall submitted by Chrysler. I even had a past Chrysler mechanic inform me that when he was working for a Chrysler dealership that the dealership received a letter informing them that they would start to see this problem occuring with these vehicles. Unbelievable! and yet no recall has been issued? this needs to be addressed for serious safety concerns before people are killed if it hasn't happened already.

The vehicle was taken to glendale Chrysler (10070 manchester rd, st louis, mo 63122) where it was diagnosed that the engine core radiator, heater core, and radiator cap needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The VIN and failure mileage were unknown.

Heat on the passenger side of the vehicle is blowing lukewarm/cold therefore not defrosting the windshield and passenger window. There's an issue with the thermostats on this particular vehicle where a sludge is building up in them thus causing them to malfunction.

Defrost doesn't work. Dealership calls for replacing radiator, heater core and oil cooler due to sludge build-up/clogging in coolant/heating system. This appears to be due to an incompatibility between the coolant used by Chrysler and the chemicals/oils used in the manufacture of the engine system. This is 100% a manufacturing defect and the dealer & manufacturer are unwilling to replace. Fairly common problem with the 2012/2013 Chrysler 200, regardless of engine type. This is a safety concern as the windshield can become fogged very quickly while driving under the right conditions (damp weather) and without warning, posing a safety hazard. Started about one year ago.

Takata recall no heat on passenger side, blows cold air. Unable to defrost passenger side of windshield. One year later, same problem, no heat passenger side.

The entire heating system for the passenger side does not work. I can be stationary or on a roadtrip. I'm only able to defrost a small part of my windshield making it very unsafe to drive in the winter. I have seen other people with this issue that say it is a manufacture problem and costs around $1,700 to fix. That is unacceptable.

Visibility on the passenger side of windshield is impaired (non existent) the defroster on the passenger side of the car no longer blows warm air instead cold air is being produced from the windshield vent and also heat from middle and side registers on the passenger side. Dangerous for winters in NY. Ridiculous amounts of complaints registered regarding this problem and many costly solutions not resolving the issue. This needs to be a recall from Chrysler.

The heater coil has stop working on passengers side, from build up of sludge. It only blows hot air on driver side, not all the time. So I do not have a defrost to keep my windows clear so I do not good visibility. I have researched up on this issue and a lot of these cars have the same problem.

Both the dash and passenger window defrosters on the passenger side of the car blows cold air. This is not just a comfort issue. The restricted visibility is very dangerous. I wish I would have known before I purchased this vehicle. There are hundreds of complaints online and the cost to fix is ridiculous. This needs to be a recall from Chrysler.

The car had only 35,000 miles when the issue started. Heat stopped working on passenger side. Defrosting is more difficult being that the air is not warm in cold temperatures. Prior to the heat not working on the passenger side the a/c stopped getting cold too. (it was getting cold only on the drivers side).

Defrost does not work and this impairs visibility. Cannot drive car when windshield fogs. Dealer reports that the heater core needs to be replaced at a cost of $2000. This is widespread among this model and similar models according to computer search.

Complaint: passenger seat belt gets stuck when buckled. You have to pull really hard to release the buckle. If I were to get in a wreck I could not get a passenger out of my passenger seat because its too hard to unbuckle. This occurs when car is moving and stationary. Heater problems: my passenger side heat is not working it is blowing cold air and will not defrost the passenger side. Only the driver side right vent blows warm air. This issue occurs when car is stationary and moving.

I own a 2014 Chrysler 200 and my windshield wipers malfunctioned while driving in the rain almost causing an accident. They would only operate on the highest speed setting and would intermittently stop and go really slow. The diagnostic reported that the cause is the totally integrated power module (tipm) in which Chrysler has had numerous complaints about this issue.

Vehicle is a safety hazard. On 7/28/2017 I almost at a fatal accident and almost ran off of the road due to impair vision. 1 of my complaints to dealership and Chrysler was that my front windshield defroster is not working. I have expressed my concern and fear to both parties. Also, I have other on going issues with the transmission, stalling, hesitating, pulling side to side, consuming gas, jerking, making a clucking noise, hvac issues, drive shaft and shifting gears.

The passenger side heat is not working, this appears to be a very common issue with this make and model. The issue get worst overtime as it is now affecting my ability to properly defrost my padsanger side windshield as well as the passenger side window which is causing a safety concern due limiting my visibility . This is driving hazard to me and other drivers during the winter.

The heat on the passenger side is no longer working and therefore the windows on the passenger side will not defrost. After performing some research online it appears that this is an issue with the heater core that Chrysler knows about.

Passenger side does not have any heat coming out of the vents, or defrosters. Only the far driver side produces small amount of warmth. Being that I live in wisconsin, it has become hazardous for me to drive my vehicle in the winter for obvious reasons. Not being able to unfog, or defrost your windows is unbelievably dangerous! aside from the dangers of driving at times with only half of a clear windshield, my passengers and I freeze inside the vehicle during the winter! the only way to clear the windshield and passenger window is to periodically open the windows while driving, which only makes the inside temperature that much more unbearable.

First, there is the hvac/windshield defrost. My concern with that condition is that my vehicle is my main source of travel and to have the hvac to work properly in the summer is vital as well, as having a clear windshield. A breakdown at night, an accident, hitting a pole hole, something or someone would be far worse than a mere inconvenience. Incidentally, my intended use of the vehicle was made quite clear to the sales staff when I bought it. Second, and the matter of far greater concern to me is the transmission. Car making clucking noise, vibrating, jerking while shifting gears and launching while driving as if someone hit me from the back. Third, vehicle is only 2 years old and has had to have the drive shaft replaced. Which in return I've been without vehicle for more then 14 days and occur extra expenses of car rentals, tires and wheel alignment due to irregular wear. Fourth, hesitation on attempt to accelerate. I was informed that issue would be resolved with replacement of drive shaft. Defective drive shaft was the reason for delay and jerking. Fifth, excessive gas burning. I was informed that exist because of drive shaft. Once drive shaft was replaced it didn't resolve issue. I was giving a formula to calculate gas mileage, which was given to dealer. Car averaging 16mpg. Per car sticker fuel economy: highway 29/ city 18. Car is driven mostly on highway without a lot of stop and go traffic.

I received this car as a rental. The rear view mirror in the center of the windshield cannot be adjusted up to keep it from becoming a forward blind spot. Even with the seat adjusted all the way down, the mirror completely "hides" other vehicles at intersections. Although a "low tech" problem, it is an extremely dangerous design defect.

My 2012 Chrysler 200 ; 2. 4l engine has no heat on the passenger side - no heat on defroster, floor, or out vents. Dealer said there is build up in cooling system (star case #1207000008) ; recommends replacing heater core, radiator, thermostats, engine oil cooler - est $2000. 00 repair. No heat during defrosting causing windshield fogging and reduced visibility during cold weather. This started Jan 2, 2017 and is ongoing.
