general problems of the 2006 Chrysler 300 - part 2

We were parked and unloading our luggage at the airport. We'd been there approximately 20 minutes waiting to check in on curbside. All of a sudden, our car started rolling backward and crashed into a car approximately 50 feet behind us. My husband was running trying to stop the impact, there was no reason that this car should have done this. It was in park for over 20 minutes!.

Some time ago- about five years ,I purchased a 2006 Chrysler 300 touring from franklin automall- mall in franklin township -what I have been experiencing endless times and concern that the lug nuts that hold the wheels on are (defective) I have purchase a set of new lug nuts in the past last set was 2013. What is happening is that I went for my brakes to be looked at at a pepboys on 3016-2015in pomton plains NJ,the problem was there lug nuts could not be removed. These type lug nuts- the outer caseing seperates from the lug nut itself, and spins around and around, difficulty to remove lug nut(s). Any kind of brake repair or removing of a wheel. In event of a flat (I would certainly be stuck. ) and again pay for new studs to be put in. Chrysler has not changed these lug nuts that I am aware of- to better and more efficient ones, that has no outer casting that spins -preventing lug nuts to be removed. Replacement sets-- were another set of lug nuts from the Chrysler dealer from franklin sussex county auto mall,I was told at that time there are no replacements !!!!!!!. . . On Thursday 3-25-2015 my car is going to another pepboys for brakes to be looked at in verona NJ. Im sure I will be the one getting stuck with the bill . For new studs. In closing the pep boys in pompton plains had a hard tome to get them off and the two were mangled I managed to get one off with not great ease at all. Two in total-there needs to be a recall correct this constant problem with these brand of lug nuts,the outer castings dont hold up in any kind of weather and smooth out constantly. Creating this over and over problem.

It runs quiet and everything it just cut off on me while I was on brake at a stopping position, I was at a light on my brakes and it cut off on me, I just bought it yesterday, and filled my tank up. . . I love this car, what is wrong with it?.

Cars stalls while driving. . . No codes are on. . . Etc light on when stalls and the carrestarts without a problem. Almost in many accidents while driving with the kids. Chrysler has known about this problem and has done nothing about this particular type of mpdel. Tipm is defectedd and there's a class action lawsuit aginst them.

Engine stalls without warning while driving at highway speed and in town driving causing loss of power steering and power brake function. In and out of garage for over a year. Currently at Chrysler dealership. After over 3hr diagnoses they told us that it needs a timing belt and water pump. They didnt know what was causing the engine to stall. Contacted Chrysler 1/3/17 stated that a starcase file would be opened to resolve this issue. Didnt seem aware of this being a widespread problem with this year make and model. As of 1/9/17 no closer to resolving this issue. This car is not safe to drive. We gave our daughter our car to drive for the past 6 months as this car is not safe to drive.

Car was fogged up and did not defrost could not drive for about half hour. Rolled down the windows but did not work. Heating also did not work, however once I gained visibility and car was at apx 3mph heat came back on.

My car shuts off while driving and slowing down. Its happened 5 times this month. This seems to be a recurring problems with this car. There should be a recall.

Vehicle repeatedly stalls at low speeds once gas tank is filled up. Has stalled in intersections on busy streets and on freeway off-ramps. Problem resolves when gas tank is less than 7/8 full. Dealer advises this is a problem with Chrysler gas tanks, but that the company will not fix defect.

I was driving my car then it went it just shut off, it was making funny sounds stopping and going then went dead the oil light came on it had oil I had just change the oil at a mechanic shop, some one helped me and the car start again I drove it home, every time I bought gas it start stopping and going on 95 highway I almost get killed it just shut down going 70 miles an hour then it just shut off, I need help I don't know what to do I am a lady don't have monies to spend on fixing car, I don't like to get gas because that is when it stop and go and stall in the road.

I own a 2006 Chrysler 300 touring. I drove the car without any problem and parked in my car garage at home. I went to the car to drive out of home, engine starts well, but gear lever is stuck to park, will not disengage. I researched a little about this and noticed that this is a major problem with the Chrysler car and many people have been having problems with this. I also noticed that Chrysler had issued a recall for this problem. I called a local Chrysler dealership and reported the problem and was told that the recall did not apply to my specific car. I then called the Chrysler group recall assistance center at 1-800-853-1403. I spoke with joshua (employee id jg 1834) who told me that my car was not covered under the recall. I made it clear to him that this is a manufacturer problem, a defective product being sold to consumers like myself and that Chrysler needs to take full responsibility for it. I requested for the name and email or other contact information of the person in charge of recalls at Chrysler and joshua told me he is not allowed to give out that information. I was told I have to go fix my car myself for a manaufacturing defect.

Vehicle will not shift into gear from park. No warning lights are illuminated on the dashboard, there is nothing indicating there is any issue. Pressing the brake does not seem to unlock the shift lock mechanism that would allow me to shift into gear. Contacted Chrysler group and was informed that although there have been recalls for the same problem in other model years, the 2006 model year is not currently covered.

Transmission shifter interlock lever broke. Won't shift out of park.

When I put the gear shift into park it wont let me shift again so now im stuck in park. I heard online this is happening with other Chrysler cars and Dodge cars I feel that there should be a recall for this matter cause it cost on average $350 or higher and Chrysler knows about it but they have only recalled some cars and not all cars with this problem please help . My 2006 Chrysler 300 was parked in my garage. When I was ready to leave in the morning, I started the car but was not able to shift from "park" mode. Had it towed to my local Chrysler dealer where an overhall shifter assy and lever kit - shifter interlock was installed.

Engine begin making a loud knocking noise steering wheel locked up could not turn or do anything with the car. I immediately put hazards on, noise stopped car began to slow down until it completely stopped. Car would not start back . Later found out it was do to oil sludge built up. Oil light never came on when the oil was out causing engine failure.

The car drive at 60 mileshour cut off all light come on dashbord an stop then crant backup an drive again.

After I filled up my gas tank and left the gas station, when I came to a complete stop my car shut off. When I restarted it, my rpms raised tremendously and my gears started shifting automatically and when I came to another stop my car shut off again. I only been having the car 3 weeks and I noticed that it always happens after a fill-up for a few hours here and there. Once my gas needle moves a little bit below full, the car runs perfectly fine!.

After I start the car I try to shift it out of park, I have to force it to shift. I had this happen to me before and had to have my car towed to the macanic. The gear shifter had to be replaced. I am having to force it to shift but know it will have to be replaced sooner or later.

While driving on more that one occasion my knee accidently bumped the ignition key and turned the car while moving I was able to restart the car without incidents. I contact Chrysler twice regarding this matter to give the a heads up but I have not heard from about resolving the problem. I bought this car new in 2006.

The car stop and wont go to the next gear. . . Tha happen on the expressway and I almost got hit by a truck.

Filled gas tank at station. Drove . 25 mile and vehicle stalled while accelerating from a stop light. Stalled 3 more times within the next mile. I parked car and shut it off. Restarted 30 minutes later and drove about 1. 5 miles and it stalled again while pulling into a parking lot. No problems until I filled up at a different gas station 5 days later. It stalled again after pulling out of the station. It always starts right up.

I went out to start my Chrysler 300 to head to work and again the gear shift would not move. I called chrylser (the company) and was told if I took it to a dealer to get it repaired it was possible I could have the repairs done free. So I had the car towed to the Chrysler dealer where the mechanic said the problem was a part located within the gear shift that malfunctioned causing the gear shift not to move. The part just simply needed to be replaced, but it would cost me nearly $700. 00. The same day I had the car repaired I contacted Chrysler (the company) and was told they could not help me with this problem. So I waited to see what I should do. On July 17, 2014- I contacted Chrysler to try and speak with them one last time about the situation before going to court. At one point the representative even became temperamental with me stating that because my car did not have the proper VIN # it was not involved in the recall, regardless if it had the same problem or not. This incident happened once before. This is the second time I've had to have this part replaced.

Recently I started my Chrysler 300, tried to put my car in reverse, and realized it was stuck in park. After much investigation I have found a temporary resolution to get it out of park provided o me via the internet. I have found there is a recall on my part provided by Chrysler, on my exact model, make, and year but for some reason its VIN specific. Bottom line is my part is broken and falls right in line with the other 29,000 other people that had their gear shifter recalled. When I called Chrysler they said my VIN didn't qualify. I strongly disagree. I have looked online and see many many people have been turned away by Chrysler with the same problem. Please help!.

Gear shift became locked in park position. With assistance from aaa I was able to release it out of park. Chrysler advised there is no recall on this problem even though there seems to be multiple complaints pertaining to this particular problem in this model and year.

Gear shifter will not move out of park.

At approximately 12:30pm I got into my vehicle (Chrysler 300 touring 2006 model) to drive home. I put my key in the ignition, started my vehicle and then proceeded to change gears from park to reverse. My gear shift was locked/stuck in park. It would not move at all. I then turned my care off and proceeded to try again. I then started up my vehicle (Chrysler 300 touring 2006 model) and the gear shift was still stuck in park. I then proceeded to google what was going on with my Chrysler 300 and there were several complaints from other Chrysler 300 owners on this site with the same exact problem. On this site other Chrysler owners stress that this particular problem just happens out of the blue. You never know when it's actually going to happen. It costs $490 to get it fixed plus the amount of money it will cost you to get your vehicle Chrysler 300 towed. The other Chrysler owners also stress that they've had this same problem with 2005, 2006, and 2007 Chrysler 300 touring models. I then proceeded to make several calls to handle my problem as far as towing ect. . . All I got was the run around and I stressed the issue as far as this particular problem being recalled and it hadn't been. If I knew then what I know now I would of never bought the Chrysler 300 touring 2006 model. I don't think it's fair to the customer to have to come out of their pockets for a default that the company made on a vehicle. This model needs to be on the recall list. It is now 4:03pm and myself and my children are still waiting for my car to be towed. ## VIN passed ## crysler 300 touring 2006 ##.

Stick shift will not move out of park.

I was in parking stall and the shifter would not shift to reverse so we had to tow home. Auto club who assisted tow said they see a lot of the Chrysler 300s. We did have repaired. Very concerned about our shifter now.

On 5/22/2013 I went to the store, and when I came out I was unable to get the vehicle out of park. We had to have the vehicle towed home. It has been confirmed that the problem is the transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring hook. Which has been in a recall that doesnt include my VIN. The dealership states it would have to charge for a new gear shift assembly, which could cost upwards of $400. The dealership and also a customer rep for Chrysler states this is a very common problem,but only some vehicles are covered in a recall, but as I stated, my Chrysler 300's VIN is not included is recall #k39.

Stalling occurs at low speed and at stops. Check engine light occured may twice with the stalling, so therefor mechanics aren't detecting the problem through diagnostics test. I've had 3 dignostics test ran thus far. I was told could be due to something dealing with the fuel parts-I'm not technically inclined in car terminolgy. Please help. I provided a guestimate of the first iniitial occurance. Thanks.

I turned my ignition on to warm my vehicle before getting in to travel. I warmed the vehicle for about twenty of twenty five minuites. I came out and put some belongings into the vehicle and went back inside of my office for about another five minutes. When I returned to get into my vehicle, it had jump into reverse and was going backwards into traffic. The oncoming traffic dodged the vehicle by going around it. It finally landed into a ditch of water. Lots of water damage, and damage to the body. No one was hurt, because no one was in the vehicle. May vehicle was in good shape. I had never had anyneed for major repairs. Who is responsible for the default, malfunctioning and damage done to my vehicle? I called the manufacturer and was told that my vehicle was not in recall, therefore they are not accountable.

The car has a stalling issue that can cause accidents the car stalls the engine light flashes the car cut off sometime and it does it at lease 4 times a week.

After filling up at a gas station, when we started to accelerate, the car stalled. It was hard to start again and it stalled a couple more times. This has happened many times since then and it seems to be getting worse. It is harder to start and it is taking a little time to go into gear. On my way home from work last week, it was raining and when it stalled I almost got hit by the car behind me. I called my local dealer and he told me that I can bring it in and have it diagnosed, but if it isn't doing it when I bring it in, that there is nothing they can do about it. He also told me that he is not aware of any known problems.

The vehicle stalls at low speeds or when stopped at a stop sign. It sometimes will exhibit a sudden loss of power followed by a chime as if engine is about to stall. Two dealerships and two local mechanics have performed a complere system diagnostic. One of them retrieved code p0700-related to loss of communication with pcm. He cleared the codes and test drove it again and could not replicate the problem. The dealerships have no clue as to what is going on. This is a serious problem if our car were to stall all of a sudden on the highway and cause an accident. From what I have seen there are hundreds of complaints on this issue, is there anything you can do?.

Our Chrysler 300c has stopped running while driving at least 10 times over the last year or so. On freeway and city streets. It usually starts back up once your stopped. My wife is afraid to drive it anymore. It is a very scary situation. No engine, no ps and no brakes. No code or check engine light. Everyone I have talked to with a 300 has had the same problem, no matter what the year or engine. Like most there is no sense taking it to dealer. They just say no code and give you some bs story about what caused it. No come up with a fix. Chrysler knows they have a problem and won't man up and fix it. They would rather someone die first to save money. It has to be in the computer. Just like Toyota and their fly by wire throttle that was causing all the crashes. What is the public suppose to do if they won't step up.
