36 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 06/16/2017

My battery light came on when I was leaving the grocery store. About a mile away I stopped at stoplight at a busy intersection on the highway and dash lights started coming on and off, radio and ac coming on and off and then car dies and will not restart. After 5 or 10 minutes get it restarted and will barely move. Luckily there was an auto parts store just around the corner. When I pull in the parking lot, car will not shift out of drive, will not shut off, wind shield wipers come on and won't go off, gauges all going crazy and have to use emergency brake so my car won't run through the front of the store while I go into store to get help. The guy hooks up to diagnostic device and it gives a read error. (hooks up to another car and no error). Finally get car to shut off after about 20 minutes. He tests battery and comes back low. New $200 battery and starts up fine, everything working again. Pull out of parking lot and start smelling something burning, smoke coming through vents, weird sound. Pull over and same things happen - gauges going crazy, wipers on, won't shift out of drive, won't turn off. Get out of car and take key out with me and wipers come on. Have to take out fuse to get them to go off. Lights come on. Have to disconnect battery to get them off - all of this when the key is not even in the car! $60 to have car towed to shop and $600 to have alternator replaced. Why is the 180 amp alternator not part of the p60 recall when it is having the same exact issues as the 160 amp alternator that was recalled??? I keep seeing others saying they keep having the alternator go out again even after they replace it. I have had this car for 5 years and never and problems with it other than general maintenance stuff. I don't not feel safe driving it any longer.

37 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/24/2017

Limited edition 75th anniversary mopar. Continually blows the 25 amp fuse for the acc, anti-sway, & and systems. Alternator has caught fire on on one occassion. Chrysler either doesn't care or does not possess the expertise to resolve the problem. Battery & alternator replaced after fire. 4091 miles later I am experiencing the same blown fuse problem. Chrysler "independant" investigator from eaa (mike sobiecki) filed report to Chrysler a few weeks ago. No call from Chrysler to me regarding this issue (there is a Chrysler case number on this). I need help. I work out of state and I-ve already broke down during interstate travel on I-10.

38 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/07/2017

The car simply shut down, no warning, driving about 60 on an interstate. Nothing would work, power-steering was out, no brakes, nothing. The alternator was bad. Chrysler has a recall on "some" of the vehicles with a 3. 6l engine and a 160 amp alternator but it appears the same thing is happening to vehicles with different type engines or amps. This seriously needs to be addressed. I have researched on the internet and there are many many complaints and Chrysler's dealerships, customer service, etc. . . . Simply say not included in recall. These cars are deathtraps waiting to happen. . . . . The cars simply stop!!!!.

39 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

Vehicle had a delayed start. While in motion the car would deaccelerate, slow down, and misfire. The esp/abs indicator light would come on and an alert would continue to sound until the car was shut off. The car may or may not start and when started it continues to alert the next day. The car continues to misfire and driving over 30 mph is unsafe. The car has been taken to a mechanic several times but has never been properly fixed.

Failure Date: 04/12/2017

45000 miles the dashboard cluster all of dash goes total out no speed no tachometer, no gas, all temp gauges and traction control go out. The radio and the rest of the console go black as well. Car will not turn on also you can not use alarm system to enter vehicle. Dome light does come on. Tried to jump start doesnt effect car as its not the battery its some other computer issue. As tow truck hauled car the car came back to life from the jolt of road bumps. Dealership states can't find anything wrong with car. Viewed several cars with similar symptoms. I have video of so far 2 occurrences . This has happened while driving and also while parked so its random.

44 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/13/2017

We have had so many complaints with this car and the dealership always says it is our problem. Upon driving we will smell something burning and now the ac or heat do not work properly. The gear will jump out of place when driving or trying to park. Than you try to put it in drive or reverse and the gear will not move sometimes. No matter if its on the highway or street we have these same problems. I put it happen it January 2017 but these things been happen way before than.

45 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 12/31/2016

S27 recall electronic shift lever safety recall was supposedly fixed on 08/30/2016. On 12/31/2016 our car was put in the "park" position yet 4 hours after it was sitting in our drive-way, took off on its own, hit a wood pile on our property, causing more than $1223 in damage. The vehicle was stationary prior to moving on its own. No personal injuries sustained since no one was in the vehicle. The car was still in "park" when the vehicle was found against the wood pile. We have photos to prove this as well as the damage that Chrysler refuses to fix for us!.

46 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 12/02/2016

My car got into an auto accident and the airbag did not deploy. We were traveling in heavy traffic, weather was rainy, on nb I 5 just passing mile post 22 in woodland washington state.

47 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 11/06/2016

While driving about 30mpr, car suddenly loss all inside lights, including indicator lights. Within one minutes later, power dropped and car was barely driving. Within the two blocks I had to drive to get home, power continued to drop. No way to control the car; unable to turn off . Ignition or put car in park it suddenly began to smoke profusely. Looked like all fluids leaked and car became hot. Then all dash lights came on flashing violently. Car smoked for about 20 minutes or more before it became quiet. Gears would not engage, so it remained in drive the whole time. I kept my foot on brake due to uncertain about what the car would do. It was completely dead but continued to smoke more than 30 more minutes. Was unable to control anything. Could not even operate trunk. I am totally afraid of this car. Towed to dealer. Alternator cost >$1100. Mileage is just over 68000. P60 recall was not assigned to my car due to amp value.

48 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 09/27/2016

This is the 2nd time I am sending a complaint about the 2012 Chrysler 300's and the safety issues associated. My vehicle has some sort of electrical issue. This electrical issue used to sporadically affect my vehicle in various way, however lately the issues have become more frequent and aggressive. The frequent and aggressive activity are as follows: sometimes my bluetooth will not connect so I would turn off and restart the vehicle and the bluetooth would immediately connect. Sometimes the power seats will not heat. I would pull over turn off the car and restart the vehicle and it would start heating up. Sometimes the back-up camera flickers and has a severely distorted image. Sometime the image of the camera is perfectly crystal clear. The main concern is my power steering is electric and I do not have a power steering pump. When I am driving and making a turn out of no where the steering gets really tight and I almost have to force the car to turn. When I park the car and let it sit for a while then the steering is fine again. This is a major safety issue. I have had the vehicle serviced and everyone says that the battery alternator and starter are all perfect. They cannot find anything wrong. Clearly there is something wrong with my vehicle. This has been happening since 2013. The attached images show the backup camera flickering and distorted images. Exactly 2 minutes later I restarted the vehicle and the images were perfect. I also have videos to share if needed.

49 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/24/2016

Since 2013 I have been experiencing electrical issues with my car. First in 2013 it was very sporadic. The bluetooth and radio would not turn on approximately once every 2 to 4 months so I would turn off the car and restart it and it would connect. This year in January 2016 the fan was not blowing and there was not heat in the vehicle. I turn the car of and restarted it and the fan began to blow immediately. Last week my steering wheel felt like it was not going to complete my left turn and got really tight. Yesterday as I was driving my accelerator and brake began to feel very tight as if they were both getting stiff and the suspension started getting very tight then as I was backing into a parking space my backup camera started flickering like poltergeist. I took the vehicle to check it I needed a battery or a new alternator and they said nope. My battery, my alternator and started are all good. I have been two different places and they told me that I have an electrical issue that has just gone bad over time. I tried to have someone look into it in 2013, but anytime someone held onto the vehicle nothing happened. I just spoke to another mechanic and they said I may need a new pcm. I am not sure what the problem is but would like to get to the bottom of it.

50 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/12/2016

Was driving down the road on a 90 plus degree day with my air on and radio and all of a sudden the radio shuts off the air shuts off and the heat comes on max all by its self. The winsheild wipers come on . I tried to turn them off but I couldnt. Try to roll the window down but it wouldnt work . Lost my power steering. Try to turn but I couldnt went to next drive way where it was wide enough and turned the car was trying to start while all this was going on. I finally got the car where I tried to stop it but it would not so I push the emerency brake and held the brake while I did that also tried to put the car in gear but it would not allow me to in the message area it read service shifter. Finally the car was dying down and all of a sudden it just shut down. I fear driving that car I am traumatized by this and fear my life in that car because I had no control of it and could not shut it off because the push to start was only like a dumbbie button . It would not do anything.

51 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/06/2016

Transmission service warning & engine service lights come on with transmission going out of gear while the vehicle is at speed. Renders the vehicle inoperable and creates a dangerous situation to oncoming and surrounding motorists. Has happened multiple times. Reported to the dealer on three separate occasions. Requires a shut down and restart/reboot with diminished transmission ability. Yellow service engine light and abs & traction control lights are in the constant on, lighted. Chrysler service codes detect no coded issues. Happening on a greater frequency now, started before 30,000 miles, vehicle now has 43,000 miles on it. Happens in motion, after being parked, just before parking. Frequency is such that I am afraid to drive the vehicle. Chrysler dealer(s) state that do do not have a fix resolved yet for the 2012 models.

52 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 07/01/2016

We were driving and suddenly abs brake and alert light came on and we got msg on dash board that say service transmission ,shut off engine to engage park , we pulled out of traffic and stopped on the side of road and pushed the turn off button but the engine do not cut off and the gear will not dis engage from drive and nor shutt off , we were scared we dont know what to do as we cannot shut off the car and if we jump out of car the car is still running and in drive driving so we keep on pushing the power off and finally it turned off and we want to let you know that you look into it as it is very scary and fear full . We made a movie and posted on youtube as we cant sent it to you , the link is https://youtu. Be/ltl81sladeo . The exact miles on vehicle is approx 30400 as vehicle is at home.

53 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 04/21/2016

(p60/NHTSA 14v-634) I own a 2012 Chrysler 300. While driving about 5 mph in a parking lot, the radio stated cutting on and off, the battery icon flashed on and off and I lost all power to the vehicle. I opened the hood and smoke was coming from the alternator. Aaa came and tried to jump -start the vehicle, but the battery was completely dead. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery was the cause of the failure. The batter and the alternator were replaced. In 2015, a letter was sent to certain Chrysler 300 owners whose vehicle was equipped with a 3. 6l engine and a 160 amp alternator to take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealer and get the alternator replaced, free of charge. Those of us with a 180 amp alternator did not qualify. Those of us with the 180 amp alternator did not qualify. The same problem that existed with the 160 amp, also exist with the 180 amp alternator. I also have a life- time warranty, but I had to pay for the battery.

54 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 04/11/2016

Takata recall- my electric throttle control shut my engine down while on the express way in heavy traffic the gas pedal would no longer accelerate the car. I had to try to get over and put my hazardz on. I couldve died and it was night time. This part should be recalled.

55 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/07/2016

On several occasions over the past few weeks, as the car heats up, the abs fuse seems to lose contact. When this happens, abs/esp (stability control), forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise disable. It has happened both while stationary and moving. If using adaptive cruise control, acceleration and speed maintenance will stop, and could result in an accident (though it has not yet). A similar Chrysler case has been opened and linked to the police variant of a car on the same platform with same engine. Police cars use Dodge chargers with hemi v8, which is the same platform as the Chrysler 300 with a hemi v8, with mostly cosmetic issues. The fuse is not blown, and upon the car cooling down, the system is restored, however, on journeys in which the engine heat rises, the system goes offline. It seems as though this may be a common issue in this platform, however, the TSB only went to the police car variant of essentially the same car. When the issue happens while the car is moving, if the driver has the brakes applied, a bang/grind/scrape sound (such as what is heard when the abs actually engages) can be heard.

56 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

57 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 02/17/2016

I purchased my vehicle used 2 weeks ago. Initially the vehicle was running fine until I filled it up with fuel. As soon as I pulled out of the gas station my vehicle started stalling as if I was losing power to my vehicle. After a few miles the stalling stopped. In the past few weeks the stalling has become worse every time I pump fuel. It shuts off if I'm idle at a light, it shuts off when I'm attempting to park, turn left, or in a drive thru. As soon as I would crank my vehicle up and go to accelerate the car won't move until after a few seconds and then it just jerks out before a smooth drive. Yesterday I took it to a Chrysler dealership because after informing the used car sales lot where I purchased the vehicle they couldn't find the issue and wanted to keep my car for a week. After 10 hours of trying to find the issue they stated there had been a recall on the fuel tank for 2006 Chrysler 300s. He said that should fix the problem and I should be on my way. So I was relieved to hear the great news coming from the Chrysler dealership. Well after heading home and 20 miles out from the dealership there goes the stalling again last night. My vehicle shut off at the light and again as soon as I attempted to park my vehicle in the driveway. In addition to the fuel system issue is causing another issue that I truly fee wasn't investigated thoroughly. I noticed a recall on 2006 Chrysler pacifica where the stalling was caused by the fuel system, tcm, and pcm module basically dealing with the power train and this is very highly the same issue going on with 2006 Chrysler 300. There should've been a recall on both and there isn't. This is very dangerous as when I stalled onto the freeway I was almost hit by an 18 wheeler truck on last week. The tcm and pcm codes along with the fuel system code were showing in the diagnostic issue yesterday. Help please.

60 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2011 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 11/03/2015

I was starting my day at 4:00am I auto started my car like I do every day and leave to work. On this day I went to my car and it was off I thought this was odd but I got in my car and it start and I was on my way. I drive 3 miles to work I was at the hill to turn in to when the battery light came on and the car it felt like it was going to stall. At that time I turn to go up the hill and some other light started to flash not even 30 second later the car stopped in the middle of the road the light all went out and I was sitting in the dark I tried to turn on the hazard light but all power was out the car I sat in the middle of the road for over a hour and a half for a tow truck. When the tow truck got there he had trouble trying to get the car on the flat bed the rear tires of the car would not turn so he had to readjust the car several times to get it on the truck.

61 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/26/2015

Was driving the vehicle and it started to stall. Managed to get it to a parking lot where it died out. Thought it was the battery got a new one to move from the parking lot. Proceeded to drive the car home from the parking lot about 1 mile away. It started to give out and stall again so I pulled over. Popped the hood open and the altanator was smoking so I turned the car off. Even after I turned it off it still smoked and sounded like it was cracklings like a fire luckily it did not catch on fire. My question is if there's recalls on 2011-2014 Chrysler 300 altanators why is there not one on my car?.

62 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/07/2015

This was the first time I have ever used my cruise control since I have owned my car. I was traveling on a freeway; all of a sudden my car started to lose control. The engine was racing to a high rpm and accelerating. Two warning lights came on immediately, it was difficult to steer, and the cruise control would not disengage even when hitting the brake. While I tried regaining control of my car I tried turning the cruise control off. It would not turn off. I hit cancel on the steering column and it still wouldn't disengage. Finally, I kept braking and pulled off the side of the road. My car, while I had my foot on the brake, continued to rev up. I took my foot off the brake, but the cruise control was still engaged, even with the cruise control light now off, and the r. P. M's continued to be high, so I took the next exit. I put the car in park and turned off the engine for 15 minutes. The two warning lights are electronic stability control and electronic throttle control. The car is still having problems and the cruise control comes on after 40 mph on its own and the warning lights come on.

63 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/01/2015

Takata air bag was replaced but dealer was unable or unwilling to tell which air bag was used as the replacement device. Since the replacement, the gps system does not work, when I turn on the radio I get a bing bing bing sound. Dealer says it is my job to replace radio and gps system for almost $2,000 - labor not included. New radio and gps not available for this car at this time. Local vendor suggested the air bag was not installed properly or the wrong make/model was used to get the job done and get rid of me. I had also read on your list of recalls for this model there was a radio that exploded. I need the radio and particularly the gps to work and the car will have reduced resale value without either of those functioning properly. Dealer ordered a new gps disc and tried to load it to make the system function once again, but the gps system would not load the new disc.

64 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 06/30/2015

Around 3 weeks ago. My esc light came on I wasn't sure exactly what it was at first. I did a search on the internet and noticed that there was information about a recall regarding esc light. So I called the recall phone number and they checked with the glendale Chrysler and set me up a appointment for one week later at 9am. The day I went to the glendale location when I arrived I went up and spoke with the person who was handling my situation. I thought being that I had the 9am appointment and I waited one week I would be the first priority. Instead several people went ahead of me and they didn't even look at my car till 1pm. At the end of everything I was told I would have to pay to get this problem fixed. I felt as if they was not really trying to help me and tried to come up with another reason why the light was on. So I went home and called the recall number back and explained to them I wasn't comfortable with the situation. So they called the downtown la location and they said they don't have the part and they cant order the part. The representative then called the inglewood location and they said they would forward the information to the supervisor and someone would get back in a couple of days. That call was made on wed July 15th and as of today July 20th I have not heard anything. From what I understand this light coming on can cause loss of control of the vehicle and I cant get any help with fixing this situation.

67 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/07/2015

I received a notice that my 2013 Chrysler 300 was under a recall for alternator issues. I already had noticed that my vehicle warning lights had flashed the alternator with the lightning bolt twice recently. Then my cruise went out, abs service light came on and stayed on and my traction control light came on and stayed on. The days after I reviewed the recall notice I schedule an appointment to have my car services at carl gregory in savannah GA, off abercorn st. When the service person took my car I identified the issues and he said that he will check it over to include checking the wheel sensors. Noting the wheel sensors specifically, made me a bit suspicious. Later he called me and stated that a wheel sensor went bad and it was not relational to the recall notice. He said he has the part and it would be $187 to fix it. I stated that the notice states that the wheel sensor could be impacted. He said, no sir it reads the module not the sensor and they are not close to each other. I find this technicality not fair to the consumer and I feel that this should be included in the recall. My car has 39k miles on it, is serviced regularly and has never had an issue. I find it hard to believe that the cruise, abs, and traction control going out at the same time has nothing to do with the recall.

We left our home to run an errand away from home. We were on our way back home when in my car we heard a bell or like a ring. . All of a sudden our car stalled in the street while we were driving it car turned off and my husband could not get it in gear or stopped. The radio turned off the lights went off & heater came on I started smelling something burning and then my husband tried to start the car it started then stopped and then he wasn't able to stop it my daughter and I started flipping out both crying we were scared in traffic and our car just stopped and we could not even get it out of neutral. We called the roadside assistance and a wrecker came in the mean time we are broken down in a very bad of town stranded. We had the car towed to tomball Dodge where we bought it from. We let the dealership know that this is our one and only car and we have no other means of transportation and we needed everything handled quickly and we need a rental car or a courtesy car or something. Dealership told us they have to get with Chrysler as there was a re-call on the alternator - we also called the Chrysler recall assistance team and told them what has happened and they said the dealership has called them. Problem is we looked the recall up on safercar and there is no remedy not yet available so according to the Chrysler recall center they will be putting on another defective alternator since remedy is not available. Very very unsafe and can't seem to get any answers from any one. In the mean time I am the one suffering here a. With no car and b not even a rental due to the fact that Chrysler can't figure it out. In the meantime me and my daughter will be driving in an unsafe vehicle until Chrysler has a remedy. Thank god! we had just exited the freeway and were down on feeder or our car would have shut down on a major highway and we could have been killed.
