I have a 2009 Chrysler 300 that intermittently shuts itself off while driving. When it does this, it loses al power. Lights, flashers, dash lights all turn off. I lose power steering, power brakes and have to manually steer it and brake it to get it off to the side of the road. Once it is out of traffic I put it in park, turn off the key and then, and only then, I can restart it. When all of this happens, there is no codes. I took it to the dealership where I purchased it and they said that everything is fine because there isn't any codes. I called Chrysler customer service and filed a case. #78850950. They claimed to have any prior knowledge of this happening on any other Chrysler product. The last time the car shutdown I was making a left hand turn and it shut itself down as I was going across a very busy highway and it almost caused an accident as cars swerved out of the way so not to hit me broadside. Neither Chrysler or it's dealership will help me get this problem fixed stating that they have done everything that they are required to do and that the diagnostic machines says there isn't a problem. I suggested that they take the car and drive it around because it will indeed repeat in a couple of days time. The dealership told me that since it's a 2009 that I would be better off getting a new car. I told them that I want this one fixed. They told me that it would cost me thousands for them to hook up test equipment and drive it around. It is in my opinion that this is a safety issue and it will be only a matter of time before someone is killed. There are several similar complaints on the internet. I offer you this car to inspect and drive and see if what I am telling you is in fact what is occurring. What bothers me the most, that this car shuts off all the power and there isn't a single code being generated by the computer.

The Chrysler operators manual/Chrysler. Com explicitly states that "the blind spot monitoring (bsm) zone starts at the outside rear view mirror and extends approximately 20 ft (6 m) to the rear of the vehicle. " none of Chrysler's manufactured vehicles meets this safety specification. Instead, the bsm detects a vehicle approaching from either side lane only when the vehicle approaches the bsm vehicle after it has reached the bsm equipped vehicle's rear bumper, or just 6 to 7 feet behind the rear view side mirrors, instead of the published 20 feet. This is a serious safety issue that does not allow enough time for the driver of the bsm equipped vehicle to change lanes safely. Chrysler is erroneously stating/publishing specifications to the purchasers of their safetytec products that cannot and are not met by the current monitoring sensors. The bsm system is part of Chrysler's safetytec plus group package that has a msrp value of $2995. I have driven other vehicles with the Chrysler bsm package and none of the driven vehicles meet Chrysler's description/ specifications for the bsm to alert the driver of an oncoming passing vehicle. The bsm system does alert through triangle lights on the side rear view mirrors and audibly alerts the driver, but not until the oncoming vehicle is next to the car equipped with the bsm safety. The bsm alert comes on too late to prevent an accident. The bsm system does not perform as described by Chrysler publication and dealer description to new car purchasers. In addition, I drove jeeps and other 300 vehicles equipped with bsm and each of these vehicles had the same safety concerns. I met with the supervisor of services at my Chrysler dealership and we went for a test drive. He stated that the bsm is monitoring and working as designed, but not as explicitly specified Chrysler in Chrysler publications and owner and operating manuals.

The forward collision warning (fcw) does not work. Info I have received is that fcw was part of the adaptive cruise control (acc) and only works as part of that system. The Chrysler manual does not say that the acc has to be on for fcw to work. Fcw is a completely different topic from acc in the manual. Fcw is supposed to work when you come up behind a car even without the acc on. In my car the fcw activates at times when the acc is off and it picks up something on the right such as a car in front of me turning right onto another road. Other manufactures such as Ford and Hyundai have fcw that works without the acc on. While not relieving the driver from needing to brake, fcw is a safety feature I paid for, and I want it to work. I have made several trips to two different dealers to try to get the fcw fixed with no success .

My 2006 Chrysler 300 limited was parked in my driveway and would not come out of park. I had to disassemble the gear lever box in order to manually depress the mechanism that moves the shifter. My vehicle has sat in my driveway for one year not being driven. My complaint is the part that broke is a cheap piece of pink plastic that Chrysler has recalled for some vehicles, but my VIN was not included. Chrysler should include all vehicles that had this installed, not some of them.

Vehicle wouldn't come out of park. Went online and found out about the pink thingies. The override one did not work. Was able to press the other one in and got it into reverse and it was stuck there. Just happened to also manually press the shift cable into place (after 2 hours) and was able to get it into drive. According to the service station, they have this replacement part in stock because it breaks so often. And according to Chrysler our vehicle is not under the recall (only "some" are), and they would notate our dissatisfaction (they know and admit that this breaks often, but won't fix it on "all" effected vehicles). Thankfully it did this after we came back from the holiday weekend.

After having the tow hitch installed by the dealership, the consumer was then informed that there wasn't load leveling shocks for this truck. This makes towing a trailer impossible. The owners manual indicates if equipped, load leveling shocks can be installed. This information is incorrect.
