Failure Date: 11/22/2015

2005 Chrysler 300. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle trunk struts failed to hold trunk lid in place. Her mother was abruptly hit in the head and consequently, she died after suffering from a subdural hematoma.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler 300. While the vehicle was parked, the contact opened the rear trunk lid. The trunk lid independently closed on the contact resulting injuries to the head, neck and shoulder. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis and they advised that the trunk props were defective. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage and VIN were unavailable.
