Car stalled after filling gas tank. I was driving through an intersection and had to stop for oncoming traffic, when the car stalled and would not immediately restart, it eventually did start after several panic moments of being stuck in the intersection while the light was changing to let opposite traffic proceed. It stalled 2 more times on the way home. Both times I was slowing the car down when this occurred. I have been fearful of driving this car again since this happened. I heard there was a recall from Chrysler for lifetime replacement of gas tank due to a possible control valve shutoff float failure. My vehicle has never had the gas tank or float replaced, but it does not show up for a recall when I enter VIN. What should I do?.
Car will buck/jerk at higher speeds, will also die at low speeds or idle, will fall on its face when trying full throttle, the oil light, check engine light, limp mode will flash sometimes traction control, esp will flash most the time the 2 lights stay on problem has been confirmed by 2 dealers. Puts my saftry at risk because engine will js die at 20mph I lose brakes and steering. Problem first appeared about the beginning of this year when my camshaft went out but wasn't showing a code for a month and a half then gave me a code since then ive had this problem vehicle has not been inspected.
The car will just shut off while driving or at rest. My safety and other people on the road is unsafe in the vehicle because when it shuts off in the middle of the road the steering wheel is also not working. The car has been to multiple shops with each shop guessing what could be the problem and fixing what they think may be wrong and after 2,000 dollars the car is still stalling out while being drove. No lights or diagnostic test come up with anything that could cause the problem.
The first time I was on the highway and then engine just stalled out on me during rush hour traffic is was almost rear-end by a simi truck I got off the highway and get the car started and then when I was at a stop sign and I started to make my left hand turn I was about half way into my turn and it sallied out again with traffic coming from both directions and it didn't want to start thank god that the oncoming car tired off and then other was able to slow down enough to go around me as I am scared to death that I was going to be hit due to the car stalled out and left me sitting in the middle of the road our car has left me twice now at the same intersection as I was making my turn these are not the only times that it's stalled out on us I am not comfortable driving our car as with it stalling out 3 time's in a 2 day time that put my life and others in danger something needs to be done about this issue before someone gets killed due to the sudden stalling we live out in a rural area with no other transportation so we need our car and depend on it and can't afford to get a new car this is a very serious issue that needs to get addressed ASAP.
Shifter into park have to tap it all the way to the left after car is off to remove key from ignition or car stays on.
The car is prone to intermittent stalling, in which the engine cuts out without warning or signs of stumbling. Often it happens at idle or when initially accelerating from idle, but has also happened several times at speed, up to 40 mph, with accompanying loss of power steering. Sometimes the engine kicks back on after a momentary loss of rpms, if at speed, but other times it does not. I have brought it to two Chrysler dealerships and three independent mechanics in an effort to find the problem, with various parts being replaced, including the x53 extended warranty for the 19 gallon fuel tank, but the problem persists without successful diagnosis. Only one of the independent mechanics was reportedly able to replicate the condition. Usually, the check engine light, electronic throttle control light, oil light, traction control, and electronic stability lights turn on during a stall, and sometimes the check engine light stays on. The car may several trips without a stall and then stall multiple times in one trip. It usually does not generate a code, but sometimes produces p0700 and u0100 codes. The car always starts again following a complete stall. These symptoms appear fairly widespread in 2006 Chrysler 300 vehicles, based on car owner forums. The level of fuel in the tank does not appear related.
Car shuts off while in motion like it’s not getting fuel or like I shut it off has new fuel pumps and everything I can check seems to be ok can cause an accident due to happening in traffic on major highways and whenever it chooses this has happened on multiple occasions including holiday weekend with a lot of traffic almost causing accidents has occurred on exit ramps, highways, red lights, parking lots, back roads, everywhere the date listed is one of the many when it has occurred.
I recently purchased my Chrysler 300c because it had great reviews and was even on top lists of vehicles for this year. Soon after purchasing, I started encountering the dreaded “300 stall”. With two small children in the vehicle, it has died at more red lights than I can count. Not to mention while driving down the highway, trying to pull out of my driveway, or really just various other occasions. In a matter of a little over a month, I have almost been rear ended at least a handful of times. Considering how many people I have discovered has this same issue, there should be some sort of manufacturer solution or at least a public warning not to purchase this vehicle. I bought the vehicle thinking I was getting a top rated safe vehicle for my family and this is not what I am experiencing.
Back in Feb. 2014 you closed an investigation on the 2006 Chrysler 300c saying it was a gas tank causing the engine to stall because Chrysler said they would replace the gas tanks. If you would have done your job right. You would have seen there was more then gas tank problems. There are hundred's of us still having stall problems. The dealerships don't how to fix these vehicles. And Chrysler acts like there's no problem. . Read more...
The temperature reading is running toward hit. I was told that the radiator fan is not strong enough to keep the radiator cooled off. I looked online and saw this is happening in most cars this make model and year. I have to stop driving the car for a while to let the car cool off. This is happening in motion on the street and highways.
I was driving at 70mph 2:30 am on the highway at night right before a curve the headlights shut off due to the main computer tpim. In essence it kills all auto features immediately including the headlights. It's a common problem with these cars just look on some of the forms online. I'm upset because my wife could have been driving the car at the time. Chrysler should be held accountable sense it's an issue with this car in general. They also have issues with the lifters due to the poor quality of the lifters rollers and the mds system.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300. The contact stated while her husband was attemptong to take the vehicle to the dealer for the recall under (NHTSA campaign number: 16v352 air bags) the vehicle would not shift out of park gear. After several attempts the contact spouse was unable to drive the vehicle and it remained park. The vehicle was not taken to an independant mechanic or a dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of this failure. The failure mileage was 130,000 tp.
When driving the vehicle it will out of no where without warning shut off on you. Youy lose all power. I was on highway at 70 mph and the vehicle shut off and with loss of power was hard to get the car to right edge of road and was almost hit by a semi truck. I have replaced on advice of Chrysler the fuel tank, fuel pump, new pcm and new tcm and the vehicle still shuts off without warning. It throws two codes u0100 and p0700. U0100 is lost communications and p0700 is transmission fault. These are two generic codes and the p0700 is just a simple as the transmission going into limp mode when engine stalls. Chrysler dealers/service center don't know whats causing this, but you look all over the internet there is 1000's of the same complaint and nothing being done to help. I even called Chrysler and they lied that they have never heard of this issue. It is effecting cars from 2005-2006 and is very dangerous. My girlfriend had her kids in my car and was using it and it stalled out and she was almost run into at 9pm at night because of the sudden loss of power and shutting off. I have written you numerous times with no reply back so I am assuming you guys are over looking this issue also. . Read more...
While driving car it will lose power and shut off. It will do this a couple of times then run good. I changed out engine recently and put new coils and spark plugs in and a new pcm and it has started again. It will just shut off and have to keep restarting. I asked Chrysler and they say they never heard of this issue but there are thousands of same complaint all over the internet. Again car had issue with original engine, now has new engine and same problem car shutting off or lossing power constantly. There is approx 600 miles on new engine and same problem has come up.
While driving car randomley has m0mentary loss of power. There is a bell sound and then the car restarts, but it drops out of cruise control and sometimes has check engine light, or other dash lights. Usually lights clear upon restart. This has happened from Nov 2019 to present.
My car cuts on and off several times while driving. If I and stopped and a light or stop sign it will cut completely off and I will have to crank it back up. Sometimes it will crank right up and sometimes it will crank up and cut off a few times before it will stay crunk. I never know when it will happen because it give me no warning. There is no engine light on. I have taken it to the shop and called the dealer and no one can explain why this is happening. I tried to pull it up online and I seen where this has happened to several people since 2014 and no one could tell them what the problem is either.
The shifter will not come out of park with the car running and the brake applied.
My 2006 Chrysler 300c 5. 7l starting stalling after filling the tank and has progressively gotten worst. My car now stops while idle, at traffic lights, and has even stop while making a turn into traffic. I have taken it into the dealership who has tried to charge me labor to investigate the problem (thousands) but, ultimately claim that they do not know what the problem is. After research, I have found that their are thousands of owners with my make and model having the same issue. I also found that Chrysler's solution is to change the gas tank, which they claim should fix the issue. The dealership changed the tank under their extended warranty and this has not fixed the stalling problem. After doing more research I found that Chrysler did a recall on this same stalling issue for the pacifica Mini van, but did not include my make and model. The issues are found in 2005-2006 Chrysler 300c hemi 5. 7l engines. I don't understand how this dangerous issue has gone so long without a recall. Someone is going to get seriously injured or killed by stalling while driving in traffic. Meanwhile my car still has not been fixed.
While driving the car it shuts off or stalls at any given moment. It has tried to stall while driving 80 mph, stalled at traffic lights, etc. Can be very dangerous. We took to a mechanic and the car did not stall while it was there so they were unable to find anything wrong. The next day it happened again, and again and again. I have a video that I can share but I cannot upload it.
Vehicle is stuck in park and will not shift out of it. Chrysler is aware a problem exists but conveniently says this car is out of the build date for being affected therefore I'm crazy and it should be an out of pocket expense for me.
The Chrysler start with no problem drive around stop park and get out the car. Return in a minute no crank start wait 15 or 20 minute the car will start. This problem accured 2 or 3 times a day after I park. Fuses ok, new starter, new battery, new tranmission nothing display on dishbroad or diagnostic machine several machanic unable to determent the problem no reading the car is ok but car contiue not to crank start I only have less than 50,000 miles after I was told that I needed a new transmission from a bronx new york dealership?.
Tl- the contact owned a 2006 Chrysler 300. The contact was driving 60mph was coming from the engine compartment. The contact was able to pull over when the vehicle caught on fire. The contact sustained an infection in her chest and sought out medical assistance. The fire marshals were called and the vehicle was extinguished and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to sheriffs department, where it was determined to be destroyed. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with, NHTSA campaign number: 06v149000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however the VIN was not included. The contact informed the manufacturer of the issue and told the contact that there was no recall on her vehicle. The mileage was approximately 70,000. Dl.
Today for the 1st time since I've had my Chrysler 300c hemi 5. 7 liter v8 just randomly stopped at a red light. After taking out the key and restarting the car back up it continued to run, but as soon as we drove off at a low speed you can hear the engine shake and stumble a bit and wanting to stop. I have never encountered problems before since I got it back in 2014.
Car stalled out while doing 70 mph on freeway without any warnings from onboard systems warning. Limped vehicle to side of road. Car would start back up, but would stall out the entire 5 miles back to my house. Have been apprehensive to drive it because no one can tell me why vehicle is doing this. Vehicle has been sitting in my garage since this incident. I had just had car at dealership to replace gas tank and driver's side airbag a week prior to this happening. Check engine light came on and hasn't gone off since the replacement of gas tank. Have contacted another Chrysler dealership's service department, but don't feel like car will be safe to drive to their location. I'm definitely not going to chance driving on freeway again. Stalling out and damn near being hit from behind was enough for me.
I have been noticing that my car will stall out randomly. When im driving it just stalls out. . . Its pretty scarey. It started about a month ago. . Also. . I have replaced my lower arm controls on both sides and iam still hearing a grinding noice when I turn left. . Please help me to figure this out. .
I see double in my driver side mirror (auto dim). I feel this is a safety issue no matter how many miles or how old the car is and should be taken care of by Chrysler free of charge.
My car keeps shutting off. Today when I was leaving my sons appointment my car shut off it would crank right back up but it kept cutting off. I tryed it five times and it wouldn't stay crunk. I had to leave my car stranded because it was sleeting outside and my son was in the car. I have took my car to the dealership and they continue to tell me they can't diagnose a problem so there's nothing they can do. This problem needs to be fixed before someone gets hurt are killed.
I bought my car in January 2015. As of December 2015 it started stalling. It would start jerking when I gave it gas. It would shut off when I either tried to take off from a complete stop or when I was just stopped or in the middle of me driving within 40 mph. I took it to the Chrysler dealership (not the dealer I bought it from) they diagnosed it was the wiring harness. I paid over $1200 to get it fixed. The same problem happened within 24 hours of me picking it up. It was there for almost 2 months, they said it did not do anything when it was there. Only said I needed a new battery. I had them replace the battery. Then it happened again about a month later. This time they diagnosed the fuel tank needed to be replaced. Once work was complete I picked it up and less than 5 minutes after leaving I was broke down again. This is the 5th time its been there in the last 5 months. Also I never received a refund after the mis-disgnosis! this is frustrating!.
Engine failure. My wife was driving the car and it was running fine. She went into the store and came back out and the car wouldn't start. Had it towed to the dealer and they said catastrophic engine failure and it would be $8000 to repair it. I contacted chrylser customer service and they said there was nothing they could do. I had the car towed to another shop just to find out what was really wrong. I was told this is a very common problem with the 2005-2007 5. 7 hemi motors. He told me it's normally caused by a intake valve seat falling out. Sure enough when he took it apart the #4 intake valve seat had fell out and wrecked the #4 cylinder. I know this might not be a safety issue but I don't know where else to turn. I've been searching this issue online and there are so many people in the same boat as me and we can't get anything done about it. This is not a vehicle model issue this is an engine issue because it is happening in anything that the 5. 7 hemi motor was put in and mainly from 2005-2007. Some people have had this happen to them while driving so I'm just lucky that my failure happened when my wife was parked.
My 300c 2006 engine shuts off. Sitting at a light or driving. Dealer had it, spent 1800. 00. They did not fix. Have it at a garage. They have replaced most sensors. Just spent 390 dollars on a new controller board (brain) its now more frequent. Started happening 2 years ago but not this frequent. Did a coolant flush, transmission flush,.
The car cut off 3 times in one day for no apparent reason; once while pulling out into oncoming traffic, then after fueling the car and pulling out of the gas station into oncoming traffic, then while driving down the street at about 35 mph. Fortunately, I safely guided the car to the side of the road to avoid a collision. The dealership replaced 2 sensors (code:p0038)- $501. 98. One week later, the car continued to cut off while driving. The dealership codes that came p0038, p0058, p0052, p0032, pmc & engine harness,& pmc engine computer - $2000 - declined repairs because sensors (p0038) were just replaced . Chrysler service bulletin 08-34-05 June 30, 2015 addresses this issue. Chrysler corp -michael browsowski says the car (now 56,484 miles) is out of warranty so they owe us nothing, but as a good will gesture, they will pay for 2 parts only - not labor. He admitted that a car cutting off is unacceptable, but refused to cover the entire cost of repair. He also refused to reply to my written complaint in writing. Chrysler continues to shirk their responsibility to recall and repair this manufacturer's defect. . Read more...
While attempting to shift the vehicle out of park, the shifter would not move. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a faulty shifter mechanism that needed to be replaced. The cost was $468 and the part online can be repaired at no cost or replaced for $15 to $30. The failure mileage was 32,000. There are thousands of these complaints on the internet for more than just 2006 300c autos. If Chrysler does not admit to the flaw why doesn't the government make them step up and repair or reimburse consumers who will no doubt never buy another Chrysler vehicle? there should be a recall or at least Chrysler should pay when the part fails.
This is the fourth time for this incident my car gave no indication it was about to stall no lights on dash board . It appeared that something switch the ignition to the accessory position. Unable to steer, or use the breaks the car stop immediately can not get to a safe place. . Has been to the Chrysler dealer four time this year for other related problems. But Chrysler was not able to diagnosis or repair this problem. Was told it would not read a code. It was internal problem. For 21days they kept my car without repair. . Second visit was 9-10 days with approximately five day with the owner my latest stay was 4days. My car drove approxmate; 50 miles before stalling again. For the first time I use another repair shop other than Chrysler. The worker seem well pleased when I stated I would not return with the same problem. I spoke with the manger and could not get the problem solved.
Stalled on several occassions after filling the tank up. Also while going at lower speeds. Hassitation and lost of power afterwards. Since my last fill up, the car won't start now. I read that hundreds of other people are having the same problem due to a float swells up into a stuck open position, allowing an overfill condition.
After topping off the gas tank the vehicle was driven two blocks where it was then pulled onto a busy access road in town. The vehicle was slowing down to a red light when the engine stalled for a moment, the oil pressure light came on, then immediately cut out and would not restart. After putting on hazard lights and attempting to call for a tow attempts were made to restart the car and after about 20 minutes of waiting the engine turned over and it was possible to pull the car off the road to a mechanic a block up. The car was scanned and no engine codes were found and oil pressure was found to be fine. The car was given a valve flush and started up fine after that. The incident repeated itself on 3/29/15 once more after filling up the tank, after going to blocks the car once more stalled and shut down. At this point I am very concerned for my safety with this vehicle if this is what is going to happen every time the car needs gas and this should be address with a recall after seeing so many complaints.
