3 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 01/21/2014

After refueling at local gas station drove 5 miles. Stopped at light where vehicle stalled suddenly. Vehicle restarted after 3 attempts with ignition key.

4 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 01/11/2014

After fueling my vehicle I drove about 300 feet away from the gas station, and my car completely stalled out without restarting for about 5 minutes. After getting the car to restart I drove for another 5 miles and the car stalled out again. After the second stall I let the car sit on the side of the road for about 10 minutes and turned it back on and drove away. This is not the first time I have experienced this issue, it has happened 2 other times before. I fear that if this keeps happening with no resolution from Chrysler people may have to report something worse than just the car stalling.

5 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 01/10/2014

Car stalled after fuel fill up went 100 feet stalled entering the roadway (route 17s). Very dangerous.

6 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/23/2013

Drove approximately 3 miles to work, while pulling into parking spot car stalled and oil light on left came on! car would not restart. Tried to start it again later and it did, and no issue since.

7 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/14/2013

I am terrified to drive my car! three times in the last 6 weeks, right after I fuel up, I leave the gas station and my car completely shuts down/off while I am driving. The lights on the dash come on, the engine stalls, I lose the ability to steer, and my car is "dead in the water". It is really frightening! it happened once when my husband was driving, and two more times when I was driving, but each time it was immediately after getting gas. Luckily, these multiple stalling incidents have happened at lower speeds, but I am concerned about the car dying while I am on the freeway, as it would surely end up in a horrible accident. If other owners of a 2006 Chrysler 300c hemi have had this issue, I feel that the manufacturer should resolve this issue through recalling these vehicles for repair before someone gets injured or killed.

8 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/13/2013

I filled up the car with gas and after driving about half a mile the engine stalled while in traffic. The car started and stalled repeatedly five or six times for about four blocks. At a certain point the problem stopped and the car was drivable. I took the car to a nearby auto shop and they found no error codes in the system. After leaving the auto shop the car continued to drive without stalling. Several weeks later I filled up with gas again and the problem repeated itself after driving about half a mile. The engine stalled about five times. It was more difficult to turn the engine over this time but it eventually started and drove fine.

9 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/12/2013

After refueling the car stalls. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes, so by that time I was on the highway. Very scary and dangerous in traffic.

10 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/02/2013

2006 Chrysler 300c stalls after fill up. Car is hard to start up after it stalls, it will stall a couple times again and than it will be ok until next fill up. Can not get more than 1/2 mile gas station. Lucky I was able to get out of traffic without any problem. This problem started a little over a year ago, went to dealer, they could not find a problem with my car. They recommended to clean injectors, did this, it didn't help. Last 3 fill up have been the same problem.

11 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 11/21/2013

After fueling, filling up, the car will stall several times both while stopped and while moving slowly (10-15mph). If you are moving at highway speeds 45-70mph the car will cut out causing the car to jerk and then resume. It has happened 3 or 4 times since Nov 2013. It happens after the care is refueled. I have owned the car since it was new and it only started this behavior recently.

12 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 11/18/2013

Within a minute or so of refueling, the engine stalled and, consequently, the power steering and power brakes failed. The car would re-start with little difficulty only to stall again very shortly thereafter. Eventually, after perhaps 10 minutes of starts/stalls, and re-starts, operation would return to normal. At the time of the first occurrence, I had no reason to believe that this problem was related to refueling. However, the problem has since recurred with every refueling (at least 4 refuelings so far), resulting in numerous engine stalls in traffic. Apart from these refueling-related incidents the car runs perfectly, and my local mechanic has said that "the car's computer" indicates all systems are normal. A google search on my problem, however, suggests that the problem is extremely common in Chrysler 300cs of a similar vintage.

13 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 11/02/2013

After filling the car up with gas the car stalled several times. I had to crank the car and quickly start driving to keep it from stalling. I then proceeded to drive the car 70 miles without stopping and not having any issues. This could have been very dangerous if I was driving the car in a high traffic (stop and go) area!!.

14 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

After fueling car, it stalls out. After restart will run and may or may not stall again. Not a very good thing to happen. Could become the cause of an accident. Dealership says no recalls on car.

15 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 10/24/2013

Vehicle stalls after refueling aprox 0. 5miles after departing fuel station. Vehicle has stalled on approach to freeway and in potentially fatal situations. Feel unsafe driving vehicle due to continued problems. Suspect recall should be done since this seems to be a bigger problem.

16 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 10/15/2013

After refueling and leaving fueling location; engine stalled. Would restart and could drive short distance and dies again. It does this 3/8 times and then begins to run normally until next fuel up. (last 3 fuelups, so far) I don't top off and I always make sure the gas cap is tight. Took it into dealer on November 13 to review the issue. Got a call back that they could not find a "code" issue in fuel but wanted to check out the torque management. I lost all confidence in their ability to identify the problem and asked to get the car back. The most common thread online seems to be a problem with evaporation system. Not sure how to check it out. My wife is now afraid to drive the car as it has now stalled several times in traffic. Not sure what to do next----.

17 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 10/10/2013

I was on the entrance ramp to route 495s, about to enter the highway, with cars behind me, and the engine stalled. This was particularly dangerous for myself and other drivers because there was no break-down lane at the end of the entrance ramp. You go directly onto the highway. If I was on the highway when the car stalled there was nowhere for me or the cars behind me to go. They would have had to attempt to stop, too. One of the restart issues with this car is that it must be stopped and in park before you can restart the engine. It is not possible to restart the car while it is moving.

18 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 10/01/2013

Vehicle stalls, multiple times after filling up with fuel.

19 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/09/2013

Vehicle stalled at major intersection shortly after refueling and would not restart and stay running. Had to be pushed out of intersection and off roadway by police. No codes appeared. Numerous restarts and stalls before car was drivable. Brought to mechanic who computer scanned for diagnosis. No codes. Problem has now recurred 2 more times immediately after last 2 fill ups. Most recent was reentering rte 23s near wayne NJ after filling up. Car stalled and created a serious hazard for me and passengers trying to avoid rear end collision while pulling to shoulder with no power. Very busy road with 50-60 mph traffic. Car would not restart and stay running - requiring 5-7 restart/stalls before it was drivable. Brought to mechanic for diagnosis again. No codes on scanner. Very dangerous situation.

20 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

The car has been stalling out after being started. Now it is almost shutting off or becoming unresponsive mid acceleration from a stop sign. The car will at random stall. The engine does not need to be restarted so far while driving. It will "die" for a few seconds and then comes back again just short of complete engine shut down. Rear window on passenger side is also non responsive. It has only worked once since I have had the car.

21 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 08/28/2013

After fueling the Chrysler 300c the car will crank just fine and run for a minute or so but then stalls out. This scenario continues for about 5 to 8 times before it is safe to get back on the road. It has also died while driving shortly after fueling causing the power steering to stop making it extremely difficult to steer the car off the road to safety. This is very upsetting and unsafe for my family. There seems to be no good answer for this problem.

22 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 07/04/2013

I drove to the gas station, and when I was driving around the corner the car stalled. I was going around 20 miles per hour. I tried turning the car back on after a few times and it just wouldn't start. After a few minutes I managed to start the car back on and I drove in a near by shopping center. As I pulled up the car stalled once again. I decided to wait about ten more minutes before starting the car again and it failed to start. I waited an additional 20 minutes and finally it started with a little hesitation. This has happened to me several times now.

23 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

I had this happen several times after I would fill up with gas. At about 30mph or when I would come to a stop and then try to accellerate the car would stall and cut off. Would then try and restart the car after several attempts it would finially restart. Sometimes when I would reach speeds of 55mph it would cut off and I would have to steer with the best of my ability to pull to the side of the highway. Finially I just took it to the Chrysler dealer and had them put a new evap canister on it and new trottle something on it 600+ dollars.

24 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 02/01/2013

Stalls after I fill up and jerks violently when moving slowly 0 to 20 mph and hesitates when driving 30 and over if I don't drive around drive around in a parking lot for apx 10 min it will stop in traffic and possibly causing a rear end collision.

25 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 02/01/2013

Started stalling after fill up's apx 1 year ago. I do not drive it alot. Apx 55000 miles on it. First thought was due to changing octane but been using for 4 months . Stalls, bucks, surges. Cleared up after apx 5 to 10 min.

26 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

After filling up at the gas station the car stalled 3-4 times before beginning to surge. After several minutes of stalling/surging, it was fine. It does it every time the car is filled now.

27 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/18/2012

Car stalls immediately after filling up. I switched filling stations, brands and octanes. Continued to have problem. After a few gallons were used, the stalling went away each time. Problem now continues while stopped at traffic lights, traveling at low speeds, or no pressure on the throttle. While moving it will stall, the engine light will come on and "ding", then when I pump the throttle it will catch itself and the car will jerk hard and accelerate again. At traffic lights once it stalls, it will require using the key to restart. I took the car to the dealer twice for the problem, the last time in Aug 2013, the check engine light had stayed on. They reset the codes and could not duplicate the problem.

28 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 07/19/2012

I backed my vehicle out of the driveway, headed downhill to the intersection. I stopped at the stop sign, as I accelerated leaving the stop sign, the vehicle stalled out. I placed the shifter in neutral and restarted the vehicle. Drove to the next intersection and the vehicle did the same thing. After the initial problem I drove the vehicle to the dealership, where I purchased the vehicle. The vehicle was, and is, still under warranty. The dealership diagnosed the problem to be a failed throttle control and brake pedal assembly, estimated cost of around $1,000. They would not say for sure if the repairs would fix the problem. These repairs would not be covered by my extended warranty. My vehicle has stalled out sporadically this past several months, sometimes in heavy traffic, where I could easily be rear ended. My vehicle has the 5. 7 liter hemi v8 engine with automatic transmission.

29 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 01/31/2012

For the last 30,000+ miles, every time I fill up the car stalls or attempts to stall. About 8 months ago, I took it to my mechanic who had never heard of the problem. He searched the internet and found no reported instances. I've learned to apply a little gas when I have to stop at red lights to keep it running. It will still stall out. I have been searching the internet every few months to see if anyone had the same problem and finally found your investigation action number pe13016.
