Seven problems related to tire have been reported for the 1999 Chrysler 300M. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The original set of tires was losing air slowly. Independent shop replaced the entire set. Consumer noticed the same problem with the new tires as with the original tires. Vehicle was taken back to the independent shop, and technician determined that inside metal on all four tires separated, as result, will never keep the air properly.
The tires developed cracks, causing loss of air pressure while driving.
Initially in may 2002, I had to replace a rim on my 1999 Chrysler 300m because it had cracked due to corrosion (this is what I was told by the technician who discovered it). Now, in 2003, three of the four tires are leaking air to the point where they need to be refilled every week or two. When contacting the service center where I had the work done, they advised me that the 300m & town & country Mini-vans seem to be experiencing the same type of problems as I'm describing.
Caller said the alloy wheels oxidized and lost air in the tires. All 4 wheels were doing it. This has been going on for 3 years. Consumer was putting air in tires, cleaned them, and by night all the tires were flat. Dealer said there was nothing they could do. Manufacturer has not been contacted yet.
Consumer is experiencing unregular locking and vibration. Rocking at 20 and 70 mph coming from front of the vehicle. Took to dealer, and they said it was a problem with the two front goodyear eagle tires.
Tires wore out prematurely. Original set was replaced at 7000 miles. Second set was replaced at 27000 miles. Currently at 31000 miles tires need replacement again. Tread was wearing unevenly and more than it should. Please add model of tires and size.
