1 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 1999 Chrysler 300M

Failure Date: 10/01/2007

I recently purchased a used 1999 Chrysler 300m. I had no problems with the car for the first couple of months. After about 3 months I noticed the interior lights began to turn on and off by themselves. Shortly after that my factory stereo went out. The next thing I noticed was the transmission slipping. After that my driver and passenger side speakers went out. After that my headlights began turning on and off by themselves when the car was parked and turned off. After that my heating unit would come on automatically whenever I would start the car. I've noticed a slight burning smell inside the car once I've started it up. My heated seats work when they want to. There's a whistling noise underneath the hood. My engine sounds loud now. There's a strange noise coming from the rear wheel on the driver side. It sounds like something electrical is shorting out. Its has a dense high pitched sound. Sometimes when I'm driving at night and I have my headlights on they will flicker on and off. When I try to start the car the engine struggles to turn over. It seems as if either my battery is dying or my alternator has had it. The car has died on me before while I was driving it. There is a mysterious electrical problem with these Chrysler 300m cars. I've taken my car to several mechanics and none of them could pinpoint the exact cause of all these problems I'm having with the car. I guess I'm !@#$%. I can't afford to pay for all of these defects and I no longer have a warranty on the car. Yeah, I'm really !@#$%.

2 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2002 Chrysler 300M

Failure Date: 07/02/2006

The engine light comes on and the mechanic would put the car on the machine but he could not find out what was wrong. The radio was the first to go out. There has been several times when the alarm system came on while I was in the house and there was no one near my car. Three years ago, the speedometer was not working one day while I was driving, but it started back working. Now there is something running my battery down over night. The alternator is alright and I replaced the battery. The tire pressure display is not working.

3 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2002 Chrysler 300M

Failure Date: 06/10/2006

Electrical issue started about six months after purchasing my 2002 Chrysler 300m. The lights would spontaneously flicker for no reason while driving. This happened while driving at night, luckily lights came back on. Battery drains out every 3-6 months. At the time of purchase the car was still under warranty- the dealer claimed they were unable to fix a problem if it wasn't occurring at their shop; alternator checked and was working. The battery issue has not been resolved. A year ago the problem with the 3rd gear began. I was driving with my children when the car seemed to have down shifted, it felt heavy. The car has also turned off while driving one time. Input/output speed sensors replaced, transmission oil changed, ground wire checked .
