Door autolock mechanism failure, power window failure prior to the April 13, 2001 incident. Parked in driveway, picked up four children. Engaged car in reverse, automatically accelerated at a minimum of 20mphs, applied brakes would not work, tried putting car in neutral, tried shutting off car, had to turn wheel of car to avoid hitting a house across the street, car continued to move forward over a curb and finally stopped once it hit bushes in a neighbors yard. Vehicle was inspected by Chrysler special investigations, was informed that no association was made in any manufacturing or assemby system defects. Throttle cable was not binding and was operating normally, hoses in tact per Chrysler. Referred to my insurance agency to file a claim. Car max the dealer where I purchased the car offered no assistance as well. November 12, 2001 took car in to have repairs done to doors and windows, left door lock mechanism replacement $300. 00, all four window regulator assemblies had gone bad. Over $1,000 to repair.
