The contact owns a 1996 Chrysler Concorde. The contact stated that her vehicle was included and repaired in the recall under NHTSA campaign number: 98v184000 (fuel system, gasoline). 2 Fuel Injection Rail problem of the 1996 Chrysler Concorde

Failure Date: 03/21/2007

On 03/21/2007 I was coming from work and smelled gasoline, on having my vehicle checked by a local mechanic, it was discovered that the fuel rail and the fuel line had become disengaged. As I had the fuel rail changed under a recall order back in 11/2007, I contacted the dealer that had completed the work back then. I was advised that if it was their fault the repairs would be made at no charge. If not I would be charged $75 per hr. It was agreed that the dealer would pick up the vehicle on 03/22/2007. As of 03/25/3007 my vehicle had still not been picked up. I am unable to drive said vehicle because of "gasoline" squirting out from the disconnection and pouring out on the highway and on the vehicle.

3 Fuel Injection Rail problem of the 1997 Chrysler Concorde

Failure Date: 12/29/2004

(1) always smelled gasoline after driving car for a while. A couple of repair places could not find a problem. I finally figured out myself where the leak was in the engine and pointed it out to a repair man. (2) this repair man told me it definitely was leaking and if I let it go any longer there would certainly be an engine fire. When I questioned him about other occurrences of this problem, he said that he had seen this happen more often on Chrysler's than any other car. (3) he replaced the fuel pressure regulator, as well as the fuel dampner assembly with fuel rail. I don't have the old parts. Let me know if you need them and I will try to obtain them.

5 Fuel Injection Rail problem of the 1996 Chrysler Concorde

Failure Date: 02/14/2003

Steering rack replacement in 1996 Chrysler Concorde is very costly and problematic. Had I known about such an inherent bad design I would never have purchased this vehicle, let alone any Chrysler product. My particular unit has failed at the low mileage of 110,000 and became dangerously close to failure! furthermore, during the repair process many other components had to be replaced due to the required tear down to access the failed steering rack components. In addition to the steering rack failure, the fuel rail gaskets also failed in leakage at the same time.

6 Fuel Injection Rail problem of the 1999 Chrysler Concorde

Failure Date: 01/27/2000

A heavy odor of gas coming into the vehicle. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, and they didn't seem to think that it was important to report this to nhts . The fuel rail was replaced. . Et.
