Entered freeway battery light came on and lost power. Starting exiting freeway then car excelerating on its own. Engine was reving and humming so much I thought the engine would catch on fire. Car would not slow down. I had to put it in neutrual and hit the brakes as I exit the freeway to safely parked. Called tow truck for service.
The subframe has rotted. The rockers rotted. My electrical system is failing. I have only owned this vehicle for 7 months.
Takata recall, I was driving my vehicle when it just cut off in the middle of the road. I popped the hood to see what was wrong, and underneath my hood, sparks was flying everywhere. I tried jumping my car to get it home and it melted the battery cables.
I own a 2006 Chrysler pacific. While traveling 35 mph the abs lights, and brake lights illuminated, followed by a chime noise that sounded through out the vehicle. Then a ticking noise prior to the vehicle loosing all electrical power, this happens everyday! this a very dangerous situation and when this happens I have to sit and wait for awhile, once for more than 30 min then car cuts back on and works fine until the abs lights, come on and the engine light followed by the chimes and the ticking the car cuts off again. Can not get a mechanic to fix it they have told me that there is no way to fix it that Chrysler knows about the recall and refuses to do anything about it. I have had the battery replaced. Problem #2 is the mounts that hold the motor are corroded and rusted. I was told that this is another defect and there have been instances where the motor just falls out. Two mounts have been replaced but I still hear the knocking and a pulling sensation sometimes. First incident was in January the past two months it happens everyday at least once a day where the car just cuts off.
Driving 65mph, was on a bridge. Inside of car went totally black. Had to coast it to railing of bridge as there was no shoulder. Car completely stopped on its own. Saw smoke, waited for clearing in passing traffic. Fire erupted on driver's side under hood. Local fire department said it was the computer and battery. Had I not jumped out I would have been dead. Fired melted hood to grill and had to axed open to completely extinguish fire. There was no previous indication of electrical shortage.
2006 Chrysler Pacifica I had my tires rotated the abs and traction control light came on I looked this information up online and found out that this is happening all the time on the Pacifica and Chrysler will not take responsibility for this problem the charge just to look at the car is 85 dollars then the cost of repair.
On March 5, 2012 I was required to pay $95. 00 for a full diagnostic to satisfy [xxx] ([xxx] corporate office). The service was rendered by capital Chrysler 200 waterfield ridge place, garner nc 27529. The service rep [xxx] and service manager [xxx] informed me that the catalytic converter replacement looked used due to the rust on it and was causing other mechanical failures in my vehicle but would not confirm this in writing. I do not have an extra $1000. 25 sitting around to pay for a part that Chrysler is well aware of it being defective or used. Chrysler settled a lawsuit in 2005-6 with the u. S. Environmental protection agency for the defective catalytic converter. In closing, as a resolution to this matter I would like all repairs related to this matter replaced at no expense to me by a certified Chrysler dealership of my choosing. . Read more...
