1 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2018

Random stalling w/ all functions stopping. Brakes, steering. . Ect. Took it to several licensed/certified mechanics and not 1 of them can tell me what is wrong. This has nearly caused 2 serious crashes so I no longer allow anyone to ride in the car with me. The stalling has happened on the highway going nearly 70mph, on a 2 lane highway through town with heavy traffic going approx. 35 mph, its happened in my neighborhood street, on the way home from work on a country road (several times). The vehicle hasn't ever stalled while running and stationary. For me this has only happened while in motion.

4 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2015

I have had this 2007 Pacifica since 2009, bought it with 12,000 miles on it. It now has 109,000 miles. In the past year the car has stalled intermittently when slowing down at stops, took it in, no problem found. It has also had light smoke coming from under the hood intermittently since I bought it, had it looked at several times, no problem found. This week I was driving the car at @30ish mph when it stalled on a busy road, but was luckily able to turn off the road with no power steering safely. It has been at the dealers for 3 days and no problem found at this point. I have children and no longer feel safe driving them in this vehicle. If ther is "no problem" to fix, that is a major problem, because a car stalling waiting to be hit and someone injured, is a problem!!! I have called corporate and awaiting to speak with a case manager about this issue, but from what I have read online, if the dealership cannot mimic the issue, then corporate will likely say there is no problem. I cannot just wait to see if it happens again, and next time on the highway as I have read in other cases, when someone could be hurt! also concerned with the "no problem" when it smokes under the hood, as I have read a couple of incidents where the car caught fire. Have a rental car now. . . Hope corporate doesn't blow me off!.

9 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2014

This vehicle tends to stall at or below 35 mph. Have been to independent mechanics and Chrysler and no one can seem to figure out why it stalls. When it stalls there is a loss of control of the car and is very dangerous especially when in rush hour traffic. My wife drives this vehicle along with my 3 children. I have seen numerous complaints on this matter and I am quite surprised there has not been a recall.

10 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2014

When we exit the highway the cars stalls and sometimes even lunges. We have taken the car to 2 different mechanics and they say there isn't anything to fix. Chrysler even said there isn't anything they can do. I feel this a major safety issue because when this has happened to me I've had my grandson with me and it took 4 tries to get the car to start again. Also when driving in rush hour traffic the traffic can stop suddenly which will cause an accident. Chrysler has fixed this problem on earlier years of this model, I don't think they want to be bothered with repairing a known issue on a vehicle they no longer manufacture.

11 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2014

While driving, the engine just stopped/stalled. Steering, brake and gas pedals stopped functioning. I have to wait until the car fully stopped. Scary and feels so helpless in the middle of the road!.

14 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

While driving my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica it will stall. This often occurs at speeds less than 40mph. This is a safety concern and when I called the dealer they did not seem familiar with the problem. This could very vellum result in a fatality since there is no warning. The car will loose steering function after the stall and I will need to attempt to pull out of traffic to restart the car. I am uncomfortable that the manufacturer has not recalled this or attempted to correct this problem, which seems fairly common.

16 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2013

Just bought this vehicle from Dodge dealership. One four different occasions a couple at low speed <15 and a couple at higher speed >40 the vehicle stalls or turns off. You lose power steering (hard to control) and braking(hard to press pedal). No engine lights or warning lights to show failure anywhere. Vehicle starts right back up and may not do it again for weeks. From what I have been reading there is no sure findings to the cause and maybe a TSB out there by now shows the problem. I am worried about the quality or safety of my family should the wife be driving the vehicle at a rate of speed and it cut out on her and she panic or be in rush traffic. It not only endangers her but any vehicle around her. Before I take it to the dealership and pay lots of money I dont have I need to know what my options are and why it appears this has been an issue and not resolved. If you put in google 2007 Pacifica awd stalling while driving you get more than enough repsonses and it led me to here even. I would whole heartedly appreciate any and all information and actions I can do to get this fixed and resolved for my family.

20 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2012

My vehicle continues to stall without warning while I am driving. It generally happens while turning left and always under the speed of 45 mph. I have taken it to several dealerships who have fixed different things they feel is causing the stalling and nothing is working. I have paid for the repairs and the dealership says unless it happens when they have it they cant diagnose it. I have almost been hit several times because the cars behind me have no warning the car is shutting off. I have contacted Chrysler who told me to take it to a dealer and they would "help" me figure out what is wrong with the car. So I did and they cleaned the throttle body and gave me new spark plugs. Chrysler was going to make me pay for the repairs and I fought them on it and they agreed to pay for the parts and I paid labor and the car is still stalling. I have read online hundreds of other complaints for their Pacifica stalling and doing the same thing mine is. There is a recall for the 2005/2006 vehicles for the same thing but not for the 07 model. I dont undertand how Chrysler can ignore this problem when so many people are complaining about the same issue as the vehicles that were recalled. I am in fear of my life and the lives of my family while driving this car I can guarantee I will get hit eventually and I want it on record that I tried everything I could to get the problem resolved with no luck.

23 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2011

My 2007 Chrysler Pacifica began stalling on 8/17/2011. We have to put the car in neutral and re-start, no matter what the traffic conditions. We lose all power steering and brakes when this happens. After about 3 stalling incidents in a short time. We took it to the dealership. They had the car for a couple of days and couldn't find the cause. They sent me home and said to keep a diary of problems. I kept track for a year. In that time the car had stalled 24 times. The time of day and conditions were all noted. In August of this year, the car stalled numerous times. We took the car back to the dealership with the diary. They have had my car since 8/27/12. We have incurred $800. 00 in rental car expense. They put a computer on board and sent the car home with my husband to drive for a week. He pushed the button when it stalled 4 times. The computer recorded the stalls, but no codes. They can't re-create the problem and have no answers. I some times drive with our grandchildren and will not drive the car until this is resolved. Motor mounts were replaced early in our ownership. The only thing that Chrysler can offer was to clean the throttle body. The dealership did that and it didn't help. The car has started stalling at higher speeds. Initially it was 10-25 mph. The last few times it was around 35 mph. This is clearly a safety issue and needs to be taken seriously.

24 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 04/08/2011

The car continues to stall at low speeds. We have taken to mechanic and they do not find any service alerts, and weren't able to duplicate on a test drive. It is starting to pick up in frequency to where it is doing it every other day now. I also called the service group at the chrsyler dealer I purchased it from, and they said they can only do what I had already done with the other mechanic shop. I went to the Chrysler forum to post and see if anyone else had experienced this, and see numerous postings of this issue over the years. I am very concerned with the safety of my family, as when the car stalls, it locks up and I lose control. I have to pull over and restart.

25 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2011

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25-30 mph, the vehicle would suddenly stall and there would be a loss of steering and brakes. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The check engine and oil warning lights illuminated on the instrumental panel prior to and after the stall. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they could not duplicate the failure. They stated that they found a burnt wire in the engine which may have caused the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure still occurred on an intermittent basis since the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000. The VIN was unavailable.

26 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2010

My 2007 Chrysler Pacifica stalls while driving. We have only owned it for 9 months but in that time we have had five stalling issues. Our local dealership has tried cleaning various parts of the transmission, but it continues to stall. I noticed that 2003 to 2006 Pacifica's were recalled for a similar issue.
