1 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2015

Power steering fails completely for about 30 seconds or more. This occurs when the vehicle travels through any water on the road that may splash into the engine compartment. The steering belt gets wet and will slip (making a screeching noice until it spins off the water and drys). The power assisted steering will stop completely not allowing the driver to maneuver the vehicle until the power steering is restored. This problem will cause the driver not to be able to change the direction of the vehicle in any direction to complete a turn or avoid a collision! it is very dangerous and can occur without warning. We are looking into the problem. It maybe that a splash guard was left off and not replace during a previous service. This has not been confirmed to be the fix. We will update this post once this is confirmed to be the fix.

2 Power Steering Failed problem

The contact also stated that the power steering assist would fail intermittently. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 104,000.
