Blind Spot Detection Problems of Chrysler Pacifica

Rearback up camera intermittently unavailable even after recall with software update. Sometimes is distorted and delayed, sometimes blue or black screen and says camera unavailable. Have to repeatedly reboot camera system.

Chrysler performed the 73b recall and n my van in August of 2025. Ever since performing this recall the van has a continuous stream of check engine lights and error codes. The van has been at the dealership at least 6 times for well over 100 days. The check engine lights and error codes always return. The hybrid battery recently had a failure code, and was replaced. I didn't even make it home before I got a check engine light and error codes. The dealership cleared the check engine light and sent me on my way. The codes returned and the van is back at the dealership. The codes I have been getting are : service hybrid system, parking brake temporarily unavailable, service electronic throttle control, service shifter( I was not able to drive as it wouldn't go into gear), service electronic stability control, blind spot alert, and service airbag system. On the longest service visit (over 80 days), Chrysler ended up just telling the dealership to erase the stored codes and return the van to me. They test drive it 50 miles. The error codes returned. They currently have the van again for the same reason.

Odometer 66466. Hybrid battery charge level 100%. When starting the vehicle the issue started with the transmission shifter knob stuck in gear park. After turning off and on a few times, the transmission shifter knob would shift into reverse. I then drove it to a dealer service for repair. During the drive several dash warning messages appeared. Also, the blind spot warning system did not function and the backup camera did not function. Dash warning messages while driving to dealer service: parking brake, tps, service electronic stability control, engine, red wrench, amber throttle, brake, service electronic throttle control, service hybrid electric vehicle system. Stability control, blind spot alert, arrived at dealer, kept engine on, brought service tech rep to vehicle and demonstrated the issue while in service bay. Mileage 66474. Last message I saw, service hybrid electric vehicle system. Friday, April 10 2026. The vehicle was in the shop for service hybrid electric vehicle system just 750 miles previous to this system failure. Dealer is unable to fix problem. Hybrid system still under warranty. Hybrid battery replaced last year, 12 volt battery replaced twice after. Vehicle is beyond unreliable, there is significant risk of failure at any time.

Van is only 2 years old, maybe 30k miles on it, and it dies while in motion from "electrical issues" of some sort, that are not even battery related. Never seen this in a vehicle ever. Happened to my wife twice in one week while transporting children. They are very lucky to be alive still. This model should not be allowed on the market in this condition.

While driving you feel the steering wheel sticking when at a certain degree. It has mostly occurred when on a curve and when going over 40 mph. We take several long trips and it has happened multiple times.

I rented this car from budget on Saturday, may 31, 2025. When I drove it on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The check engine light came on and the car gave a warning that it would shut off. The first time I saw this notification I was stopped at a stopped sign at a 4 way intersection. The car proceeded to shut off after some time (maybe 20 seconds or so, not sure). I was at a full stop and the car was in "drive". When the car shut off it went into "park" automatically. I turned the car back on and put it back in "drive". The car would not move. I check to make sure the parking brake was not turned on and it was not. I put the car in "park" and back into "drive" and the car still did not move. I turned the car off a few more times before it switched back into gear normally. I was unable to return the car at that time. About an hour later as I was driving on the interstate in the left lane, the same warning light came on. I had to immediately move from the left lane of a 6 lane interstate all the way to the right shoulder. There was no exit or left shoulder. Once I got there the car idled for a moment and shut off; I am uncertain how long it was before it shut off. I waited a couple of minutes since I was also shaken up at having to move so many lanes on a busy interstate with so many lanes. I got to my destination after about 30 minutes. On the way home about an hour in to the drive, the same thing occurred. I moved onto to the right shoulder of a two lane interstate at this time. This time I shut the car off myself and waited a couple of minutes to turn the car back on. I then drove another 45 minutes home. Then this morning, same warning in my driveway before I left to return it. There were issues with the blind spot warning not working some of the time as well as the display screen would flicker on and off or just become disabled but still visible. I have reported this to the rental company but I want that car off the road.

Hello: my 2018 Pacifica hybrid was just recalled, and serviced, yet the hybrid battery only last a few miles before needing to be recharged. Also, when in reverse the back up camera doesn’t always come on and doesn’t beep when approaching an obstacle. It will also stay on while driving forward.

My vehicle has no back up camera or blind spot warning. Took to dealer for recall and they said they were only responsible for a software update and not solving the recall problem. My vehicle still does not have either of these functions. I was told I would have to pay for the repairs for this recall.

My brake starts hissing, and starts pushing back against my leg. It happens much when I push brake padel then it hissing sound and brake padel pushes back, the vehicle starts crawling. I got messege blind spot monitor unavailable. Engine hood paint fall off, easy visible paint fall off or peeling paint. This one I brought used car from alm gwinnett.

I was backing out of the driveway. I had all the safety features on, and I was checking my surroundings. Typically, the blind spot and front sensors would alert me to dangers. However, on this and many other occasions the warnings didn't alert me to danger on my passenger side that I couldn't see. This resulted in damage to the front quarter panel of my van as well as damage to the bumper. The body shop said it would cost at least $5000 to repair the damage. I can't afford that; in turn I am driving around with the damage.

The vehicle loss power while driving on the highway would not accelerate.

The electrical interface components stopped working spontaneously; the speedometer and rpm gauge dropped to zero, the windshield wipers turned on, and all of the "check engine" type warning lights lit up on the dash (check engine, seatbelt, airbag, battery, etc). The warning messages started popping up one after another on the dash, for example, "service trans stop safely shut off engine to engage park," "stop/start not ready due to outside temperature," "park brake temporarily unavailable" etc. I tried to put the car in park, but the round shift knob locked in neutral. I could not turn off the engine with the ignition button (keyless ignition). There was no way to turn off the engine without opening the hood and disconnecting something manually. Everything spontaneously went back to normal for about 15 minutes, then it happened again and has not gone back to normal since. The photos I am attaching were taken during the first incident, during the second incident, and in between the two incidents when the electrical was working again.

Purchased new [xxx] from above. Towed/ driven to service over 3 attempts prior to 7/2023. Ongoing issue of vehicle fts/intermittent fts/vehicle cutting off while in gear. Multiple failed repairs, that would qualify for lemon. Parts replaced summer 2023, minimal issues until 6/2025. 6/2025, fts issues returned/dealer refused to run services; even with warranty. July 2025: van multiple fts/error lights/eventually towed/loaner given. Constant claims issue could not be replicated at dealer. Go to p/u 8/8/25-would not start on lot, after being cleared. Chrysler tech sent out with no issues found per technician; although service manager reports he personally had multiple issues of fts including am of technician visit. Multiple conversations had with mr. Sheets and mr. Freeman. [xxx] fts per “red” at dealer prior to vehicle being returned to me; foreman suggested ignition replacement/returned by dealer to residence that pm. Rf hub may need replaced, if issue reoccurred but shop refused to replace then. Van was taken to pittsburgh, PA labor day weekend and fts away from hotel on 9/2/25. Sheets provided loaner that pm at residence. Rf hub replaced, van returned on 9/8/25. [xxx], van fts at residence in late pm. 9/10/25, dealer contacted asking for service/loaner; no answers received. Drove after multiple fts’s to dealer. Mr. Sheets stated “he can’t have me driving one of his cars for months” that dealer has “done all they can. ” also stated “even though we’ve had issues from the start, there was a period where van functioned and ‘at least we got some use out of it. ’ 9/19/25, Chrysler tech could not find issue and mr. Freeman stated mr. Sheets said “they will no longer pay for a rental going forward. ” multiple calls and media of vehicle failing to start. Vehicle unreliable/unsafe to operate on roadway. Vehicle not reliable to get to/from and cannot be relied upon in sudden event/ emergency; or if vehicle were to malfunction out of home area/in a dangerous environment. Minor front end collision resulted in the vehicle bursting into flames. Completely engulfed and a total loss. The other vehicle drove away after the accident.

The vehicle is a 2019 Chrysler/braun mobility van, my wife is a paraplegic that has no feeling from the chest down. The uconnect system is the issue. The blind spot alert does not work, the power sliding doors do not work, the windows will not operate, the heat go to 76 degrees and will not turn off, the info center goes black, the back up camera will not work, the navigation system stops working, the audio stops working, the audio/bluetooth will not work, the panel lights come on but do not work. We were on a trip when the uconnect system malfunctioned and all the above happened. The temp outside was about 75 degrees and the heat came on and the windows would not work. My wife's foot got so severely burned it needed medical attention and is still dealing with this 3 months later. The vehicle became an oven. With the power sliding doors being inop my wife is either a prisoner in her own vehicle or she cannot enter the vehicle at all. With her limited mobility and the backup camera inop it makes it unsafe for to back the vehicle up safely. If we are not familiar with an area we are going to it makes it that much more difficult to find our destination without the navigation system working.
