36 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

We bought the car as a certified used car from a dealership in February, 2019. The car is a 2018, and had 22,000 miles at time of purchase. The car first stalled in late March, 2019. It stalled while at a red light, and cars had to be directed around the car. My child was in the car with me at the time. An error message appeared with something regarding the stability control. Since that first time, the car has stalled at a light 2 more times. We are bringing the car back to the dealer for service. When we called to let the dealer know the issue, they said they've never heard of this happening. I find that hard to believe with so many similar complaints. I am very concerned that this is a known issue that is not being addressed.

37 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 03/07/2019

My 2018 Chrysler Pacifica car stopped while I was driving. I had slowed down to make a left turn and it shut itself off. It quickly flashed a message about stability control and then showed stop, start, restart required. The car was still in drive. When I tried pressing the brake it was very hard and wouldn't move. I put the car in park and tried shutting it off and restarting it, but couldnt. I had a line of cars behind me, including a school bus and put my hazards on. I'm not sure how many tries it took, but I was finally able to get it to start and drive home. I have since driven the car without incident but I am very nervous that it will happen again. It seems like a huge safety risk.

38 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/26/2019

Van will stall during low speed or idle. Stability/traction control will flash and van will need to be restarted. Has happened multiple times in intersections and once in stop and go highway traffic.

39 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/15/2019

This complaint is just one of many I've had. Most recently, I've been stalled while waiting at a red light (thankfully) on a city street. I had an error message come on shortly followed by a prompt telling me that start/stop was required. So I had to put the car in park, restart and then car drove. This happened twice in one day and dealer couldn't find anything wrong. Left it has protocol passed all recommended checkpoints and that an engineer has to determine fix.

40 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/25/2019

On several recent occasions, our 2018 Pacifica (with ~3k miles on it) has stalled on us at an intersection after an error in regards to stability control. This has happened to both me and my wife while driving, and has nearly caused accidents on multiple occasions. The vehicle message has instructed us to put the vehicle in park and restart, and this has happened to us while in the turning lane facing oncoming traffic. The issue has happened to me as we were slowing down just prior to turning. We have young children, and this is a serious safety concern for us.

41 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/17/2019

The vehicle electronics malfunctioned with the windows rolling down on there own. Following that the vehicle completely shutdown at around 40 mph locking up the steering, loss of power steering, engine turned off and would not restart. This occurred on the highway and this is the second time this occurred. The key fob will not work and the car will not start again. I can't even lock the vehicle. Luckily we had started to slow down and did not have to turn or this would have resulted in an accident with my kids in the vehicle. I will not be putting my family in this van again.

42 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/13/2019

On Sunday January 13th while getting off highway lost power steering while taking exit. Due to lack of power steering van went off the road up an embankment and damaged vehicle. I called Chrysler on 1/14/2019 and reported issue. Claim #57836097. I was told that someone from incident reporting team would be contacting me within 4-5 days. I have since called them again on 1/22/2019 and again today 1/28/2019. I have no choice but to drive vehicle because I am a 100% disabled veteran and in a powerchair. The van is customized for my powerchair and my only means of transportation. The power steering keeps going out intermittently and now other electrical issues are occuring now as well. The passenger side window comes down on its own, traction control light on dash goes on and off, stability warning flashes on dash and of course power steering light comes on and says service. Prior to the incident on the highway off ramp the steering went out for a few seconds. I brought it to bonneville dealer in manchester nh and they told me it was just a fluke. Obviously it was not a fluke and my van is now damaged. Drivers side sliding door does not close right and is bent upwards and not sure what else may be damaged. Waiting on Chrysler for next step.

43 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/07/2019

My vehicle has been in for service at least 4 times for the stalling issue. I am either driving at 24mph or less and it just shuts off. Off. Sometimes im sitting at a light and it shuts off. I have almost been rear-ended 3 times. Police have had to direct traffic aroud me twice. My children are scared to ride in it. The media does not always work. A usb plug doesnt work the one used for car play. The rear sensors do not always work. This van is currently sitting in my garage. Useless to me. I am not putting my kids at risk any longer.

44 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/21/2018

Vehicle started having issues starting, the vehicle would not start once the start button was pushed. Once it did start and put into reverse or drive the vehicle would not move. I would have to turn the vehicle off, and on again several times before it would start. The vehicle would shut off and then turn back on while on the interstate whenever speed was reduced. The headlights would spontaneously shut off at night while driving, and could not be turned back on. The inside dash lights would also turn off making for a very unsafe situation. The air control also did not work properly. It would be very hot at 68 degrees, and would not blow a steady flow of air. It will speed up then slow down.

45 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/17/2018

While car parked, turned on car, car stuck in "run" position, unable to change gears, unable to turn car off.

46 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/14/2018

While driving my 2018 Pacifica in 45 mph traffic on a local road, the car flashed stability control and lost all power. The brakes went hard, the car completely stalled. The display read stability control then disappeared from the screen and it instructed me to put car in park and to restart the car. The second time this happened I was driving 50 mph on a state highway slowing to make a left turn when the vehicle did the exact same thing as stated above.

47 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/01/2018

The automatic start stop icon randomly comes on and makes it hard to accelerate. The check engine light came on took it into Chrysler for repairs and three days later it started again with the automatic start stop icon showing up. The vehicle is moving when this icon comes on and is in motion. It all started after I took it in for a vehicle recall and they said they fixed it. I am unsure of the recall date but I purchased the car in Dec of 2017 and have taken it in multiple times. It has only 19400 miles on it.

48 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/01/2018

1. In motion on city streets vehicle has harsh shifting, jerks like its shifting into a different gear while driving under 40 mph. This started happening two weeks or so after purchasing this vehicle brand new and does this once to twice a week. 2. ) in motion on streets and freeway the stereo goes black randomly and will not turn back on, radio also will randomly jump from multiple stations including am/fm, carplay, etc. While driving. 3). In motion driving on city streets the vehicle antilock brake system kicked in while pulling out of driveway and stopped vehicle dead in its tracks with 3 children in the vehicle. I made multiple attempts and was unable to release antilock brake system for one hour until it automatically shut off and then was able to drive back into driveway.

49 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/26/2018

The first incident occurred when I was in a parking lot. I got into my car and when I went to press the brake and push to start, my brake was locked and my computer started flashing service electronic stability control, park brake unavailable, enter auto-theft code and other numerous error messages. I had to have my car towed to the closest service and they didn't find anything wrong. Yesterday I was in traffic at a stop light and my car dinged, the check engine light came on, and my car said to put it in park and restart (this happened twice at the same light) then the error messages starting flashing (service air bag, service electronic stability control, blind spot alert unavailable, etc) today when I went to start my car the engine did not come on and the same error messages starting flashing as well as the check engine. This became an entirely new concern when this started happening while I'm driving. I have two small children in the car, and I'm pregnant. I just don't feel safe driving and this is our main vehicle, so we don't have much of a choice.

51 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/27/2018

When taking off, my engine shifts hard, or stalls. I have had this to 3 different certified Chrysler mechanics, with no luck getting it fixed.

52 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/15/2018

While driving approximately 35 mph, control panel stated "vehicle not in park" and then completely shut down. I had to coast into a parking lot. I put the vehicle in park and van restarted immediately. However, when I put the van into d (drive) the car reversed! I immediately braked and then preceded to drive forward. The "vehicle is not in park" has happened approximately 3 other times while driving but the engine never stopped. This is the 2nd time my vehicle has stalled while driving. It looses all power!!! the first time it was in the dealership, they could not detect any issues. It was very similar except the panel stated "vehicle is not in drive". This should not be happening to a brand new car! this is a safety issue and recalls should be placed as I have seen several other vehicles with similar problems. I have 3 small children and luckily they were not with me.

53 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/25/2018

Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica which was a trade in from another 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that within months of owning the vehicle the esc warning indicator remained illuminated which was the same failure from the other vehicle that was traded in for this vehicle. 56 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/22/2018

When I was driving on the freeway (driving 45 mi/hr), it stopped moving accelerating (seems like the car is actually slowing down) even when I was stepping on the gas pedal. And then the car stalled. . . . . . . It was a good thing I was on the very right side of the lane. The fuel pump module and/or the powertrain control module (pcm) software may allow the engine to stall under certain operating conditions, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will need to reprogram/replace the pcm/tcm and/or replace the fuel pump module to correct this concern. In most cases, aside from stalling and engine revving up and down on its own, there's a lot of hard jerking when driving the vehicle. It seems like the engine has a mind of its own since when I accelerate, the car will not move or delay in moving forward and if I let go of the gas, the car moves forward. It's a safety concern.

57 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/21/2018

My vehicles service engine light has been on for a few months. I got the vehicle serviced twice and each time the light would not go off. A night or two ago I was trying to back my vehicle and it wouldn't back I was on a leveled surface in my aunt's front yard. Instead when I would put it in reverse it would cut off each time. So thankfully I had enough room in front of me to pull forward. I thought this was the only problem but as of this morning I was driving and my car cut off in the middle of the road I was driving on level concrete turning to make a left turn. I thank god that there wasn't a carecoming up behind me. So now I'm dealing with a car that can't back or drive without cutting off.

58 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 04/30/2018

Bought new, currently has approx. 1200 miles on it. Van has stalled while driving multiple times while showing error messages including "stop/start unavailable, service stop/start system", the letter a! with an arrow around it. When van stalls the gear knob flashes in "d" or drive mode. Taken to service for first incident week of 4/16, dealership replaced the ecm. Picked up vehicle on 4/18 and stalled again on 4/22 and 4/23 while showing the exact same error messages. Towed to dealer on 4/24 and they kept it until 4/30 with no fix as they said they could not replicate the errors or stalling. Picked up the van on 4/30 and the vehicle stalled again and exhibited the same error codes while not even a quarter mile from leaving the dealership. I pulled over, put the van in park, started the van again and took it back to the dealer and the onsite manager took a picture of the error code a! and it is still in service for the 3rd time. I have pictures and videos to support my issues. This vehicle absolutely stalls while driving. I have notified Chrysler corp directly and they are monitoring the service done at the dealership.

59 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 04/16/2018

Power steering goes out while driving in service for second time with only 800 miles on it passenger front window rolls down while driving by its self passenger auto side door would open one day vehicle shut off and came to a complete stop in a parking lot with no notice or reason.

60 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 04/06/2018

While driving at low speed or accelerating from being previously idle, the oil pressure warning light and the traction control indicator will simultaneously light up. Upon doing so, the engine will lose all power and shut off. This requires the driver to put the car into neutral or park to start the vehicle again. This problem occurring while driving has the potential to cause an accident at no fault of the driver from this loss of control.

61 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 03/05/2018

Bought vehicle on March 5, 2018, on the 2 hr drive home the cars main front center console starts rebooting and resetting over and over, the car then yanks us hard to the right and as I fight the driver assist mode to actually stay on the road, my husband and myself was plenty scared. We got the driver assist disabled, the heat was unable to be turned down, the steering wheel was so hot we had to put on gloves, the seat heat could not be shut down, we were with windows open in the snow, we had no choice. We attempted to restart the car, same functional issue. Contacted dealership following morning, informing them they said get in in right away, we took to local Chrysler on may 6th and they found nothing. They didn't believe us either. Happens again immediately the day after being there, again we took it in, they wanted it to continue when we pulled in we were told, I said it keeps taking us off the road. The 3rd time was the same only we almost side swiped another van by the skin of our teeth. Lucky we pulled hard and saved ourselves. It has now been at Chrysler repair more than 5-6 times same exact problem, their same exact excuses, no fix. Dealership where we purchased suggested we begin lemon law on it. I agree, I don't want to be the crash dummy. Chrysler has been notified online, they were insistent it can be fixed, its been a month, and they have had the car more than us, and they have put 1000 miles on it too, where as we barely got 450 with ride home. I have made first payment and have a rental now, a junkie one! please help us, this car is dangerous, and will cause a serious fatality the way it steers off suddenly. It is a catastrophe waiting to happen. On board computers fail on and off.

62 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/02/2018

I brought my car into the shop on Friday February 2, because I had experienced on 2 separate occasions a stall. Once when I was turning out of my subdivision, so thankfully at a slow speed, however, the car stalled in the middle of a busy road that I was turning onto. The second time, I was pulling into the gas station, decellerating at about 30mph. I had no idea about this recall, I just knew that I needed to get it fixed, as I have 3 children that ride in my car every day. Once I arrived to the dealer, I was notified that there were 2 recalls for my vehicle, and that they wouldn't be able to fix either of them until April. I have owned the car for less than a year, and am terrified to put my children in this vehicle. Chrysler has informed me there is nothing they can do for me. That they will fix it in 2nd quarter of 2018. This is not ok. 2 saftey recalls and Chrysler is not doing anything about it. I know there must be others out there that are thinking this way as well, and that we can come together to get this taken care of. I will not wait around for my car to crash while I'm driving due to a stall and a recall that is not being fixed for 3-4 months. I am not impressed at all with Chrysler and will make sure they are held accountable.

63 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/25/2017

Pacifica stalling recall I am writing this email to inform you of an issue we have had with our brand new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica touring. Leaving our in-laws the other day, which mind you is directly across the street, we got to the end of the driveway to stop and look both ways ;) and the auto shut off engaged. When we released the break the car never turned back on and but stalled and rolled into the street, park break engaged and left us in the middle of the road. We tried pushing the button to turn the car back on and nothing. . . The car was still on but not running and wouldn't start. After disconnecting the battery and reconnecting we were able to start the car but none of the gears worked. . . No gear would engage when turning the knob, the emergency park brake would not dis-engage. We disconnected he battery one more time. . . Meanwhile still sitting t-boned in the middle of the road, waited about 30 seconds and reconnected at which time we were able to restart and turn the knob to low (no other gear would work and the park brake was still engaged, but it moved enough to get us out of the road and into our own driveway. We shut it off and called the dealership who towed it to their garage. They said they flashed the auto shut off feature and have not been able to replicate the problem. I feel it necessary to report this incident as it seems there have been many complaints of this vehicle stalling with no recall. I am concern this will happen again and maybe next time I won't be so luck to be stranded in the middle of the road on a slow christmas morning. Please advise me as to where and what I should do next. I will be picking up the vehicle (which I love by the way) tomorrow and crossing my fingers. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, edie & ben pelletier VIN# 2c4rc1dgxhr804612 mileage 1200.

67 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/25/2017

Car, with no warning, lost all acceleration while driving approximately 35 mph and flashed several warning lights on dashboard including electronic stability control, forward collision warning, service forward collision warning, and electronic park brake failure. In addition, the shifter knob light blinks and switches to 'p'. At that point, I can only drift the car to a stop. In my case I was able to turn the car off, then restart it and the issue did not occur again for another 4 days. After 4 days, the exact same thing happened, this time while I was stopped at a red light. Took the car in for service and was told they performed a software update on the transmission and the car was fixed. I got about 1 mile from the dealer and the exact same thing happened while driving at approximately 30 miles per hour. Drove car back to the dealer and they have the car now again trying to figure out what is wrong.

68 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/06/2017

Car shuts off while driving. Warnings to put the car in park and electronic stability issues may pop up. The engine makes a weird noise and the car will often not shift to park to restart. This has occurred three separate occasions for me. Each time I was luckily driving slowly prior to a turn. I have brought the car to the dealer each time. They have tried replacing the shifter, updated the computer system and cleared error codes. Nothing works. This is a huge safety issue for our family and they just keep returning the car to me.
