Exterior Lighting Problems of Chrysler Pacifica

There are clearly many design flaws on my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid. One issue I am having with this car is the daytime running lights. These are expensive led lights that should function for the life of the vehicle. Unfortunately, I believe there is a problem with the control module on the led lights, and part of the driver's side light does not function. This is a clear safety issue, and seems to be very common problem people are having with the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid. I notified Chrysler about the issue, and because the car was just over 36 months old, they would not repair the issue. They told me I would have to pay for a complete replacement of the headlight which would cost over $1000. Just today, I noticed Ford posted a recall for the same issue they are having with their daytime running lights. I believe it is only fair for chrylser to provide a voluntary recall on this same issue because of the clear safety hazard it can creates. What is the purpose of daytime running lights if they don't function properly. This is a minivan I rely on to safely transport my family, and I do not want to risk a hazardous collision because Chrysler refuses to repair a faulty part in their vehicle.

While driving in heavy traffic in a construction zone of a two lane highway my vehicle alerted me to get over and stop because my vehicle was shutting down. The vehicle then slowed down more and more without break lights, causing vehicles to come up to my vehicle closely and almost hit me. Due to the construction there was no immediate place for me to pull over. I had to drive 3/4 of a mile like this with my child in the car. I was finally able to get to an on ramp with shoulder and pull over. We are lucky we were not plowed into by another car while this all was happening, or while we were waiting by the road. This issue is directly related to an apparent known issue on these cars, but not known to us.

We just purchased the used 2022 Pacifica today. , it was 75 miles back home. I left to get dairy queen; I turned left onto side road into norton commons and an alert came up stop safely your car will slow down soon. Very scary with a family and newb and kids and wife. Especially because cost bought it. Perhaps I should return it!.

Unknown, I have Pacifica 2020, it’s reported to the dealer and to independent car repair company with electric issues. The electric issues put me and my children in danger, I have to call 911 to get them help me in the middle of the road. The car stopped suddenly putting on park and suddenly shutdown. Even did not allowed me to use the emergency light / hazard warning lights. I felt trapped and one of the toddler was inside the van with me , so it’s out his kid in danger too. I took it to the dealership and they was not able to fix or to know the root of this issue. Just cost me money for inspection for nothing. Last time is repeating the same problem wa last night, was stuck in the middle of the night in freezing weather. I called my insurance company which was full coverage to ask road assistance, the answer was I have to wait like 6 hours till business is open. The van has been doing this before for past six months one after one . This van have electrical problems put me in danger several times .

This week was the second time our van lost both low beam headlights at the same time while driving at night. Both times the dealership wanted over $500 to replace them. Our drive train will catch while driving. We took our van in for this problem and were told by the dealership that "its just the way the transmission is made" when we bought the vehicle it was two years old and had rust spots on the hood. We had it repaired. Now, two years later the same rust bubbles are starting to appear on the hood.

I was stopped at a light and the car flashed all its lights and shifted me into park. After it started right back up but the check engine light came on and stayed on. It did this another two times as well and is very dangerous for me driving with my kids. Prior to this issue I had to replace shutter and head gasket (coolant leak). This car has so far cost 6k in repairs.

This vehicle like so many others have many problems with low miles! my van less than 70k mile and has a major oil leak! Chrysler will just give you the run around and you are stuck fixing it !! they know these split engine cars are junk and they left it to us consumer to fix it ! this should be a class action lawsuit because it’s way too many of us owners out here experiencing the same problems.

Like many other Pacifica owners, my led light on the passenger side flickers repeatedly when the vehicle is first started and then turns off.

The led strip/portion of my driver-side headlight has stopped functioning. It is all inside a closed headlight unit. When starting the vehicle, the led strip will pulse about 11 times quickly, then remain off. This has been an unsafe defect, because if I am in a lane that is for "left turn or keep straight", a vehicle in the intersection across from me could look briefly, see my left led strip out*, and assume I am turning left -- while in actuality I am keeping straight. This could lead to a head-on collision. *there are many newer vehicles where the led strip temporarily turns off when that side's turn signal is flashing. Additionally, this can cause a small percentage of uneven brightness. I have not found a way to turn off the working led strip on the passenger side without turning all the headlights off. It is always on (and always uneven) whenever the vehicle is running. The cost of the repair was quoted by the dealership I bought the van at - an unavoidable $180 diagnostic fee, plus $1,300+ to replace the whole unit, with no other options given. Furthermore, the expensive, "comprehensive wrap" extended vehicle plan the Chrysler dealership sold me refuses to cover the defect. Lastly, the service technician at both Chrysler dealerships' advise was to "just live with it". This is completely unjust and should be covered by Chrysler, as leds should certainly have thousands of working hours left past 5 years, let alone the short 3 years the factory warranty covers. There were no messages or warning signs before this defect was noticed, and there is no information on the defect provided by the manufacturer anywhere I have looked online or on the mopar website.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The hybrid charging system was repaired under NHTSA campaign number:22v077000 (hybrid propulsion system). The contact stated that shortly after the repair that the battery failed to hold the expected mileage when charged. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who did not diagnose or repair the vehicle. Since the failure had reoccurred the headlamps and the led lamps had malfunctioned. Both needed to be replaced however the vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

Steering wheel gets stuck on turns even slight ones have to pull it in correct direction. Lights on dash go off as I drive at night is terrible. Side sliding doors, back door have opened by self as I approached vehicle. Radio volume used to go up and down, same for the parking brake as I parked, it also while driving makes loud bunk noise and as it sholts like whip lash to my neck and spine. The tires loose air right away. Most important is steering and sholt. I drive for a living and these are so dangerous. Dealer in homestead acknowledged issues, but still same was told was fixed, yet I was to be charged to jyst have it checked $120, worst service ever at all 3 different dealers, customer service is terrible wait time for oul change is over 2 hrs one time. Am totally dissatisfied with this vehicle. The only good thing is the drop sests but I almost got squeezed in while moving about no sensor stops it.

This is the second complaint I have filed in 24 hours. I believe I am having a known problem/recall in my vehicle: engine stall due to software issue an engine stall can increase the risk of a crash. Nhtsa campaign number: 18v049000 I drove about 3 miles. Parked my vehicle and pushed the button to open the sliding back door. When I pushed the button the entire vehicle turned off including the engine and all the lights. Nothing on the dash remained lit. I tried to restart it and nothing happened. No sounds, click or lights appeared. I opened my door and waited about a minute then the interior lights turned on. The sliding back door had to be manually pulled shut at this point. I tried to start the vehicle again and nothing happened. I tried again and it hesitated, then started. I was able to drive about 10 miles to work after that.

While driving at 66 miles an hour the ess warning light came on but nothing else occurred. Stopped at rest area, turned vehicle off. Let vehicle sit few minutes restarted vehicle but the ess stayed on with no other effects.

A/c and heat fan will spontaneously increase and decreased power, dash lights will pulse brightness, dash will flash "electrical failure" "parking brake failure", and power steering starts to fail. Feels unsafe to drive.

Since purchasing our Pacifica, we have had nothing but issues that seem to not be getting resolved with Chrysler besides continuously in the shop. We purchased the vehicle brand new so we would not have the hassle of an unreliable vehicle. The vehicle has left us stranded with less than 30,000 miles on it. While driving down the interstate, the back hatch came open. After pulling over to fix this, as I had kids in the car, the vehicle kept opening. The dealership explained that there was a recall and fixed the issue. Chrysler was very difficult to work with through the first issue. The case manager said that I was exaggerated over the issues. We then had the automatic start/stop go out, this caused our display screen to freeze up as well to where we could not use our controls. At this time we again begin experiencing issues with the back hatch again. Upon contacting Chrysler a new case number was given and we were once again sent to the dealership. Shortly after being in the shop, I dropped my child off at soccer practice. When I returned to my vehicle the whole system shut down and doors opened and would not close all electrical was shut down. The vehicle had to be towed and was in service department for a week. We were left with one vehicle trying to haul our 5 children around with work as well. Recently the 9-1-1 is stuck on and freezes the display screen, along with the driver passenger sliding door opening without command of the button. The vehicle is scheduled to be serviced. . . . Again. This has been an ongoing issue to the point we do not feel safe hauling our family but financially are unable to trade in, leaving us stuck with a hefty car payment and unreliable vehicle. We would not feel comfortable trading this car in for another family as well.

Head lights cut off and on intermittently engine idles ruff.

Many Pacifica vans have issues with the led running light strips on at least one headlight. Ours acted up under warranty, but the dealer was unable to reproduce it and later quoted us over $600 to replace it. I looked in other Pacifica forums and numerous others are having the same issue, some are being quoted over $1000 for a replacement. This affects the ability to be seen during the daytime, is not covered under extended warranties, and we were not offered other remedies.

I was passing a slow moving motor home on state road 19 ocala national forest . In the middle of my pass the engine cut off. I had enough speed to finish my pass safely and pull to the side of road. All the panel lights were flashing and the car would not restart. I called roadside assistance Chrysler and after four hours the vehicle was towed to the nearest Chrysler dealer. The car has been at beck palatka florida, Chrysler since April first. They informed after five days that they were not equipped to handle repairs because of the new technology on this vehicle. I have now been informed that I will have to pay for towing from dealer in palatka to the st. Augustine dealer. I feel concern for my safety driving this new Chrysler hybrid if it can be repaired. We could have had loss of life had another vehicle struck our vehicle approaching head on. I had no acceleration in the middle of my passing, and with my wife and grandchildren in the car, this situation could have been tragic. My case number is 33839387 and I have been informed that it is going to be transferred to another person! please advise as to my next step in this process.

Car is stalling while driving and fuel pump and system have had to be replaced twice! head lights and turning signals are have to be replaced often as well!.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the head light and instrument panel failed to illuminate intermittently without warning. On a separate occasion, the contact mentioned that the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but the failure was unable to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000. Ss.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the esp and traction control sensor lights would suddenly illuminate before the vehicle would shut off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicated the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The contact also indicated that while operating the vehicle the head lights would suddenly shut off. The light bulbs were replaced but the failure continued to occur. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that a computer module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 78,000. Jft.

On September 15th I was taking my son to school when all of my idiot lights came on and stayed on. Once I got back home and turned the car off I noticed that something was still running. After opening the hood I realized it was my abs system that want shutting off. I was able to disconnect the sensor but have been too fearful to drive it since then. My father ran a code checker and nothing was showing up except the fuel cap (which was replaced but still showing that warning light). He drove the car and noticed that the speedometer wasn't working.

Our regular mechanic has determined that the undercarriage of my car is rusted and rotted to the point where it is unsafe to drive . Car was brought in due to electrical failure as mentioned above . I have never received recall notices . I spoke with a Chrysler rep today and there is nothing we can do because its not with in the recall time frame .

Was driving in the rain and my low beams shut off. The highbeams continued to work as well as my marker lights, and flood lights. I replaced both bulbs and still had no low beams. Everything else works except them. Did research on the internet to learn the 2005 models had a similar issue and there was a recall but the 2006 models are not covered even though it is the same issue.

Driving at <15mph and at >45mph speeds the whole car shuts off. No engine lights no warning just cuts off. Still continuing the issue has been looked at and since no lights are on they cant find it. I haul my 3 granddaughters in this car and the safety worries me about it.

While turning into the bank parking lot at 10mph the car just stalled. I was unable to brake or steer out the way. When gas gauge reads empty I am unable to fill the tank with gas as it begins to spill back out. Gas gauge reads 1/2 full when it is really empty? miles to empty sensor incorrect therefore I have no idea when I need gas. Driver side exterior headlamp seems dimmer than the other lamp. After repairing the entire front end(suspension) still sounds like the front end is going to fall apart when driving on ohio roads. Felt it was necessary to document as I do not feel safe in this car.

I have previously reported a problem with the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica stalling when turning. The problem has progressively worsened. This month alone, (December 2011) the car has stalled 5 times. I am afraid to drive the car for fear that I will crash when it stalls. There are so many Chrysler Pacifica owners that are reporting the same problem. Along with the stalling issue, the gas pedal sticks and needs to be pushed rather hard. A third problem I have encountered this year is the headlamps "burning out". I have replaced the front left headlamp three this year. I am familiar with the handling instructions for headlamps. I am greatly distressed by these problems, especially the stalling. I have children that I drive around in this car. Please do something about Chrysler's failure to fix this problem.

Since I purchased my vehicle the front low beam lights have went out numerous times while driving at night. I have had them replaced on several occasions and the problem persists. Recently I have had problems with my battery and was told by pepboys auto shop that something is draining the battery and its possibility is the exterior lighting/headlamps. Even though I continue to replace the headlamps they keep going out and my battery is being drained. After 2 batteries in 3 years I had the alternator checked and it was in good condition. I was told to look up a recall list where I found exterior lighting 05v066000 and I called. I also have had a fuel pump problem that seems to exist and no one can figure out way. After getting it fixed by the Chrysler dealership twice my vehicle will not pass smog because of another leak. I also found out that there are complaints of some similar issues fuel pump/powertrain control module software 06v432000 and I called. Please put these to issues on the recall list so that auto owners will be safe on the road and California's air will not be polluted by the fumes.

Headlamp 2004 Chrysler Pacifica failure (this was a recall item on 2005 model ) the right side failed in 2004 but was repaired by Chrysler now the left side failed this could increase the risk of a negative driver outcome (crash).
