The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving approximately 65 mph, the front bumper became detached from the vehicle. The contact stopped the vehicle on the shoulder and noticed damage to the front tires. The vehicle was taken to an auto mechanic for repairs after the insurance company inspected the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and covered the bumper repair but did not cover the replacement of the tires. Additionally, the front driver and passenger side power seat adjustment switches would not function. The technician advised the contact that the wiring had to be cleaned. The wiring was cleaned but the failure continued. The bumper damage was repaired but the power seat switch was not. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

We just purchased a 2008 Chrysler Pacifica. The electric driver's seat positioning module, located on the driver's door, failed while I was driving on the highway, moving the seat uncontrollably forward, crushing me against the steering wheel and dash so that it was difficult to steer or to place my foot on the brake. It was snowing heavily and I could not immediately pull off the highway. Had I crashed at that time, the air bag would have injured or killed me, since my chest was trapped tightly against the steering wheel. I would also have been trapped against the steering wheel and could not have exited. After about 30 seconds in the forward position, the seat moved backward, then continued to move backward and forward randomly. It was unresponsive to the switch. At times it would move all the way back and then all the way forward. Eventually I was able to leave the highway at a rest stop and remove the fuse that controlled the seat. The seat was in the rear position at the time, so the car was drivable. Had the seat been unresponsive in the forward position, I could not have gotten out of the car.

Power seats, driver memory, pedal height adjustment all failed simultaneously at about 58,000 miles. My wife is about a foot shorter than me, and cannot, therefore, drive the car anymore. I contacted Chrysler, and they were no help.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 55 mph, the driver seat pushed the contact against the steering wheel. No warning lights were present. He pulled off the road and approximately ten minutes later, he was able to maneuver the seat into its original position. The dealer has not been notified. The current mileage was 28,893 and failure mileage was 24,800. The 6-way powered seat actuated to the full forward position. The consumer was unable to stop the seat by using the switches. Updated 10/11/07.

Driver's seat memory periodically fails. Dash will display "memory disabled - vehicle not in park" on information display. Diagnosed as short in seat switch. Switch replaced. Problem periodically still exists except, on occasion, the seat will now move forward while vehicle is being driven pinning driver to steering wheel.
2004 Chrysler Pacifica with approx. 46,000 miles logged. Electric seats, driver and passenger no longer adjust. Also, driver memory and pedal height adjustment inoperative. As my spouse and I are about 12" different in height, she is no longer able to drive the car. When she attempted to drive it, she was up against the steering wheel and said it was too dangerous.
Have had many instances where the power seats in my 2004 Chrysler paciffica were not able to move. This has happened in instances in which it poses a significant driver safety issue. On one occasion my wife had to drive the vehicle with her body almost pinned against the steering wheel. This seems to be a known problem with many Chrysler Pacifica's, I have brought it to two separate dealers, and they both admit they had many occurrences of this. There are at least two separate technical service bulletins relating to this issue. They refuse too perform any services under a safety alert. It's only a matter of time until there is a fatality related too this problem. This is an extreme safety issue , and should be recalled by the manufacturer.
Drivers seat automatic memory system.
Power seat/memory failed since new. Startedwith lumbar support inoperable. Memory module had 8 failures flag. Dealer reset computers. Since then, power seat/pedal function & memory fails intermittently and frequently, often leaving seat in full back position (making it dangerous for short drivers).
