1 Other Fuel System Tank Filling/charging problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/19/2021

After putting in gas in the car it will die as if it is not getting gas and when filling up I have to pump slow because it acts like it is not taking the gas. Its died on several occasions while driving without any warning. In traffic goinf through a light it shut off as if it had no gas. The car then will not turn on the key turns over but sputters. Once I pump on the gas after 3 or more attempts it come on. We have replaced the fuel pump and autozone code gave p0461 fuel level sensor a as the problem. This is dangerous as the car just shutting off while driving and unable to start in traffic or just shutting down on the highway. The oil light comes on as well. Theres a noise like a ticking sound I can hear by the gas tank when I shut off the car. As soon as I left the gas station today I had it in drive about to turn on the street with traffic coming and it shut off and wouls not turn on for about 10 minutes. I was lucky I did not get hit.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Filling/charging problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/07/2017

When trying to fill my gas tank the pump keeps shutting off. It takes a long time to fill my tank or to know when it is truly full. I asked the dealership about it and they told me there is a problem with the venting and that I need to turn the fuel nozzel 90 degrees when pumping fuel. This works sometimes but I donxt find it acceptable. I shouldn't have problems filling my gas tank.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Filling/charging problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/01/2016

I am having a problem with the fuel gauge. The fuel gauge will read full and when the fuel gauge gets to half a tank the gauge drops to empty. Also while filling the tank the nozzle from the gas pumps will always cut off, it will pump a few dollars and then stop and you have to pump the fuel in very slow. I have changed the fuel pump in the tank three times and the gas tank twice. Nothing works this has been a problem now for about two years. I have been stranded on the road due to the fuel gauge dropping to empty and it is very scary.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Filling/charging problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/03/2015

Much difficulty in filling the fuel tank, the pump handle would continuously shut off, as though the tank was full, we had to repeatedly operate the handle off and on for several minutes. The fuel gauge would never show the tank as full. It would also, during normal operation, reach half empty, then plunge to empty, sometimes illuminating the empty light!! we were told by our Chrysler service manager, on three separate occasions, that our car was repaired, it was not repaired !!!! $1500 on a new fuel tank, and hundreds on rental cars later, our car is still not fixed!!! never again!!!!.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Filling/charging problem of the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/28/2014

When the fuel gauge reached 1/3 full it dropped to empty and the low fuel light came on. We immediately stopped to fill up but the tank only took 11 gallons leaving us to believe the 23 gallon tank was about half full when the low fuel light came on. After reading the claims listed here I am concerned that this is a serious problem. This has happened before but we thought it truly was empty because when the tank is full the gauge reads full. It is the jumping to empty so quickly that is the problem. There does not seem to be a problem filling the tank (yet).

6 Other Fuel System Tank Filling/charging problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/28/2013

Since I have owned the vehicle (2013) there have been problems with getting the car running again. First while in motion the vehicle would tremor (in the front) before shutting down, particularly if going above 25-30 mph. When the car was shut off by key ignition and turned back on it would start again. Codes for oxygen sensor would come up, had that fixed. Problem began again a few months later. Multiple times while driving on the highway/open road the sensors on the panel all lite up and the car shut down. I had the alternator replaced twice for this issue; thinking that was the problem. Prior to the second alternator rebuild/replacement the fuel gauge would fluctuate after reaching half a tank. Most of the time it would read empty when the tank was half full; or empty when the tank is full. I noticed the gauge would drop if a turn was made or the car hit a bump/pot hole in the city street/highway. I attempted to replicate conditions to get the gauge to go back to normal, this did not always work. Occasionally it would wave around while driving. The car began to read code for fuel system issues. Had this tested, fuel system was fine; yet problem consisted. With a half full tank, the car would repeatedly read empty, not allow any additional gas to be put into the tank (would cut off at pump as if tank were full), and shut down while driving in different road conditions as if there were no gas in the car. Right now the gas gauge continues to read empty when there is gas in the tank, I have trouble filling the tank as it cuts off the pump repeatedly not allowing new gas to be put in, the car cuts off often while driving.

7 Other Fuel System Tank Filling/charging problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/15/2009

I own a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. After filling the vehicle with fuel, the car will surge, lunge, and sometimes die. This happens every time the fuel tank is filled. I have had the vehicle in to service it more than 4 times, the latest time the dealer has had it over a week and cannot find the problem. The gas tank has been replaced, all fuel lines cleaned, pistons cleaned, fuel pump replaced, software flashed. All recalls have been performed. This is a major life/safety hazard, as the last time it happened I was turning left against traffic.
