My 2021 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid has a recurring hybrid/electrical defect that causes the accelerator to lose all power while driving, leaving the vehicle unable to accelerate or respond to throttle input. The vehicle remains “on,” but it cannot move under its own power and must be coasted or pulled over immediately. This has happened in traffic, including with children in the vehicle. The dealer confirmed fault code p1a21?00 and documented that the high?voltage system can lose its loop connection, which results in a no?propulsion condition. They also found the hvil high?voltage connector loose and damaged. The vehicle was in the shop for 18 days for this issue. I picked it up on June 18, 2026, and within 24 hours the same loss?of?propulsion failure happened again. The vehicle is now back at the dealer. The dealer performed recall 52d and updated the bpcm software, but the failure still occurred immediately after pickup. This defect has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealership multiple times and remains unresolved. This is a serious safety hazard because the vehicle loses propulsion without warning and cannot accelerate in traffic.

Upon attempting to charge the vehicle with factory supplied level 1 charger, a dashboard message appeared stating "service charging system" and the vehicle would not charge. Took the vehicle to a service station and scanned the vehicle. Listed error code is p0d27-00. The code could not be cleared and the vehicle was unable to be charged. Vehicle had to be taken to a Chrysler dealer for the code to be cleared in order to charging capability to be restored. This was considered a "software" issue and not covered under the vehicles warranty - despite it directly affecting the fuel/hybrid propulsion system. This defect and inability to clear the code means the vehicle cannot be charged, reducing its range and fuel economy, and increasing emissions. This is a critical issue and should not incur customer expense to have the code cleared.

While driving on the highway, the dashboard alerted that the engine would lose power, then the engine cut off and I had to coast the van to the shoulder of the highway. I was able to avoid hitting other cars, but there was no power steering or engine during this time. The vehicle has since been towed to our driveway, but it does not run. There was no warning lamp or messaging more than a few seconds before the engine quit.

1. Most emergency lights come on while the vehicle's brake engages automatically. The brake then pumps up and down on its own if any pressure is applied. Shortly after, the vehicle goes into "limp mode". The vehicle is currently at a Chrysler dealership service department and available for inspection. 2. This has occurred 8 times since the vehicle was purchased in October 2024. All but one time, it has happened while driving. Once it happened while on a major highway. I had to quickly veer into a turn lane so our vehicle was not rearended by another car. Another time, I was driving my children to school and it happened about 10 seconds before crossing the worst intersection in our city. That could have resulted in a major crash based on the history of that intersection. A third time, I was traveling at about 40 miles an hour when warnings came on and the brake started to engage. Luckily, I had just gotten off a major highway and I was able to get to the side of the road. 3. The problem has been confirmed by a dealer, since it happened while I was in their service parking lot. However, they have been unable to recreate, find the source of, or fix the issue after 7 times of servicing it. 4. I am unsure whether the manufacturer has sent anyone outside of the dealer's service department to inspect the vehicle. We have been in contact with the manufacturer directly since December 26, 2025 in relation to this issue. Our extended warranty company may have had an inspector out on the first visit to the dealership for the issue, but no one since that I am aware of. 5. Emergency messages have included: service electronic stability control, service charging system, service hybrid electronic vehicle system, auto emergency braking unavailable service required. Multiple emergency lights come on including: check engine, electronic throttle control, electronic stability control active, service forward collision warning. The first incident was January 22, 2025.
My 2022 Chrysler Pacifica phev has experienced three separate complete losses of motive power at highway speed, each preceded only by a brief dashboard warning to pull over safely. First occurrence: April 18, 2026. Second: may 7, 2026 — vehicle towed to spitzer motor city (cleveland, OH), an authorized stellantis dealer. Dealer replaced the power inverter module hardware under warranty (r. O. 42463cy). Third occurrence: may 17, 2026 — just five days after the repair. Notably, the battery was at 40% on the third occurrence, meaning the engine had not cycled on, distinguishing this failure from the prior two. The root cause is the internal transmission wiring harness connector short identified in NHTSA recall 03a (23v-010). Per NHTSA's own odi investigation (rq24-004), the software recall remedy does not prevent loss of motive power. TSB 21-008-23 / warranty extension xe1 identifies full transmission replacement as the correct fix. The dealer did not perform a transmission replacement. The safety risk is severe — complete, sudden loss of drive power at interstate speeds with minimal warning creates immediate rear-end collision risk. The defect has been confirmed by the authorized dealer. The transmission assembly is available for inspection. No police or insurance involvement. This VIN currently shows zero open recalls, suggesting the incomplete repair was logged as satisfying recall 03a.
We were stopped for fuel. Prior to fueling we turned off the engine and opened the fuel door, inserting the gas nozzle and then began to pump fuel. While the nozzle was running, a passenger opened the sliding door by pressing the auto open button - and the door slid into the hand of the individual holding the fuel nozzle, crushing his hand between the door and the nozzle - causing the nozzle to dislodge from the filling neck , releasing gasoline all over the driver and j hiring his hand. There is no interlock preventing the door from auto opening while the fuel tank is open - which is a critical design flaw, that can result in injury to the individual fueling and hazardous material spills/ hazardous conditions where the pump attendant is directly drenched in fuel. A simple sensor on the door with a software interlock would resolve this issue and prevent future instances. In this case the injury was minor/bruise and discomfort, but it could have been more severe had the driver not reacted quickly, or had the driver had underlying medical conditions such as brittle bones or was on blood thinners.
The manufacturer's mandatory 73b safety recall update (vehicle fires) creates a critical software-induced communication failure on the central vehicle network. Following the 73b flash, the vehicle developed an active sgw u0001-00 can c bus network fault, which permanently blocks data transmission and triggers an hcp u0412 hybrid battery fault. This network crash disables the hybrid propulsion systems, creating an unpredictable and hazardous driving condition. The manufacturer (stellantis) and its authorized dealer (seattle Jeep) are refusing to remedy this safety recall side effect under the vehicle's hybrid powertrain warranty, instead forcing consumers to pay out-of-pocket diagnostic fees ($284. 67) and multi-module software update fees ($812. 50) to correct a defect injected by the recall software itself. This directly compromises vehicle safety and violates federal recall remedy mandates.

My 2017 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid entered limp mode and was taken to central florida Chrysler Dodge on xxx. The service advisor, [xxx], identified three recalls, which needed to be completed, after claiming they had completed them, the issue persisted. I authorized a coolant flush without being informed it involved the battery cooling system. Further diagnostics revealed a failed hybrid battery. However, Chrysler denied the battery replacement claim, citing contamination from “incorrect” coolant. I dispute this reasoning, as I was not properly informed about the coolant issue and believe there is no proof that it caused the battery failure. Under the magnuson-moss warranty act, a warranty or recall claim cannot be denied without clear evidence linking the fluid to the failure. I have opened a case with Chrysler (case #xxx) and am requesting that the battery replacement be honored under the recall, especially since recall guidelines indicate that unresolved issues after software updates may require component replacement. After a days of back and forth, not the dealership claims the pim is not the original part of the vehicle and for that reason it would be covered under warranty. However the law is clear and Chrysler is obligated to replace it since this part is also part of the recall they claimed was completed. Now the dealer wants us$ 5k to replace the pim. I need NHTSA to intervene please. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Chrysler performed the 73b recall and n my van in August of 2025. Ever since performing this recall the van has a continuous stream of check engine lights and error codes. The van has been at the dealership at least 6 times for well over 100 days. The check engine lights and error codes always return. The hybrid battery recently had a failure code, and was replaced. I didn't even make it home before I got a check engine light and error codes. The dealership cleared the check engine light and sent me on my way. The codes returned and the van is back at the dealership. The codes I have been getting are : service hybrid system, parking brake temporarily unavailable, service electronic throttle control, service shifter( I was not able to drive as it wouldn't go into gear), service electronic stability control, blind spot alert, and service airbag system. On the longest service visit (over 80 days), Chrysler ended up just telling the dealership to erase the stored codes and return the van to me. They test drive it 50 miles. The error codes returned. They currently have the van again for the same reason.
I was slowing down to turn left and felt a stutter, like when antilock brakes activate. Then a red triangle appeared on the display on the dash that said something like "pull over safely vehicle will turn off soon. " I came to a stop to wait for oncoming traffic. When I hit the gas again it had barely any power and the power steering had disengaged. I was able to get through the left turn at about 3-5 mph. Shortly after I was out of the intersection (maybe 100 feet) the accelerator stopped giving any power. The vehicle was still able to turn on and I could use things like power windows, radio, and gear shifter (to go into neutral to push it to a better place to wait for a tow) but no thrust since. The mechanic said it seemed to be a problem with the hybrid battery and we towed it to the dealership since that was still under warranty. The dealership says it's the transmission and is in the process of figuring out which version of repairing it works for the warranty coverage.
When driving on highway, electrical system started beeping and showing various signals, could no longer keep speed or accelerate. Had to put on warning lights and coast to side of road with four small kids in car. Was able to pull off to side and slowly get to safe location by resting vehicle in between events. When fully charged, didn’t seem to have issue so was able to drive to dealer. Thought was related to engine switching from electric to gas power. Dealer checked and performed two software updates. On way home from dealer, same problem occurred on highway. Super dangerous to loose all acceleration or same speed on highway! I got a video of second event as I was a passenger and my husband was driving. But as can see in video the car has a charge so the incident is not related to the switch from electric to gas power. Now we are very concerned whether Chrysler has the means to fix this at all and or whether the dealership will be actually able to identify the issue given the car was literally being driven home from the dealer. Attaching photos but have a full video. First time happened on April 4, 2026. Second on April 16, 2026.

I was traveling on the freeway at approximately 65 miles per hour. I slowed to approximately 50 miles per hour to pass a disabled vehicle and began accelerating again when the dash displayed a message that said "stop safely- vehicle will shut off soon" the check engine light, a red turtle light also lit up. I had to make a quick maneuver to the far right lane putting myself and other vehicles at risk to avoid the car shutting down in the middle of the freeway. I wanted to get closer to an exit so I continued driving slowly on the shoulder. The wouldn’t accelerate, so whatever speed I let it get down to was the fastest it would go. At the exit I was concerned I wouldn’t have enough power to make it up the hill so I shut off the car. I let it sit for a couple of minutes and then turned it back on. It turned on with the check engine light still on . I then drove it straight to the dealership using surface streets and keeping my speed around 40-45 miles per hour. This was the second time this vehicle has experience this kind of loss of power. The first time happened in July 2024 and resulted in a full transmission replacement. This incident constitutes a dangerous loss of motive power at highway speeds. The failure mode appears identical to the issues described in NHTSA safety recall 23v-010 (Chrysler recall 03a), yet this vehicle has already had a full transmission replacement for this exact issue in the past.
I purchased this car new on December 31, 2024. I have owned it for less than 16 months, and in that time, we have had an issue occur at least 5 times where we get an alert on the screen that says, "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon". Less than 20 seconds later, the car completely dies. On each of the 5 instances, we were lucky to be going relatively slow and were in a safe place with a shoulder to pull over on. The vehicle was able to be turned back on within a few minutes. The check engine light came on momentarily, but would shut off before we were able to get the codes read. We brought this to the attention of herb chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram fiat of danvers (not where we bought the car, but the closest Chrysler dealership for maintenance) and they were unable to provide any help. They said they have never seen this, and since they couldn't get any codes, they didn't know what was going on. My research informs me that this is a known issue, so I'm disappointed that they didn't know about this. I am also terrified to drive my young children in this car, in fear that this will happen again when we aren't able to safety stop. I will provide details for the most recent time that this occurred, but I haven't previously reported the other occurrences.
2024 Pacifica van with 66,000 miles started to run rough then quit in a mcdonalds parking lot in richmond va 70 miles from our home residence. I had the car towed to a local Chrysler dealership on Saturday night before easter. The tow truck drive was kind enough to take myself, spouse, daughter and golden retriever to the richmond airport where we rented a car and drove home to leonardtown, MD. The Chrysler dealership troubleshoot the vehicle and ordered a fuel pump.

I experienced a check engine light and intermittent starting issues with my vehicle (Chrysler Pacifica hybrid 2017). [xxx] at times, the vehicle would not start, but after some time it could start again. After researching the issue online, I found that there are active safety recalls for this vehicle related to the hybrid system (including battery and inverter/pim). I immediately contacted the dealer: [xxx] an appointment was scheduled for April 1, 2026 at 4:00 pm. I dropped off the vehicle at approximately 3:50 pm and handed over the keys. Prior to visiting the dealer, I purchased a diagnostic subscription tool to better understand the issue, as many owners report dealers misdiagnosing these problems. The diagnostic results indicated issues related to the pim (power inverter module), including required updates and possible internal diode failure. This matches the symptoms I experienced, where the vehicle would intermittently fail to start. I have attached photos showing error messages related to pim update and hybrid system faults. On the next day, the dealer informed me that they would only perform a diagnostic for $180 instead of processing the issue under recall. I believe this is incorrect, as the symptoms match known recall conditions (loss of power / hybrid system failure), and recall-related diagnostics should not be charged to the customer. The dealer is refusing to proceed under recall and is attempting to charge for diagnosis. This is a safety issue and should be handled under recall. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
While traveling 350 miles from my home with my family of five, the vehicle experienced a sudden 'loss of motive power' event. The dashboard displayed the message: 'stop safely - vehicle will shut off soon. ' I lost the ability to accelerate and had to navigate to the shoulder in high-speed traffic. The vehicle is currently inoperable and the 12v battery has since died because the power inverter module (pim) has stopped maintaining system voltage. This vehicle had recall 03a (NHTSA 23v-010) performed on July 7, 2023, and the more recent recall y40 update performed on March 11, 2026. Despite having the 'latest software remedy' installed less than 30 days ago, the vehicle suffered the exact safety failure the recalls were meant to address. This proves that the software-only remedy is insufficient to prevent the hardware failure (internal transmission wiring short). A formal vehicle scan report performed at lake norman Chrysler (dealer 60945) on 3/30/26 explicitly shows 'distance travelled with light 146 miles' (page 14), documenting a sustained failure of the motive power system. Furthermore, the dealer’s own certified technician (j. Olmstead) provided a written action plan (page 9) recommending a full transmission and power inverter module (pim) replacement. Despite the documented 146-mile failure history and the technician's recommendation for hardware replacement under the xe1 warranty extension, the dealership service management is refusing to perform the repair, claiming they cannot 'replicate' the code as an active fault. I am currently stranded out-of-state with an unsafe vehicle that Chrysler is refusing to repair under the established safety warranty.
I encountered two incidents of the same type. One was on Friday, March 27, 2026, the same day I picked up the vehicle from a local Chrysler dealership, where software updates and issues related to recalls were supposedly completed. The vehicle was at 38% battery level at the time of pick up from the dealership parking lot. After driving it for about 14 miles, the battery level depleted to <1% and that's when the "stop safety. Vehicle will shut off soon" displayed on the dashboard. I slowly drove for less than a minute and parked the vehicle and turned it off. Then restarted and drove for less than two minutes, but again the same warning ("stop safety. Vehicle will shut off soon") displayed; I turned it off again. After taking a few minutes break, I restarted it and it was showing 1% battery; it gave me a little distance to travel until unfortunately the same warning displays. Fortunately, this time I was close to a place where I can charge the battery. The battery got charged to 100%, partly on the night of March 27th and the remaining in the morning on March 28th. The second incident was on March 29, 2026, on Sunday afternoon. As soon as the battery level reached <1%, the exact the same warning ("stop safety. Vehicle will shut off soon") was displayed. I slowly drove the vehicle to the side of the road and called my insurance company; I reported the issue and requested them to tow the vehicle to a nearby Chrysler dealership. As of now, the vehicle is at the dealership parking waiting for diagnosis. Based on my initial conversation with the customer service person, they don't know if this is considered part of any recall or not. Not only was I stranded on the road because of the above incidents, not having the vehicle at the moment is straining me a lot - trying to handle personal and work schedules.
Auto stall at stop is not working safely on my vehicle there are two issues that can cause safety problems . A) when system restarts engine the vehicle has jumped forward several feet quickly causing very nearly hitting the car in front of me as a traffic light turned green . B) when I slow not quite to a stop making a left turn I have experience very low or no power and could be hit if a car is coming towards me . Both these issues do stop if I remember to turn off the auto stall system but I do not always remember ! I did make a compliant at a Chrysler dealer they found no issues and did not reproduce the problem no warning lights come up when the problem happens . I have not had damage to the vehicle but have had two close calls one nearly rearending a vehicle at a intersection as my pacicifca lurched forward and the other as an oncoming car needed to brake when I made a left turn in an intersection and had a loss of power .

My 2017 Chrysler Pacifica experienced repeated engine timing and oil system failures. The vehicle first developed a check engine light and engine timing code (p000d – camshaft position slow response). The vehicle was inspected by a dealership service department. Shortly after, a major engine oil leak was discovered from the oil cooler / oil filter adapter assembly. The vehicle required repair of the oil cooler assembly and associated seals. After that repair, the vehicle continued to experience engine timing issues. The dealership later confirmed failure of the cam phaser components associated with the engine timing system and performed a repair. Within days of the repair, the check engine light and engine timing code returned again. The failure involves the engine valve timing system and oil pressure dependent components based on autozone code check. Improper camshaft timing can affect engine operation, cause loss of power, rough running, or possible engine stall while driving, which creates a safety risk in traffic. The issue has been inspected and confirmed by a dealership service department. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
While driving at normal road speed, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and entered limp mode. A turtle warning icon appeared along with multiple system fault messages. The vehicle began slowing down on it's own and was unable to accelerate. I pulled to the side of the road. The vehicle displayed an error "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon". After sitting for a period of time, the vehicle restarted and was able to be driven again, but the failure occurred without warning and created a dangerous situation in traffic. Diagnostic trouble codes were present related to the hybrid system and high-voltage battery, including p1d43, p1a21, u029a, and u0412. These codes indicate faults in the hybrid control system and battery communication. A Chrysler service department inspected the vehicle, confirmed the trouble codes, and returned it to me without repair because the issue was not immediately reproducible at the dealership. The vehicle has a history of similar intermittent issues, including prior loss-of-power events and repeated service visits for hybrid system faults. The condition is not consistently reproducible, but when it occurs it results in a sudden loss of motive power while driving. This creates a significant safety risk due to unexpected loss of propulsion in active traffic.
As I was leaving the gas station the check engine light flashed on and off then the car was like turning on and off fast and a loud clunk sound and the fuel pump module exploded gas sprayed all over the gas station. Huge fire hazard and the car began to smoke vehicle experienced a sudden catastrophic fuel system failure involving fire risk and loss of propulsion. The incident occurred without warning and created a serious safety hazard to occupants and surrounding traffic. This vehicle is a Chrysler Pacifica hybrid. Similar failures involving fuel system and hybrid control logic have been widely reported. The manufacturer was contacted but declined to properly document the safety incident. This failure is not consistent with normal wear and tear and represents a potential safety defect. Key details to include when submitting online: - sudden loss of propulsion - fire risk / fuel involvement - hybrid system interaction - manufacturer declined to document incident.
Vehicle went into limp mode twice. 1st time on 10/28/24, technician found fault for hybrid battery pack, Chrysler technical service bulletin said to clear fault then drive, if fault did not come back release the vehicle work order stated, bring vehicle back if it happens again and replace hybrid battery. 2nd time, 2/06/2026 vehicle went into limp mode again while driving. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk as I was driving on a highway at 65 mph and suddenly without warning and no braking involved went down to 20 mph. A very unsafe maneuver as the following vehicles had no indication I was braking or slowing down. The dealer has confirmed the limp mode incident but so far has been unable reproduce it. The vehicle and components have only been inspected by the dealer. The warning lamps and messages only came on as the event unfolded. A sudden and uncontrollable loss of power. The dealer states that they believe the hybrid battery pack is failing, but Chrysler, stellantis will not replace the hybrid battery pack unless the dealer can reproduce the incident. Extremely dangerous thing to try and recreate.
In at least 3 different drivers experienced the engine shutting off while driving at low speeds. It happened either while stopped at the traffic light, or shortly after being stopped at the traffic. The engine stalled and the message on the dash said to stop the vehicle, turn it off, then turn it back on. Fortunately, we were able to coast to a stop and follow the procedures. We replaced the fuel module and fuel pump, which did not help. I did some research last night and found an article from cbs news dated 01/12/2018 for this issue that recalled some of the Pacifica minivans starting with the 2017 model. Our van is a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. I suspect it was built after the recall, but the software was not fixed when built. I want this fixed under the recall umbrella so I don't get charged for something Chrysler already new was a safety problem.
We bought this vehicle from a local dealer in March (9months ago) in the time we’ve had it… it’s been in the shop for about 6 of them. 1- about 3 weeks after the purchase it shut off while I was driving on the highway. We then took it to the dealership in jasper, GA bc the error code said the pcm needed to be reset. They couldn’t get it to reset so they embarked on a diagnostic that took 3 months to discover the fuel pump was “too small”. The dealership repair guy assured us this was a solve to the issue, they’re tech put 200 miles on it an had no issues. 2- the day we got it back the check engine light came on and while going around a curve to the right, the wheel locked up on me and almost drove me into a mailbox. We turned around and went right back to the dealership. They had it for another couple weeks and told us we needed a new rack and pinion. We couldn’t afford the $6000 they wanted to fix that. So we then called the guy we bought it from and he had a local repair shop take a look and they replaced some parts on the rack and said it was good to go. 3- got it back and the check engine came on again, they code said pcm needed to be reset. We couldn’t get the dealership to call us back so we went to the local shop o’reileys recommended and they deducted some gauges needed to be replaced. 4- within a couple weeks the van was sputtering and cutting off again, we took it back to the local shop and the only thing they could think to do was change the auxiliary battery. 5- we’ve had it for about 2 weeks… 2 days again I went to start it up and it cut off. I had to wait a few minutes to try again and it started. Then yesterday while driving we stopped a red light and something popped and the dash lit up with errors and a grinding noise started. We went to accelerate to turn and started rolling backwards while in drive. We slammed on the brakes, turned the cautions on and put it in park and still rolled backwards. We had to get a tow back to the local shop.
Reversing onto roadway and shifted from reverse to drive via rotary dial and vehicle went into park and would not move causing me to block the roadway. In addition and even more concerning was that the vehicle could not be turned off and any and all actions to do so just left the car "on" and the hybrid system running. Eventually we pulled the battery cable on the main 12v in the trunk and the reset allowed us to move the vehicle again. I sat across a busy section for twenty minutes with no way to move, turn off, or overide the system with three kids with me in a busy traffic area. The vehicle has not reproduced the issue as of yet. The dash had multiple warnings for park system and service various items needed. This occurred 12/17/2025 with 70,000 miles.
While driving 75mph, the vehicle shut down with a message to pull over. All acceleration was lost. We had to navigate, without warning, across 3 lanes of traffic to pull over on the right side of the highway. This was extremely unsafe as we were slowing down and essentially cutting off other vehicles who were honking at us as this was a traffic hazard. All 6 members of my family were in the vehicle. We had this happen another 3 times before arriving home. I took it to my local dealer, who could not replicate it. They performed a software update, which I have since learned would never fix this problem. We had it happen to us 5 more times, so I took it to another dealership, who initially could not replicate it. In all cases, we had the following check engine light codes be triggered. I have screen shots of them from my personal obdii reader: p0a43 "drive motor 'a' position sensor circuit intermittent", c2225 "status: mil - pcm disabled edu: no sub type information". After doing my own reading, it seemed many others have experienced the exact same symptoms and it has required a transmission repair/replace. I also learned most people had a battery charge on the high voltage battery (as this is a plug-in hybrid) when the vehicle shuts down. I charged my van, took it for a ride at 75mph and it occurred within the first mile. I took it back to the dealership, and at this point, I refuse to drive it until the hardware fix happens. It seems like this should be a recall for all vehicles that can have this problem. It is extremely unsafe as it occurs at 70mph+ speeds.
Fuel line leak near engine. It sounds very similiar to the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica recall. The vehicle reaked of gasoline fumes coming in through the vents. Our mechanic replaced the fuel line, said it had a hole. We felt very unsafe even starting the car when it reaked of gas due to risk of fire. No warnings lights or anything, just the smell to tip us off. No one else has inspected the car since we didn't have anything catastrophic happen.
The rear brake at 4mm at 32k miles at the time of oil change at dealer and front brake still have 7mm, as a mechanical engineer, I know this should not happen. Also while driving, there is high freq metal sound, I have notified the dealer every time I went to oil change, they confirmed it is fine but I do not feel safe. 2nd issue is the powertrain system feels no power while climbing hills and the car almost stops and sliding back even I put on gas pedal and almost hit the car behind me one time. 3rd issue is that gas door seal is broken within first year of use, it could cause gas leaking.
High pressure fuel leak with large fan spray pattern in fuel line part number 68492134aa where it sits and rubs against a sharp corner of another component, (appears to be ignition coil) above the rear passenger side of the engine. . Read more...
I was driving and the van suddenly lost all propulsion. Brakes and steering and dash lights functioned, but there was a red turtle icon and error message about a system failure. The accelerator pedal did nothing at all. I was able to coast off the side of the road to a place to pull over, but that could have been a terrible accident if I lost power like that on I-95 or any other major highway. My husband came and we switch cars (kids, car seats, etc) and he was able to get the van to start after half an hour. It had check engine lights on for things, but the dealer said to bring it in because it was drivable again. Despite brining it in as told, with check engine lights on that they saw, they said they could not reproduce it and couldn't find codes for the check engine light (even though I pulled them from my own obd2 diagnostic plug tool and took photos of the codes) and eventually said I have to take the car back, despite no cause or resolution. These cars have known faulty battery issues and a large number have been replaced already, but Chrysler isn't authorizing dealers to do that unless they can reliably reproduce the failure. Very frustrating to see Chrysler not go the route of other manufacturers who sourced their batteries from the same plant and ended up proactively replacing them for consumers. While Chrysler's many recalls for the hybrid battery system software have probably made it detect faults earlier to try to prevent fires, they are still known to happen, but now in addition to a fire risk, we also have a car that has a much higher chance of just losing power while driving due to over sensitive battery monitoring, or a plain old faulty battery that just isn't faulty 'enough' for Chrysler to authorize a replacement. So frustrating and dangerous.
Vehicle lost all internal communications while driving. During this incident propulsion was lost, turn signals, hazards, power brakes, power steering, all electronics except speedometer failed. I was unable to put indicators on during this incident outting others at risk. It appears hazards and turn signals are can communication which is absolutely insane and a severe design flaw.
This is a complaint regarding an inadequate recall remedy for recall z75 (NHTSA 24v-538). The manufacturer's software update rendered my 2017 Pacifica hybrid inoperable due to dtc p0c77. While the battery was ultimately replaced under warranty, the manufacturer is refusing to reimburse $1,948. 74 in rental expenses despite a prior verbal commitment to do so. This constitutes a failure to provide a 'free and effective remedy' as required by federal law for safety recalls.
We have a continuing issue with the Pacifica of showing a dashboard warning of "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon''. The power becomes diminished and with a few minutes, all power is lost, including lights, engine, all dash warnings are gone. After sitting on the side of the road for a few minutes, the vehicle will restart like nothing happened. Occurrences shown in order by date, location and mileage. Aug 8, 2024 in gatlinburg, TN with approx 1800 miles. Dealer found error codes relating to hybrid system but could not repair for at least 4 weeks. Advised to continue trip and make an appointment when we return to georgia. Aug 10 on interstate 20 enroute to myrtle beach the issue reoccurred. Aug 16, in for repairs at Chrysler 3206 miles. April 18, back to dealer same issue at 14,145 miles. Extensive repairs performed on hybrid system. April 24 with 14,303, same issue. Received vehicle back on June 20, 2025. July 19, another occurrence with 15,645. This time the vehicle would not shut down by the fob but would not function at all, though the dash stated put vehicle in park, but it was in park. . Ackerman towing of macon, GA attempted to tow vehicle, but the parking brake would not release nor would the transmission shift into neutral. After 3 hours, vehicle finally shut down and restarted. Back to Chrysler. Received vehicle back Aug 13. They could not find a problem. Sept 19 enroute to va beach. Same issue at 17,750 miles on i95 outside of lumberton, nc. Restarted after a few minutes. Continued trip. I feel this problem of shutting down is a death trap. Losing all power including outside lights could easily become catastrophic, especially if it happened after dark. Chrysler is aware and seems to be unable to find a remedy. I have more info, but out of characters to relay more. Info below relates to last occurence.
After safety recall 73b was performed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid on 08/25/2025, the vehicle's check engine light illuminated on 09/09/2025. I was inundated with multiple failure lights including; check engine, service electronic throttle control, service hybrid electric vehicle system, blind spot alert, and I felt like I lost power steering. I was unsure if the van was safe to drive, but was able to get it to the dealership. They were able to pull multiple codes. Including the one for the check engine light. They decided that the problem was related to the abs control module. They replaced it and the van has been fine so far. It seems these error codes are widespread after performing recall 73b. Many other customers are complaining of the same thing. I believe these errors are from the testing to the high voltage battery, and their 'software fix'. It's not safe to lose your power steering while driving. It's not safe to have multiple error codes continuously going off while operating the car. It's not safe to have a family car that we have been told twice to not park in the garage, charge, or park near a structure. This is their second attempt at 73b, and overall the second fire recall. My van and high voltage battery are definitely available for inspection.
My vehicle went in for recall 73b at the end of August 2025. Every since the recall it has been back to the dealer for multiple check engine lights, service hybrid system, abs system, battery heater fail, blind spot warning temporary unavailable, service shifter(would not go into gear), parking brake, stability control light, partial loss of power steering while driving, service electronic throttle control, and service airbag messages. The van has been to the dealership 4 times for these messages. They have replaced components, tried to find loose wires and connectors, replaced the 12v battery, and other fixes. The van will drive normally for a few weeks, and then they come back. On the latest visit (4th since 73b recall) it's been at the dealership for 31 days and counting. The dealership is waiting on Chrysler to figure out a fix for the van. The vehicle has over 50 stored messages. This recall was supposed to monitor the hybrid battery for early indications for a fire, but according to the original recall all batteries are assumed to have the manufacturing defect that leads to spontaneous fires. This van is unsafe, and we never know when it will work correctly. The van operated normally before the recall software was installed.
