Warnings Problems of Chrysler Pacifica

Car shows no warnings when vehicle in front slows very quickly. All selections to enable this function have been made. It is available for inspection provided it is local to central florida. In my previous vehicle, a 2021 Jeep grand cherokee, I relied on and received forward collision warnings which prevented my crashing into another car no less than 4 times. Though this car has been adas scanned (3 times) with appropriate scanners, no codes are detected. It has been “calibrated” by a body shop recommended by the dealer where I was assured it was “working. ” it is not. I’ve taken it to an icar certified adas cal facility and was told it all checks out, there’s nothing they can do for me. Meanwhile, I do not have forward collision warnings. As I have to have wheelchair accessibility, I’m stuck with this vehicle.

• July 19 (pm): while driving, the vehicle displayed: ? service hybrid electric system (red wrench) ? check engine light • July 20 (am): all warning lights had cleared. • July 20 (pm): while driving, the following warnings appeared simultaneously: ? service hybrid electric system (red wrench) ? check engine light ? service electronic stability control ? parking brake temporarily unavailable ? fcw unavailable – service required ? lanesense unavailable – service required I needed to find an alternate parking spot since the parking brake was not working. • July all warnings cleared except the check engine light, which has remained illuminated continuously since then. • July upon starting the vehicle, the following warnings returned: ? fcw unavailable – service required ? service hybrid electric vehicle system ? parking brake temporarily unavailable ? service electronic stability control ? service shifter ? check engine light again needed to find an alternate parking spot with parking brake not working. Once again, these warnings disappeared after the next restart, with only the check engine light remaining. Took car to dealership for service. Expected issues had to do with recall work that was completed earlier in the month. They said it was not and that the it was due to loss of can c bus communcation because the star connector failed.

For a few weeks prior our windshield wipers would start and were unable to be switched off. Then would just randomly stop. Then we got completely stopped on a major road during rush-hour with my whole family in the car. The car moved itself to park at a stop light. When we were stopped, everything in the car was going haywire. Fcw unavail, abs unavail, check engine light, wipers going, couldn't use turn signals or hazard lights. I turned the car on/off multiple times to get it to work. We were stuck in the middle of a busy road above a highway with cars exiting during rush hour. Cars moving fast around me with my whole family in the car. Could have caused major accident. Chrysler dealer could not help right away. Took to own mechanic. Recreated issue, replaced aux battery (which should not have all safety features tied to it), and re-flashed 3 modules that were ruined from this. Thought this was fixed but next time out, same things started happening, but now says to service airbags as well. I will not have my family in the car with an airbag malfunction. Now saying 2-4 thousand to fix, more modules fried and only the beginning. Car has only been inspected by dealer to pull codes, then mechanic. Like I said the windshield wipers were going and couldn't be controlled but no other warning lights. This did not indicate a battery failure and every safety feature to be turned off. This is not designed/wired correctly and I need Chrysler to take action on this situation. My whole family could have been seriously injured and any other Chrysler with this design needs to be fixed or taken off the road.

Vehicle was put into reverse and did not stop, it hit a pole. Then the driver tried to put in drive to get it off of the pole and it accelerated quickly and the driver could not stop the vehicle. There was little time to react as it hit the side of a building and airbags deployed. Driver stated that the car accelerated on it's own once it was put into gear.

Shifter service keeps coming on. Won’t move out of park. Warning lights come on for service engine, fwc, have been brought to dealer 2 times already. They say multiple vans have been brought in for same issue and don’t know how to fix. They are saying they got it and next morning same issue. Photos attached. Plus a bill for $1500 and still not fixed.

My vehicle has no back up camera or blind spot warning. Took to dealer for recall and they said they were only responsible for a software update and not solving the recall problem. My vehicle still does not have either of these functions. I was told I would have to pay for the repairs for this recall.

In the dash bord power steering not aveleble warning also stop start not responding then servic charging. . . . . . . Not safe to drive this car at all. I had to go the dealership more than four times a year recently spending a lots of time and money. Again engen lights come up.

I was backing out of the driveway. I had all the safety features on, and I was checking my surroundings. Typically, the blind spot and front sensors would alert me to dangers. However, on this and many other occasions the warnings didn't alert me to danger on my passenger side that I couldn't see. This resulted in damage to the front quarter panel of my van as well as damage to the bumper. The body shop said it would cost at least $5000 to repair the damage. I can't afford that; in turn I am driving around with the damage.

Intermittently my van will lose power, all dash lights will pop up, active parksense unavailable, service required , blind spot alert temporarily unavailable , service shifter, fcw unavailable service required, service electronic stability control will pop up on the dash and in the message center. Code p0420 has popped up on a reader. Several trips to the dealership purchased at, and they cannot figure out the issues. I have 2 kids, this is a major safety concern. I had it shutdown on a highway 3 weeks ago with my 9 month old in the van. Recall list says everything was repaired, but it seems there needs to be more recalls. These vans are not safe. Recall them all. Chrysler is going to end up with a lawsuit. I think this is a major defect on the electrical and computer systems. When driving the van it will show I'm doing 70 but really 35mph. The van will rough idle. Again these are all intermittent issues that happen all at once. It seems like the van will reset itself once it's sat overnight. We just bought the van in may 2024 and this started a few weeks later. Very frustrating. The dealership won't buy it back, they can't figure out what the issue is. I.

The forward collision alarm was triggered when there was no collision. Additionally the abs system and cruise control went offline. This occurred numerous times during winter while at a full stop as well as when driving between 45-55mph. Once triggered the collision alarm remained on for hours to days at a time. During that time cruise control was not able to be used and abs was offline. Additionally the assisted parking was not available. Abs and stability control is important for safe driving and braking in icy/slippery situations putting both my own, my passengers, and other drivers at risk. The vehicle was inspected 4 times by the bath NY Chrysler dealership. A sensor was replaced the first time but this did not correct the issue. The 2nd time another component was replaced, but the technician stated the issue was still present and I would need to bring it back in for further testing. The 3rd and 4th time the dealership was not able to recreate the issue and did not perform any repairs. The issue has recurred, but the dealership was not able to get the car in at that time. This vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance etc. There was no prior warning to the issue. When it occurs the warning lamps that come on are: brake, front collision, front collision off, abs, seatbelt, and the traction control. I have a photo of the dash from one of these incidents.

Occasionally when we start the van the shifter lights don’t go on and while the he engine starts, the shifter won’t move so we are stuck. It can be a few minutes up to 30 minutes we tried to replace the batteries and the shifter. It was fine for a few weeks after but continues to be intermittent after that few weeks. Also sometimes only some of the shifter lights go one and several alarms go off on the consel including fcw unavailable and service shifter. I am concerned one day we will be stranded.

On empty roads at low speeds, vehicle flashed emergency braking signs and stopped abruptly. Happened multiple times in January both in reverse and when driving forward normally. Safety of driver and passengers was impacted by the sensor issues and abrupt braking. If there were other cars behind the vehicle, it could cause accidents and injury. Vehicle was brought into dealership and could not identify or address the issue. Suggestion provided was to disable the sensors while driving.

My vehicle was performing great - no issues what so ever until fca performed recall 03a. After I had fca us llc recall 03a for loss of motive power installed; my vehicle had several issues the same day I picked it up from the dealer. They stated it was ready for pickup even with all my issues and they new I had ½ of them and still turned it over to me. . 50 % of the issues are still waiting to be repaired. The major issue remaining is the high voltage battery. After 1 year of them trying to get the vehicle back to the condition I turned it in before for the recall - Chrysler refuses to replace the hv battery under the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. They will not let anyone order the part even the dealer can not. To order the bad part Chrysler star (fcas part replacement approval authority) has to approve it. They say they won't replace it due to normal degradation. I was getting 30 miles per full charge and after the recall I was only getting18-20 miles per full charge. That is not normal degradation. Now I only get 17-18 miles per charge. They degraded my battery with their recall. The battery degraded by 33% in 2 weeks – that is not normal their recall caused it. I feel someone needs to enforce them to put my vehicle back the the same as I turned it over to them September 26, 2023 at their expense no matter what it takes. The following is the list of issues in the past year because of recall 03a. Basically my vehicle was in the shop for repairs almost the entire year! 1. Engine lite is on all the time since recall. 2. Charging system errors. 3. Gear selector does not work intermittently making undrivable. 4. Side doors and lift gate do not open or close automatically. 5. Radio display keeps flashing intermittently 6. Back up camera flash on and off. 7. Every lite on the dash lights up - giving my vehicle multiple canbus errors shorting out every computer system in the vehicle 20+ computers.

When driving car gives the warning that fcw is not working and other error messages on the screen. When you apply the break, it automatically started breaking having sudden stops which is dangerous to drive on roads. For some reason those check engine lights will go away after some time and everything seems to be normal. Towed to dealer and reported to Chrysler multiple times and they are not taking car of this ones as they cant replicate the issue.

Traveling down a country road on a clear afternoon, the vehicle traveled approximately 35 mph while cresting a small hill. On the other side of the hill was a "t" shaped intersection where another vehicle stopped in the intersection from a stop sign several feet behind. The other driver failed to complete the turn when they saw oncoming traffic. The driver noticed the intersection had an obstructed path and attempted to move into the oncoming traffic lane since no oncoming traffic was visible. Just then, the onboard computer installed in the control panel of the drivers seat had acted upon either the obstruction or the switch in lanes and assumed complete control of the braking and steering systems. The driver was unable to retrieve control from the computer systems artificial intelligence before a direct crash occured with a telephone pole. Rendering the vehicle dangerous as live wires draped the saturated earth below the tires and feet of passengers exiting the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted, but no follow up has been made. Neither the police or insurance representatives have been helpful or any investigation made into this account. There were several lights, sensors, noises, and messages that were flashing and beeping but none were able to be understood before the sudden impact.

While driving approximately 35mph and without any warning, the vehicle suddenly slammed on the brakes and came to a stop in the middle of the road. If another vehicle had been following behind there could have been a collision. The forward collision alert might have gone off; afterwards most of the warning lights were on. We were able to slowly power through the brakes to a nearby parking lot. We could not turn off the car or put the transmission in park or neutral, it was completely immobilized. All of the transmission lights were on and could not be changed by turning the dial. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and has been waiting for diagnosis for over 3 weeks.

Coming to a stop in traffic at an intersection, at around 10 mph, decelerating at around 0. 1g, I did not get additional decel from the vehicle even with pushing the brake pedal to the floor. While coming to a stop I glanced in my rearview mirror and the vehicle in front of me abruptly came to a stop. During the reaction time delay from looking forward, recognizing the vehicle slowed and stepping on the brake harder, I received a fcw alert. I was already on brake pedal and after my reaction time elapsed I pushed hard on the brake pedal which sunk to the floor and gave no additional deceleration from the vehicle. This continued until the cib/aeb built pressure and stopped the vehicle, which was about 0. 25-0. 5s later. I didn't hit the vehicle in front of me but the very disturbing part was that the vehicle was not responding or decelerating with driver request.

Fcw is not working after new radio was put in took it to two dealers they both said that there are no error codes the fcw is turned on but no warnings or braking the rear system works fine I used three large boxes to test both front and rear.

I have Pacifica hybrid 2017 model minivan with a lot of problems. More than 6 times the minivan was not starting and if starting it would have all the check engine (so I needed to leave the minivan with 2 small kids and take a car service ) some of the signs that would all of a sudden start are service hybrid vehicle system , service electric throttle control park sense unavailable ,automatic high beam disabled ,press break to prevent rolling ,blind spot alert temporarily unavailable in the middle of the road while I am driving . I towed the car to Chrysler and they won't pay for it as it was a hybrid problem, and it was under warranty. The dealer agreed that it was a hybrid problem under warranty, and they would fix it as it was a problem from the manufacturer. In a week the dealer said it was fixed. After I was taking the van home and while I was on the road all the signs came up on the control panel. It has all sorts of warning on the panel as mentioned above. I realized the car had the same issue. It won't let me change the gears and stopped completely when I came home. Then I called the dealer and complained, and they said to bring it back however they won't help me with the towing service. Again aftre 1-2 days the car started so I took to the dealer they said they have found the problem they don't know so Chrysler tech team is working on it. Then after 2 weeks they said they have fixed the car and also test drove . However I came home and after 3-4 more days the car still had same issues. It stopped on the highway in the. I managed to move to the rightmost lane and stopped over there on highway. This was a very scary incident. I gave the van back to the dealer and Chrysler reps again said they wil look at it . However, after 4 th attempt I gave them and brough it back . The problem still persists. No help from Chrysler or the dealer. Each time they take more than 3-4 weeks and leave you on with no rental help as well.

Transmission doesn’t shift properly. Highway going normal speeds, switch lanes and when pushing gas peddle, it instead slipped and decreased speeds almost causing an accident. Dealership says nothing is wrong. Eco start stop illuminated and front collision warning light also on.

This vehicle programming includes forward and rear collision warning with both audible and dashboard diagram lights showing which sensors are approaching another object. Unfortunately, in practice, the alarms alert you to something in front or behind you regardless of if you are in gear to move forwards or backwards. This means that everytime you get in gear to leave your parking spot the alarm is dinging because of whatever you pulled up to in your parking spot making drivers have to tune out the audible alarm which is irrelevant and look down at the dash to see where the alerting object is in relation to the vehicle. Reports have been filed with Chrysler but no action has been taken to improve this poor design despite years of it being in effect.

I have small grandchildren who play in the driveway area occasionally and I purchased a vehicle with parking collision warning features as an essential safety feature. The front center collision warning stopped working and when taken to the dealer twice they cannot confirm the defect because they test by walking in front of the car from the side. This activates sensors on the side but cannot identify a problem with the front sensor. They also drive the vehicle into a service bay which also activates the side sensors and does not detect the problem with the front sensor. We will try a third time with the dealer to have the problem addressed, but my concern is that current service guidelines for assessing function of the system are inadequate and should be addressed by appropriate training. I have no safe way of evaluating whether this problem effects the collision warning system.

The first incident, the vehicle lost power driving down the freeway at 75 miles per hour. That was only at 1,000 miles. Very scary!! since then, I have had numerous electrical issues- too many to count. There has been front & side sensor collision warnings when nothing is even next to my car. The navigation has not worked the majority of time that I have owned the car. Travel for work so I therefore have to look at my phone for directions- not ideal at all for safety. I had had a few instances of an extremely loud humming sound from the vehicle of unknown origin. I have had the control screen frozen & could not turn on heat in winter. I have most of these occurrences on video with my phone. I had sent a certified letter requesting arbitration. I have had no response from Chrysler. I had the car in 7 times to the dealership. They told me they cant fix it & dont waste my time returning until there is recall. I have these incidents in movie or video form.
