Warnings Problems of Chrysler Pacifica

We've had to replace the engine. Twice and the electric power steering quit, working completely. And now they want five thousand dollars to replace it. When it's a known problem.

While driving you feel the steering wheel sticking when at a certain degree. It has mostly occurred when on a curve and when going over 40 mph. We take several long trips and it has happened multiple times.

Parksense unavailable. While reversing we backed into another vehicle. Normally, the parking brakes if we get to close or at least a warning that we are approaching a potential hazard.

The emergency brake came on while I was driving.

Radio uconnect resets every 3 to 5 minutes. When this happens screen goes black. If backing no warning on what is behind you. Gps is resetting with wrong location. Wireless calls stop. This has been a problem across all fca brands and an issue since 2017. I had 2018 Pacifica with same issues. I believe there are two class action lawsuits over this problem. I had to pay $650 to replace radio. No help from Chrysler customer cares no help.

On empty roads at low speeds, vehicle flashed emergency braking signs and stopped abruptly. Happened multiple times in January both in reverse and when driving forward normally. Safety of driver and passengers was impacted by the sensor issues and abrupt braking. If there were other cars behind the vehicle, it could cause accidents and injury. Vehicle was brought into dealership and could not identify or address the issue. Suggestion provided was to disable the sensors while driving.

The entire radio/ backup camera freezes and will not come back on for minutes at a time. The dealer is aware of the problem and replaced the entire system once already. They were not able to reproduce the issue however I have video and pictures of a few incidents. There were no warnings however it almost always happens when first starting the car and so the backup camera becomes unusable along with all temperature controls and radio.

Front park sensor will intermittently go off like it is detecting an object when vehicle is at stopped, but there's no object, went to Chrysler dealership for warranty 7 times, last time dealer service confirm and recreate the problem but can not replace because no fail code as me open case with Chrysler. When park sensor fault read when I was at stop I need to get out of the car to inspect to make sure no object is in the front, this is very unsafe sometime I have get out of the car in the middle on the road.

(I traded my 2017 Honda crv exl and remaining amount financed with bank) the very next day I got these alerts while it was parked in my garage, the vehicle freezes all of a sudden, the bunch of alerts popup saying the safety features unavailable like, blind spot monitoring, active lane keeping, cross traffic alerts, forward collision, etc. At the steeting doesnt move. I took to the dealer on Jan 18th and they were not able to figure what was going on, it was with dealer for 3 days 1/18, 1/19 and 1/20. It seems that some of the standard safety features are unavailable or missing due to some reason which is mentioned in the optional equipment. Below two things seem to be missing: 1. Safety sphere 2. Parksense rear park assist additionally, there is also a recall on this vehicle regarding the safety issue. Dealer is denied to make any changes or repair to the vehicle. Please investigate the matter as these are major safety issues.

While traveling in the left hand lane I was hit on the right side pushing me into a median. I applied the brakes and they didn’t stop the vehicle. When the van came into contact with the curb. The airbags deployed. I smelt smoke and told my 4 young children in the back seat we needed to get out now. Two of my children were in 5 pt harness car seats in the third row. We were able to run to a safe area before it went up in flames less than a few mins later. There were no witnesses and no one around. My children and I could of been seriously injured or worse. No warning lights were active. No signs of failure until I tried pressing the brakes. The vehicle was inspected by the fire department that arrived on scene when it was fully engulfed in flames at that point.

This vehicle programming includes forward and rear collision warning with both audible and dashboard diagram lights showing which sensors are approaching another object. Unfortunately, in practice, the alarms alert you to something in front or behind you regardless of if you are in gear to move forwards or backwards. This means that everytime you get in gear to leave your parking spot the alarm is dinging because of whatever you pulled up to in your parking spot making drivers have to tune out the audible alarm which is irrelevant and look down at the dash to see where the alerting object is in relation to the vehicle. Reports have been filed with Chrysler but no action has been taken to improve this poor design despite years of it being in effect.

While driving vehicle with cruise control set to 55 vehicle stallings, losing power steering, and loses all driver-assist features, to include traction control, blind spot monitoring, power steering, forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, airbags, and other systems. Send back to dealership three times to two different dealerships and for same.

I have small grandchildren who play in the driveway area occasionally and I purchased a vehicle with parking collision warning features as an essential safety feature. The front center collision warning stopped working and when taken to the dealer twice they cannot confirm the defect because they test by walking in front of the car from the side. This activates sensors on the side but cannot identify a problem with the front sensor. They also drive the vehicle into a service bay which also activates the side sensors and does not detect the problem with the front sensor. We will try a third time with the dealer to have the problem addressed, but my concern is that current service guidelines for assessing function of the system are inadequate and should be addressed by appropriate training. I have no safe way of evaluating whether this problem effects the collision warning system.

The first incident, the vehicle lost power driving down the freeway at 75 miles per hour. That was only at 1,000 miles. Very scary!! since then, I have had numerous electrical issues- too many to count. There has been front & side sensor collision warnings when nothing is even next to my car. The navigation has not worked the majority of time that I have owned the car. Travel for work so I therefore have to look at my phone for directions- not ideal at all for safety. I had had a few instances of an extremely loud humming sound from the vehicle of unknown origin. I have had the control screen frozen & could not turn on heat in winter. I have most of these occurrences on video with my phone. I had sent a certified letter requesting arbitration. I have had no response from Chrysler. I had the car in 7 times to the dealership. They told me they cant fix it & dont waste my time returning until there is recall. I have these incidents in movie or video form.
