1 Wheel problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 04/20/2026

My 2018 Pacifica hybrid suffered a catastrophic suspension separation while driving—the exact failure described in safety recall v15. The driver fortunately arrived at home safely only seeing smoke coming out form the tire rubbing against the wheel hood. Although my VIN isn't showing as 'active,' this is clearly a safety defect. I would like to open a case for a goodwill repair or a 'special policy' adjustment because this is a known dangerous failure.

2 Wheel problem of the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/04/2025

The vehicle is unsafe to operate and presents an immediate highway safety risk. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle experienced multiple safety-related failures. Headlights were inoperable from the time of delivery, requiring use of high beams at night to see the roadway. This created visibility and traffic safety issues from day one. Within the first month of ownership, the vehicle required towing. The vehicle is a hybrid and could not be shifted into neutral, yet it was dragged with the wheels locked during towing rather than transported on a flatbed. This caused damage to multiple systems. Following the tow, all four tires developed visible bulges consistent with being dragged while immobilized, creating a significant risk of tire blowout at highway speeds. Steering and alignment became unstable, with grinding noises and loss of predictable control. The hybrid underbody shielding was also damaged, leaving components exposed. These conditions have persisted despite repeated notice to the seller and service administrator. A repair facility has confirmed the vehicle is not safe for long-distance or highway travel. The vehicle must regularly be driven at interstate speeds, and continued operation poses a serious risk of crash or injury. The vehicle remains in service only due to lack of alternatives, despite known safety defects affecting steering, lighting, and tires.

4 Wheel problem of the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/10/2023

A clicking sound was heard and the dealer determined that the front axle nuts that hold the wheel hubs to the axle loosened. Dealer re-torqued to 120 ft. Lbs. And added locktite, however problem reoccurs. Chrysler issued a technical service bulletin (03-008-24) to torque the axle nuts to 228 ft. Lbs. After this was done at the dealer, clicking sound was heard again in just 3 weeks. Several attempts by the dealer to correct the problem at the 120 ft. Lbs. Spec. And once at the 228 ft. Lbs. Spec. Have not worked following Chrysler's instructions. Risk of hub and wheel coming loose while driving. Dealer has attempted repair/correction six (6) times.

5 Wheel problem of the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/29/2023

Vehicle is new and delivered on 08/27/21. Complaint: the front axle nuts on vehicle loosen over time. The first incident was reported to I-10 Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram on 09/29/23 (see invoice), with 24,832 miles as a noise coming from the front left suspension. This dealer replaced both front hubs at that time which resolved the noise. The second incident was reported to chrystal Chrysler Jeep Dodge center on 02/13/24 (see invoice) with 27,952 miles as a noise coming from front left axle. Dealer mechanic went on test drive with me and found noise coming from front left axle shaft nut. Ro states, "found axle nut not torqued to specs. Tight down left front axle nut. Test drove vehicle. No noise found after repair. ". The third incident was reported to hemet Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram on 08/26/25, and I asked them to check the torque on the front axle nuts. They told me that the odds that they would be loose again was very small and they would need 2 days to diagnose the issue. Because I was leaving for a vacation road trip with the vehicle within a few days, I decided to take it to an independent automotive shop (cam stones automotive inc. ) on 08/26/25 and reported that the vehicle has a history of the axle nuts loosening over time. I asked that they check the torque on the front axle nuts (see invoice). The invoice states, "retorque axle nuts and apply lock tight. Suggest contact dealer or NHTSA as to permanent fix. 120 ft. Lbs. ". As I'm sure you are aware of the danger in axle nuts that loosen over time. Is there a recall on this issue? if not, are you investigating complaints of the axle nuts loosening time and time again?.

6 Wheel problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/05/2023

While I was driving the right control arm seperated from the car. I was fortunate that I wasn't on the highway, also that I did not cause a collision with another car/person. With no warning the car felt as if it dropped on to the ground. Soon after I received an error message saying to service the brakes which I assume was also damaged when the control arm fell. . . I had to have the car towed to a repair shop and received a list of repairs. The car is avaliable for inspection. I had no clue how something like that could even happen. Ive been trying to find answers when I saw a recall on another car by the same maker that perfectly summed up what happened to me. Chrysler's number for this recall is v15.

7 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 06/13/2023

The rear subframe holding the rear axles suddenly broke in half while driving 30 miles an hour down a residential street. Luckily, I was able to control the vehicle to get it to a shop where it was replaced. The vehicle had never been in a wreck.

8 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/13/2023

Hello this is an ongoing issue. This will be my third set of tires that are worn in a wavey patern. The stearing sticks when turning at around 40mph and the wheele doesnt return on its own also at low parking lot speeds it slips. I was made aware of this issue in the 2018 but I am tould this doesnt affect the 2017 but I am having the same issues. Thank you.

9 Wheel problem of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/14/2022

Very loud metallic clanking noise while driving 40-50 mph coming from front left wheel. When I inspected it, I saw that the front left wheel bearing hub mounting bolt had backed out of the hub and steering knuckle and onto the cv shaft end, which is what caused the clanking. I have photos of this damage. Vehicle is 3 years old and has 46,000 miles on it. I believe it should be obvious why wheel bearing hub mounting bolts backing out on their own is quite dangerous. This problem has not been confirmed by my local dealer. The manufacturer has not been made aware of this problem. There was no warning sign that this would occur. It happened spontaneously while driving this morning.

10 Wheel problem of the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/20/2022

Oem equipment wheel locks, incorrectly installed either at factory or dealer, were mcgard high security wheel locks, and either incorrectly tightened/torqued and/or the equipment used was warned by the mfg of the wheel locks not to be used on wheels where the lug studs were exposed to salt/winter conditions, thus causing the oem equipment to fail and seize on the van. At the first dealer performed tire rotation, they could not remove the oem equipment, on a warranted auto just 18 months into the mfg 3yr/36k mile warranty, and had to resort to brute force to remove seized wheel locks, thus causing documented damage to 2 wheels. Neither dealer nor Chrysler will admit to liability, tuning this back on me, disregarding their warranty. Full documentation available for this claim. Their denial is not based on any contractual issue in warranty nor in any real fact. Had I had a flat tire on the side of the road, these seized wheel lock nuts may have caused a real & present danger to myself and family in the van. This is the manufacture's issue to replace damaged equipment caused during warranty work on this auto.

11 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/03/2022

The car shudders when accelerating. The car jerks when making sharp turns in parking lots at low speeds. The car steering sticks when turning on windy roads I have to manually turn the wheel back to compensate and it is very jerky and dangerous.

12 Wheel problem of the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/26/2022

Ice buildup in the fender well to the tire which effects turning and steering. It happened all last winter and twice this year.

13 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/31/2020

8/31/20-driving on our vacation from FL to PA on I-95, I had to exit the interstate in florence SC when the steering wheel began to vibrate; car wobbled at slow speed. The mechanic at the Chrysler dealership said a belt had separated from the left front tire (mileage 21,153). 9/8/20-on my way home from PA, the left rear tire had to be replaced (again, belt separation) per the Chrysler dealership in williamsburg (mileage 22,369). 9/13/20-on the way from va to daytona beach, the right rear tire went (mileage 23,153). The Chrysler dealership in daytona bch did not carry the nexen tire, so I went to discount tire store and they replaced it with a different brand. According to info I found on the internet, Chrysler used nexen n'prizrh7a tires on the 2017 Pacifica. There are no warranties for tires; however, this could be a grave danger if you do a lot of highway driving. A blowout could be disastrous. Other drivers of the 2017 Pacifica should know about this issue.

14 Wheel problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/18/2020

I went on some errands before going out if town. I noticed I might need a wheel alignment soon and I parked the car in my garage to go out of town. When I returned to go have it checked out, I noticed my front driver side tire was flat and a closer inspection, it had a tear. Then I noticed my other front tire was flat as well. I had two people tell me my subframe was badly rusted. I found out this was a known problem with Chrysler Pacifica but no recalls. This could have been a horrible accident for my daughter and I. We had been on the highway! by the grace of god we made it home, but the car is not driveable. Then came covid and here I am, still without a car. Chrysler said they don't do recalls. This should not happen. Unfortunately, I don't know how long this was going on, no one mentioned anything at oil changes or when I got 3 new tires, etc. I don't have photos and just lost and frustrated this happened.

15 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/27/2020

Many other drivers complaining about same issue: 1. Driving at low speed (10mph or less) transmission does a hard shift as if it was trying to engage 2nd or 3rd shift. Car does a huge bump when the shift is engaged. 2. At high speed (65mph ~) is possible to hear a rattling noise coming from left side panel / drivers side. This is very concerning for us. Already have dealer check the vehicle but they always say they could not reproduce the issue. This is happening since the very first recall for this car. Before the first recall, no issue.

16 Wheel problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/08/2020

Been complaining about his front steering key suspension since 2020 about rattling and squeaking whenever customer turn in the wheel.

17 Wheel problem of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/03/2019

The all season tires provided with the new vehicle are useless on snowy icy minnesota roads. Very long stopping distance. Two experienced van drivers noticed the difference right away. The extra small tread toward the middle of the wide tires does little to improve traction for accelerating from a parked position. Also, skidding is much more likely with these tires. The tires should have much deeper treads since their width gives less traction.

18 Wheel problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/18/2019

I was driving in my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica on a rural street when it suddenly felt like the front passanger side tire had blown out. The car was difficult to control & and pulled to the right, pushing up against the curb. The car started to smoke and would not turn off. Concerned it was going to go on fire, my daughter & I ran out. When we were out of the car I saw that the front axle connecting the tire had come completely disconnected and dropped to the street while driving. I called 911 for help. The firemen arrived first. The car was still revving & smoking but they were unable to shut it manually so they had to lift the hood & cut the wires. The police arrived & investigated the area. They showed me the gauge mark from where the tire axle dropped in the middle of street which was behind where the car stopped against the curb. There were zero interferences in the area (pothole, debris, signs, railguards etc. ). It was a smooth street with a low, gradual curb. The officer told me that it was not my fault & due to a mechanical failure on the car. He wrote that in his report as well as on the notepad paper with his info & phone # to give the the dealership. 2 2018 recalls that may explain the problem, even though my VIN is not affected - which I would like further inspected, so I'm contacting the NHTSA to hopefully expand the recall VIN #s. *2018 Chrysler Pacifica recall, the front-axle half-shafts may have been incorrectly assembled, preventing the shaft from being properly secured to the constant-velocity joint. If the axle shaft disengages from the cv joint, the minivan will have a loss of drive or allow the vehicle to move. *Chrysler is recalling 47,771 of the 2018 Pacifica and Pacifica hybrid minivans because parts that connect key suspension and steering components on the right front wheel may fail, which could lead to a crash.

19 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/18/2019

Service stated brake booster needs repair. 2) turning slow as in backing out of parking spot and there is a creaking sound. Service states needs wheel hubs need replaced. Car is 67,000 miles.

20 Wheel problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 04/09/2019

Loose feeling in front end while driving the car and going over bumps in the road, had vehicle serviced 4 times by 2 service places, the noise still exists and I am concerned something will happen driving my car so I have rented a vehicle a few times to make sure of mine and my family's safety, this issue has been going on for 2 to 3 months now and every technician can"t seem to duplicate the noise that we feel when going over bumps,it almost feels like something is bobbling around under the car, this issue also affects the steering when making a left turn and it makes some sort of rubbing or knocking noise, this has been so frustrating and I am concerned that something will happen if I don't get this car fixed,I hope someone out there can help me,colleen hopkins 4/13/19,thank you.

23 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/24/2018

In July I took my vehicle in for down shifting issues and the couldn't find a problem when running a system check. Problem continued and 2 weeks ago took it in again for shifting issues. Now experience suspension popping a noisy sound. I'm tired of having a brand new vehicle with under 30,000 miles having so many problems. What is the solution?.

25 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/27/2018

I was involved in a injury causing accident in my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. My van was struck on the driver side front quarter panel and sustained significant damage there. There was no front impact. My front airbag and side airbag did not deploy. I was in motion and so was the other vehicle which was a f150. I do not know the speed of the other vehicle but my speed was about 15. Why wouldn't my airbag deploy?.

26 Wheel problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 03/28/2018

My vehicle has extensive cradle rot underneath the carriage which causes the car to shake and has the possibility to have the motor drop out of the car, I was having routine maintence completed on my car when I found this out. I called Chrysler and although hundreds of complaints have been filed no recall has been issued on this matter.

27 Wheel problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/10/2018

Wheel wells fill up with snow and ice builds up. The tires have no room to work. They spin but don't go anywhere. You can have your pedal to the ground, and the tires are not able to propel forward b/c of the extreme snow/ice build up in the wheel wells. It is extremely dangerous b/c it can happen as you are stopped at a light. Once the light turns green, you are unable to go b/c the tires just keep spinning. The only way to get your car moving again is hope that some of the snow breaks loose or you have to manually remove the build up that is around, behind and on the tires!!! I have to do this daily when there is snow on the ground. It does not even have to be a lot of snow on the ground for the wheel wells to be effected. It is very very dangerous!!! it seems like you are stuck in a 2 foot pile of snow but in reality you are not. Please please help me with this! I have this lease for over 2 more years and I am afraid to drive it in the winter when we have snow. The snow/ice will build up and stay in there so badly that it causes the whole car to shake. I drove it to the dealership the first time it happened b/c I thought my tires were going to fall off. I had no idea what was causing it until the service man said they have seen this before with Pacificas. He cleaned out all of the wheel wells and then it was fine. Until the next time it got filled up!!!!!.

28 Wheel problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/18/2017

My engine light has been on since I got the care in may of 2012-, I have always had problems with air going low on the drivers side front tire, and recently my steering has become hard to move even though it has power steering has fluid in it. At times the vehicle will shut off when I back out or come to a stop at a light or stop sign.

29 Wheel problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/11/2017

During the very first modest snow fall of the season, I was not able to stop at intersections where other cars could stop. At even extremely slow speed, I had trouble negotiating curves. I had to drive much slower than other cars and yet couldn't stop for yellow lights when other cars could. I am leaving the car in my driveway until I can get snow tires because it is too dangerous to drive my brand new van with the factory equipped "all weather" tires. I have driven long distances in much worse winter weather over 42 years and have never felt so unsafe as I did in this van with these tires!.

30 Wheel problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/12/2017

Frame rotted out under engine, garage said engine could fall out. This happened several years ago just took it in for an alignment and they told me the car wasn't safe to drive.

32 Wheel problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/22/2017

Im worried I dont have a nother vehicle .

33 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/18/2017

While driving our van it became completely uncontrollable at any speed greater than about 25 mph. Van rocked and pitched violently and I am convinced it would have certainly caused an accident and likely flipped van if it occurred at 40+ mph. Dealer discovered rear suspension had broken completely away from bracket. A complete bracket failure on right rear which allowed the whole right rear of the van to move independently of van. It was also discovered during inspection that the same bracket on the left side was cracked and also failing. The van is a mobility van and has been modified by a company called vmi. The van has been lightly used and has less than 9000 miles on it. I stress again that the van became completely uncontrollable without any known cause. I believe there is great chance of death or serious injury from this apparent defect.

34 Wheel problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

A very serious issue , wheels spinning and transmission shuddering problem on my new 2017 chyrsler Pacifica model, occurs more sharply and frequently on wet roads. While shifting to drive mode and picking up from idle position at signals & turns the vehicle shakes, wheels don't grab the roads, transmission slips, vehicle shudders, loses momentum and halts momentarily in the middle of the road, and this is worst on inclined roads. I barely escaped an accident today when vehicle stopped in the middle of the road while trying to take a turn at an intersection and wheels kept spinning, transmission kept shuddering and car wasn't moving anywhere. I complained a few times with Chrysler dealer, they said inspection does not find any error code. The issue is so apparent and can be replicated easily by just driving it once. It's a serious manufacturing defect and it can cause serious accidents and death. I intend to pursue this seriously with Chrysler and hope they are able to fix. If anybody has any similar experience, please post it here.

35 Wheel problem of the 2008 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/17/2016

I just purchased my 08 Pacifica on 2-10-16. Today as I was driving the electrical system started to malfunction. First it started with the heater not working to the car stalling in the middle of the highway. I have five kids so for me to be stranded on a busy highway with children is very scary. 1 wk ago wheels diagnosed to bent alloys and O2 sensor is jacked up too. Rust is also present im just worried about safety.
