The contact owns a 2001 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact, a certified mechanic, replaced all of the sensors on the vehicle, the relays, and the electrical fuses; however, the vehicle would not start when prompted. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.
The contact owns a 2001 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. The contact stated that while braking to a traffic stop, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The VIN was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 240,000 and the current mileage was 245,000.

Consumer states 2001 Pt Cruiser acted like it was going to stall and then the yellow warning light came on. He took the vehicle to the service department and they fixed the power steering, which was part of NHTSA recall 04v268000. Consumer was told the light would still be on and the problem would still occur. To find out why this is happened consumer had to pay to have diagnostic work done. This started day before yesterday, on July 5, 2005. It did not matter what speed the vehicle was going.
