2005 Chrysler Pt Cruiser, manual trans, naturally aspirated - arizona stop light, dash indicator, engine overheated, ac high pressure relief valve releases r134a refrigerant. Ac shop says defective pcm, ac system failure. Shop says only Chrysler dealership have pcm fix.

2 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2008

The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle's temperature gauge dial would rise above the halfway mark. The fan had to be activated in order for the dial to return to its normal position. The dealer stated that the fan and thermostat failed and needed to be replaced. There was no recall regarding this failure. The current mileage was 69,029 and failure mileage was 64,000.
