Brake Disc Rotor problems of the 2002 Chrysler Sebring

Three problems related to brake disc rotor have been reported for the 2002 Chrysler Sebring. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2005

On 2/5/05 car started to vibrate every time I applied the brake. I took the car to the dealer 2/8/05. The rep called to say the car needed brake pads and that the rotors could not be turned because the problem had gone on too long. When asked what problem he indicated that the brakes had been scraping. I told him that was not true. He then indicated that the rotors were warped and that a lot of Sebrings and 300 m's came in for warped rotors. I asked if that were not an indication that the rotors were defective. He answered, well yes and no. On a car with less than 40,000 miles, the brakes and rotors were replaced. My ticket only shows that they were replaced. If the dealer does not report potential problems to the manufacturer how can consumers be safe. Warped rotors could compromise the abs system and bring great bodily harm to the driver, passengers, and anyone hit by the vehicle.

2 Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2004

My front brakes failure, without any warning the fron brakes on my 2002 Sebring.

3 Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2004

Braking does not seem to work properly, car fishtails while braking, especially on damp or wet surfaces, to the point that I have almost hit other vehicles even with plenty of advanced stopping distance. The car is almost out of control to drive on a wet road, and it certainly isn't completely effective on dry road surfaces. Problem has occured since vehicle was brand-new, and brakes/rotors are in excellent condition.
