Purchased 2005 Sebring convertible in early 2006 with 18,000 miles on it. Was pushed into an extended warranty that has went out of business. Car cruise control quit working, was a wiring issue, had to have steering wheel tore apart and repaired. Dealer cost $374. Interior lights in car flicker and continue to flicker. Car goes into gear hard sometimes, like a clunk. No the blower motor in the vehicle has went out and the car only has 84,000 miles on it. If you google this vehicle for blowers it is all over the internet, a manufacturer problem that only has a service bulletin. How nice of Chrysler to know they have thousands of this issue and they do nothing about it. I am very displeased with the problems I am experiencing with this vehicle. Signed a very upset customer.

Sputtering, burning smell and smoke in dash. Cracked dash. Flooding in car, various mfg. Defects. Lemon, but cannot file lemon law as car just turned 5 y/o. Single mom, limited income.
My 1996 Chrysler Sebring convertible almost caught fire from the dash stereo speakers mid 10/05 . . Screeching noises came from my speakers and then smoke began to come out of them. I turned off the stereo and soon after went to my mechanic. When they turned my stereo on smoke came out of the dash speakers again. I asked them to pull the fuse so that it wouldn't happen again. On 2/16/06 I called Chrysler. I received a letter from them dated 2/21/06 stating that they would not do anything about it because the time or mileage warranty had expired. On recall sights I have found where there were recalls for the same problem in slightly newer models. This could have ended in injury or even death to myself and my two nieces that I was driving to school that morning. I am hoping that you can help me have the problem corrected by Chrysler. There are also other electrical problems and I've also had a few problems with the steering and timing belt. I await your reply.

Odometer and tachometer stop and start functioning intermittently. I understand this is a known and common probelm with this year/model. Why won't Chrysler recall and repair this obvious defect in the car?.
Electronic gear selection indicator, electronic odometer, and tach. Guage do not work. Have to guess what gear vehile is in. Never works when car is started, but about 50% of time it will start working after driving for 10-15 minutes.
Wiring came apart under dash leaving portion of instrument panel inoperable.
Digital mileage & gear shift screen + rpm gauge intermittantly goes off; both while driving and at start up.
Power locks and power trunk release button failed due to failure of the body control module.
When car is turned on dashboard only works 1/2 time when car is on. Dealer not aware of problem. No warranty. Repairwork not done. Problem still exists. Provide further information.
Consumer says when electrical short happens all gauges return to (0), and the power windows quit working. The cruise control and rear defrosters also quit working.
At any time, either when I first started the car or while driving digital odometer goes blank and the tachometer falls to 0 rpm. This occurs everytime I drive the car. Sometimes they will come back on and sometimes they won't. Also, even though the odometer has went blank, it continues to count the milage of the car.
Windshield shows a refection of the vehicle. This causes the driver's vision to be obstructed. Had tried to alleviate problem by covering or painting it, but problem still exists.

Computer system is registering false readings, making the service light illuminate. A mechanic has inspected items theatcomputer has acknowledged as a failure, but no problem was found. Please describe details.
There is something wrong with the brakes, I have taken the car to two different shops and it still makes a metallic sound like something is grinding when you step on the brakes, the odometer and rpm gauge work intermittantly at best probably some kind of a short in the system, when you start up the car the passenger side window motor comes on, the window doesn't go up or down but the sound is coming from the inside of that door, sometimes the powere buttons for the windows don't function right away, you have to tap on the button several times for it to work. The connection for the rear window defrost came apart where it connects to the window.
"electronic" odometer and other dashboared components failed intermittently while driving. Dealer diagnosed that the printed circuit board failed, and advised it was a common occurrence.
The digital mileage and gear shift screen and the rpm gage keep going off periodically, sometimes when you start the vehichle and sometimes just driving down the road it will go out and then back on at anytime. No ryme or reason.
