2 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 02/01/2012

Whenever I self fill or an attendant fills my vehicle with gasoline it spits back +/- 2 cups of gas after the pump shuts off even on the slowest fill speed. Gasoline spills all over the side of the vehicle, ground and anyone standing next to the vehicle. This is definitely a true safety hazard to owner and or gas station attendants having gasoline on their hands and clothes, and the environment from the escaped fumes, and definitely a potential for fire from pooled spilled gasoline on the ground. I have also heard from another individual with a 2008 Sebring convertible having the same issue.

5 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2004 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 09/15/2009

Several months ago I was stopped at a stoplight in my 2004 Chrysler Sebring convertible, 2. 7l automatic. I shifted into neutral as usual at the light. When the light changed I shifted into drive and the engine went "wide open. " I lurched forward, jammed on brakes and turned ignition off. I paused a minute (in front of starteled onlookers), restarted the engine, and drove on cautiously. Next day I took car to Chrysler dealer and they "could find nothing wrong with the car. " this could have been disastrous. It has not happened again.

6 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2003 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 03/14/2009

Problem: smelling gas fumes while starting the car. Engine failure to start. Failure is daily. My wife and have taken the car numerous times to the dealer. The dealer stated that there is nothing wrong with the car, except needing a new gas cap. Since then, our local dealer has gone out of business. I am concerned that our car will result in worst case scenario results, like an explosion while starting the car. Our car was purchased brand new in 2003, in 2009 the cars condition has gotten worse, smelling more fuel fumes. I am not sure what to do, I am in hopes that someone on your end can help us. We don't have alot of money to go out and simply get a new car. Chrysler should have been paying more attention when designing the Sebring lx. I am afraid to even operate it. I have two children my wife and I simply cannot afford to repeatedly taking our car to someone only to be told there is nothing wrong with it. We have also noticed clicking sounds from the steering column. And the when you have your hands on the steering wheel, you can feel this "clicking". Please help us.

8 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 12/30/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The contact took her vehicle to the dealer for inspection and the pcm was replaced. Immediately after the repair, while the windows were closed, she reported feeling uncomfortable; almost as if gasoline were leaking internally into the vehicle. She noticed that the fuel warning indicator was illuminated on the instrument panel. She took the vehicle back to the dealer and they replaced the fuel vessel and the o'ring. All of the remedies have been insufficient in repairing the failures. The failure mileage was 4,000 and current mileage was 7,000.

9 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 10/15/2008

Low power when trying to accelerate. I was told my car was getting too much fuel. I took my car into the shop because of water in my back floor board and asked them to check out the check engine light coming on and that when hooked to the a readout meter that they could find nothing other than 1 time about misfiring. When they did some rather expensive tests, I was told that my car is getting too much fuel. It feels like it just kind of bogs down at times when trying to increase the speed. . . You push the gas pedal and it just doesn't want to increase the speed. I was also told that this car is made to go fast and that it doesn't like going slow.

10 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 08/01/2006

My 2005 Chrysler Sebring has a faulty fuel level reading. I have had the vehicle in two different dealerships (the first one diagnosed the problem, but did no service work due to my leaving the state of minnesota; the other two dealerships supposedly did work to the vehicle) first servicing dealership claimed to have replaced the fuel sending unit; however, the problem of inaccurate fuel level is still showing. (what I mean by inaccurance fuel level reading is that the gauge will show one level, but the amount of fuel put in the vehicle is substantially less; much less than a one or 1. 5 gallon reserve would show. ) it is unknown if the original part is available. I have showed the last servicing dealership photographs of the fuel gauge and receipts from fill ups; the last servicing dealership claims there is nothing wrong. I can produce a sworn statement from my wife which will prove my case.

11 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2000 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 07/25/2006

I've been having problems with the brakes of my 2000 Sebring shortly after I purchased it from star Chrysler in glendale CA. It only had 14,800 miles on it. I'm the second owner. I can't really hit my brakes and they wear out really fast. Chrysler did nothing about this. These brakes are defective, unsafe and poorly designed. I constantly have to replace them. It's very frustrating. I have to put my car in low gear to go down hills and off ramps so the brakes don't wear out. Also, my sending unit disabled at 84,000 miles. I now have to count the gallons of gas and track the mileage so I don't run out of gas. Very dangerous. Chrysler again did nothing. This is a computer related and should not have failed at 84,000 miles. My distributor failed last week at 107,000. This should not have failed. I called Chrysler and they told me the only way they could give me assistance is if I towed it to the dealership. It was a total lie just to get me in there to spend $. They wanted $1500. Chrysler notified me the next day to tell me I wasn't getting any assistance due to being out of warranty. This cost me 2 unnecessary tows from aaa. I had to tow it again to another mechanic which used up my last tow with aaa. I had to tow it also when my gas gauge disabled. Chrysler is very unethical to it's consumers and failed miserably in the quality of their vehicles.
