1 Tank Assembly problem of the 2010 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 07/12/2015

Whitish/grayish smoke was billowing out of front end of car. Patrons driving alerted us & we exited vehicle. As we vacated vehicle we realized purse was still in vehicle, we ran to retrieve it & as we retrieved belongings, fire engulfed front end of vehicle & shot through front of vehicle & engulfed the entire front portion of vehicle & inside of vehicle. Power steering fluid dripped on engine which ignited the fire. As fire firefighters extinguished the first fire & as the first fire died down the vehicle erupted in flames once again which was ignited by fuel. Power steering fluid and battery acid causing the flames to shoot through the front end of the car (inside) to the back of the vehicle towards fuel tank. The vehicle was a potential fire ball. Vehicle is a charred totaled shell of a car. Towed to a towing/storage lot waiting for inspection by field engineers of Chrysler as well as your team per sabrina case # 10733613.

2 Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 03/07/2012

The incident: during fill up at gas station, automatic shut off of the gas pump occurred when tank was full. However, gas overflowed from underneath fill location (above wheel well) and leaked all over ground. This has been happening since the car had 80,000 on the odometer. I have tried different ways of pumping gas into car, all with same result of overflow. This seems to be a common problem.

3 Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 12/22/2011

Almost every time I fill the gas tank, the gas spills or sprays out of the tank. No matter how slow I fill it. This is dangerous and I had this same issue with another 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible.

4 Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 12/01/2011

When filling the vehicle with gas, the gas sprays back out of the filler tube after the automatic shut-off of the gas station pump. I would estimate one to two cups of gasoline spray out onto the pump handle, the side of the car, my clothes, and the drive. This is a forceful spray. This happens on the initial shut-off of the pump, unrelated to topping off the tank. This started around December of 2011 and happens at all gas stations. There is no noticeable slope to the drives at these gas stations and it does not matter which speed I use on the pump. It will happen if I use the slowest speed or if I set the pump handle to full speed. This is a safety issue! I see others online with the same complaints in Chrysler vehicles. What can I do?.

10 Tank Assembly problem of the 2004 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 12/15/2004

I purchased my 2004 Sebring at shellby Chrysler Jeep\eagle dealership. Just a few short months later ,my car started just cutting off. Then it started jumping forward while I had my foot on the brake almost causing me to get hit in several intersections. I took my car in more than 7 times to be told that they could not find a problem because the check engine light did not come on therefore it would not pull a code. Meanwhile, I have to take it back for a leak somewhere. This happened twice. Now 2 years later just as my warranty has ran out, the car starts cutting off and leaving me stranded. I had to have towed to the dealership only for the service department to Smart off at MA and tell me that it was out of gas. I knew this was not true because the first time this happened the first thing I did was try to put gas in it. Also, when I was having trouble only a few months after I bought the car that something was wrong with the gas gauge, but of course, they could not find a problem. The car cut off again and I took it back, asked them to check the gas gauge and then was told the sending unit in the gas tank was bad,now that its out of warranty and I have to pay over 700. 00 for the part to be replaced. Oh yeah, and the paint is peeling off!.
