Automatic Transmission Control Module problems of the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Two problems related to automatic transmission control module have been reported for the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2006

I had to pay $115. 88 to quinn Chrysler-Dodge in bartlesville, ok to receive a software correction for the "powertrain control module and transmission control module" on my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country minivan . The dealer told me this repair was a known problem and resulted in the transmission shifting erratically. I believe this is a safety hazard and Chrysler should correct this problem without charge to owners.

2 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2005

I had just picked up my new vehicle from the dealer and had only 250 miles on it. I was simply driving down the road when the transmission seemed to shift into neutral and then back into gear. I quickly pulled over but everything seemed okay. I continued on and quickly discovered the transimission was not shifting out of low gear. I called the 800 number for Chrysler road service only to be told that there were no contracted service providers in the area where I was. I made other arrangements to have it towed to the nearest dealer (<10 miles away). The problem turned out to be a failed power train control module. It's been a week and they still have not fixed the problem because no parts are available. I've been given a promise date that is almost 3 weeks out.
