Whining noise when driving my 05 town and country minivan. The problem started a little over a month ago. Took the vehicle in and explained the problem to the dealership service department. The man asked to look under the hood. He told me that it is a common problem for the rack and pinion steering to go out on the town and country van and that my steering fluid was low so that might be the problem. If the people at the service department are used to this problem, I feel that a recall should be issued. There are numerous message boards of people having the exact same problem as well. The vehicle isn't even 4 years old yet and has 50k miles on it. I feel like a $1000. 00 repair on a known issue is ridiculous when the car is that old.
Consumer went to get vehicle serviced for rack and pinion, and since April, they still do not have any parts available. Consumer was still waiting to get her car serviced.
