One problem related to winch equipment has been reported for the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The vehicle involved is a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country lx minivan with stow-n-go seating. After repairing a flat tire, the spare tire hanger jammed, causing the tire to appear in place but actually loose. The hanger is a winch with a wire rope that retracts to hang the tire under the mid-section of the van. The wire rope spooled unevenly, jamming against the housing. No accident occurred, but there is high potential for harm to other drivers if the tire were to fall to the roadway.
