One problem related to transmission slip out of gear has been reported for the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2006

While driving a new 2006 town and country, the vehicle would not shift out of 2nd gear. Initially, pulling over, shutting the car off, and restarting the car would resolve the issue. However, after this shut-off procedure the car would downshift very rough (with an audible banging noise). Vehicle was brought to the dealership where it was purchased within 24 hours of the first symptom. The check engine light did illuminate. Dealership has had the car for 4 days at this point without even having diagnosed the problem. We are driving a rental vehicle as a substitute.
