Wheel problem #1

The tire pressure monitor sensor and valve stem. This part keeps on breaking for no apparent reason. I had to replace at least 4-5 of them. Yesterday, the stem fractured when I was traveling down a county highway about 40 mph. I was able to safely coast to a stop and changed the flat. I had the valve/sensor replaced which cost me about $100. That is nothing compared with the potential hazard of the stems breaking at higher speeds. The situation could have been catastrophic. I believe the part has a design flaw. It is made of white metal or aluminum and does not hold up. The sensors are quite expensive. Newer ones are plastic or even a different design. Maybe other folks are having the same issue?.

Wheel problem #2

2007 Chrysler town and country had low tire pressure message on the console. Removed valve stem cap and went to fill tire with air when part of the valve stem shot at me. Luckily it hit my shoulder and not face or eyes or while driving. Tire then rapidly deflated. Had to replace entire tpms sensor. Tpms sensor valve stem was made of cheap aluminum.

Wheel problem #3

Over the past year, all four valve stems have broken off each tire€™'s tire pressure monitoring sensor resulting in an unexpected flat tire. The first was while routine airing of the tire, the second was in a car wash, and two occurred in one day as I attempted to take off the stem caps. The ease at which all four broke is extremely concerning (simply unscrewing the cap, for example), and so it seems to me that it is complete plausible that the stems could have snapped off while on cruising on the freeway or driving in congested traffic, causing a flat tire at speed, which would have resulted in an extremely dangerous situation. After checking a Chrysler minivan blog, it appears this issue is common among all Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge vehicle with this type sensor. I have checked with Chrysler but am not aware of any recall with this device.
